Good day all. It\u2019s been discussed for a few months now, but it seems that convicted criminal, O.J. Simpson has been released from prison.<\/p>\n

Simpson, who was acquitted 20 years ago of murdering his wife Nicole and Ron Goldman, was convicted about 10 years ago for armed robbery in Las Vegas. He was released late last night. Here are some of the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Just as he eluded tacklers during his NFL days, O.J. Simpson avoided a media frenzy by being freed from a Nevada prison during the early hours of Sunday morning. Simpson was released after serving nine years for a botched 2007 hotel-room heist in Las Vegas that brought the conviction and prison time he avoided in the killings of his wife and her friend after his 1995 acquittal. <\/b><\/p>\n

I was rather surprised at Simpson\u2019s sentence. He was technically a first offender, and they usually get, if not a slap on the wrist, then only a few years. I suspect, and a lot of others think the same thing, that judge in the case threw the book at Simpson to give the families of Nicole Simpson and Ron Goldman some sense of justice being served.<\/p>\n

The 70-year-old Simpson gains his freedom after being granted parole earlier this year. Unlike the last time he went free 22 years ago, he will face restrictions — five years of parole supervision — and he’s unlikely to escape public scrutiny as the man who morphed from charismatic football hero, movie star and TV personality into suspected killer and convicted armed robber. <\/b><\/p>\n

As to what Simpson will do now, that\u2019s anyone\u2019s guess. Rumors recently started that Simpson had stashed millions of dollars away in overseas accounts to avoid having to pay the judgments against him by the Goldman family. It certainly isn\u2019t as if Simpson has any market value left these days.<\/p>\n

After the murder trial, his \u201cStock\u201d essentially crashed and he couldn\u2019t get any work in Hollyweird. With his conviction and prison sentence, about all he\u2019s good for is mopping floors after hours at Wal-Mart. Frankly, even that\u2019s to good for him. He had everything and threw it away, and only by the hard work of a good lawyer, was he able to avoid being convicted of murder. As far as I\u2019m concerned, He can just go somewhere and rot.<\/p>\n
