It\u2019s Friday, I\u2019ve been very busy and began looking for something to comment on. Lo and Behold, what did I find? The woman in question has ignored requests, demands and some cease and desist letters. Here are the details from <a href=\"http:\/\/nypost.com\/2017\/11\/09\/new-york-times-accuses-woman-of-pretending-to-be-reporter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>the New York Post<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The Gray Lady is seeing red over a colorful Manhattan woman who\u2019s masquerading as a New York Times reporter, saying she is sullying its reputation as the newspaper of record. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Sullying the reputation of the New York Slimes? Are they effing kidding? She certainly can\u2019t be any worse then the Progressive Propagandists currently \u201cReporting\u201d for the New York Slimes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>She first introduced herself as a Times reporter at a Brookings Institute event in 2013. She also claimed to work for the paper in an interview with the Turkish ambassador, and then again at a speech in March by Education Secretary Betsy DeVos. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/shocked-face.png\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-20636\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/shocked-face-300x225.png?resize=300%2C225\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/shocked-face.png?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/shocked-face.png?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\">\u201c<b>Ms. Bourbon is not, and has never been, employed by The Times, as a reporter for The New York Times, or in any other position or capacity,\u201d the Manhattan Supreme Court suit says. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/snob_che_frame.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-16081\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/snob_che_frame-215x300.jpg?resize=215%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"215\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/snob_che_frame.jpg?resize=215%2C300&amp;ssl=1 215w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/10\/snob_che_frame.jpg?w=268&amp;ssl=1 268w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 215px) 100vw, 215px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I believe I have located <a href=\"https:\/\/www.facebook.com\/contessa.bourbon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Ms. Bourbon\u2019s Facebook page<\/a>. She does seem to get around meeting and greeting people.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>She has ignored two cease-and-desist letters, it says.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>And so, the New York Slimes has decided to test <a href=\"https:\/\/en.wikipedia.org\/wiki\/Streisand_effect\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the Streisand Effect<\/a>. I did enjoy the arguments the Slimes is giving the court to shut Ms. Bourbon down.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Her scheme \u201cis likely to cause confusion or injury to the business reputation of The Times, or dilution of the distinctive quality of The Times\u201d trademarks, the Times\u2019 lawyers claim in the just-filed suit. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Money pit laugh scene\" width=\"640\" height=\"480\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Gbp_JQ7RxqM?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Oh that\u2019s hilarious! The New York Slimes reputations was trashed long before Ms. Bourbon came along. There is nothing she could do that wouldn\u2019t be an improvement on what passes for \u201cReporting\u201d and \u201cJournalism\u201d at the New York Slimes. Sadly, they will probably get what they want.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>The newspaper is suing to force her to give up the guise.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Ms. Bourbon is also pretending to be a reporter with other major news agencies and papers.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px;\"><b>Her <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ContessaBourbon\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Twitter bio<\/a> also claims she is a reporter for the Wall Street Journal, the Times of London, the Guardian and the Washington Post. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>It will be interesting if they also go after her, or just ignore her as a harmless eccentric. Who knows?
