Good day all. Once again, the Mostly Stupid Media has been caught making things up about anyone President Trump selects for an important position. In this case, it is CIA Director-Designate Gina Haspel.<\/p>\n

In this case, the online News site, ProPublica, stated that Ms. Haspel, who is a career CIA agent\/operative\/employee, also ran a black site that was waterboarding terrorists. The only problem was, Haspel didn\u2019t take over the site until after Waterboarding was stopped. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The online news site ProPublica said Thursday night that it had retracted part of an article alleging Gina Haspel, President Trump’s new choice to head the CIA, oversaw the waterboarding of an Al Qaeda suspect at a so-called agency “black site” in Thailand. <\/b><\/p>\n

“We at ProPublica hold government officials responsible for their missteps, and we must be equally accountable,” editor-in-chief Stephen Engelberg said in a statement<\/a>. “This error was particularly unfortunate because it muddied an important national debate about Haspel and the CIA\u2019s recent history.<\/b><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Nice going Numbnuts. Now I don\u2019t know anything about ProPublica. I may have read some of their stories if I followed a link. I do not know where they stand on the political spectrum. I suspect, and remember, this is pure supposition on my part, that they would have preferred Felonia von Pantsuit in the Oval office, not President Trump.<\/p>\n

The reason for Ms. Haspel\u2019s nomination as the first female director of the Central Intelligence Agency is rather simple. The current director, Mike Pompeo, is moving over to the State Department, replacing Rex Tillerson. Since she has caught the eye of President Trump, the Democrat Propaganda department has to destroy her, and in their usual way, the promptly opened fire without bothering with a little thing called \u201cFact checking.\u201d<\/p>\n

The original ProPublica article, published Feb. 22, 2017, alleged that Haspel was chief of base at the Thailand site where accused terrorist Abu Zubaydah was interrogated in 2002. Engelberg said that after the original article was published, at least two of Haspel’s former colleagues told them that she did not take up that position “until late in 2002, after the waterboarding of Zubaydah had ended.” <\/b><\/p>\n

So, where did these mental midgets who take the short bus to work every day get their information?<\/p>\n

The original ProPublica article, citing a book written by former interrogator James Mitchell, claimed Haspel went to Zubaydah’s cell and “congratulated him on the fine quality of his acting.” <\/b><\/p>\n

“Good job! I like the way you\u2019re drooling; it adds realism,” the article quoted Haspel as saying. “I\u2019m almost buying it. You wouldn\u2019t think a grown man would do that.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Yep, pretty damning. Of course, I would have preferred bamboo shoots under the finger nails instead of waterboarding, but that\u2019s just me. So what did the author of the book have to say?<\/p>\n

However, Mitchell told Fox Business Network on Wednesday that Haspel was not the chief of base who made those comments to Zubaydah, saying she was “not the [chief of base] I was talking about” in his book. <\/b><\/p>\n

So, this guy never actually identified the person who made the statement? Didn\u2019t anyone think to ask him about who actually was the person in charge at that time?<\/p>\n

In his statement, Engelberg noted that Mitchell’s book had identified the Thailand chief of base as “both ‘he’ and she.'” <\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019ll take that as a no, they never actually talked to this guy before they ran with their idea of news.<\/p>\n

Former CIA Director John Brennan has declined to say what Haspel’s exact role was in the interrogation program, but he told NBC News on Tuesday that she has a “lot of integrity” and has tried to carry out her agency duties “when asked to do difficult things in challenging times.” <\/b><\/p>\n

The only people who need to know what her role was at the time, is the oversight committees and the committee she will speak with during her confirmation hearings. Frankly, I have no problem with her waterboarding terrorists. Of course, I also have no problem turning the entire Middle East, with the exception of Israel, into a nuclear waste dump. Once again, Journalist show why people no longer trust them to report actual facts.<\/p>\n
