This struck me as very odd. I don\u2019t see it as a problem if it\u2019s someone lawfully in the United States who is a citizen of Mexico. The story also mentioned some with duel citizenship. That one I may have a few questions on, but again, it appears lawful at first glance. Then we have American Citizens who went down there and that was when the alarm bells started ringing for me. Here are some of the details from The San Diego Union-Tribune<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n A schoolteacher from North County, a factory worker from Riverside, and an engineer from Bonita were among hundreds waiting for up to three hours at Tijuana\u2019s A.L. Rodr\u00edguez International Airport on Sunday morning to vote in Mexico\u2019s presidential election.<\/b><\/p>\n \u201cThe hope is that we can see a change,\u201d said Patricia Van Sickel, 60, of Rancho Pe\u00f1asquitos. Registered to vote in Mexico City, she was preparing to cast a ballot for Ricardo Anaya of Mexico\u2019s National Action Party, the PAN. <\/b><\/p>\n Unable to make it back to the country\u2019s capital in time, the English as a Second Language teacher instead joined the long line that snaked for much of the day through the airport\u2019s lobby, spilling onto the sidewalk outside. <\/b><\/p>\n Waiting to vote were mothers pushing strollers, airline passengers pulling luggage, groups of friends on vacation and a dozen nuns wearing full habit. Literally feet from the border, the station also proved convenient for many Mexicans living in southern California \u2014 both dual U.S. and Mexican citizens or U.S. legal residents. <\/b><\/p>\n Ok, I don\u2019t have a real problem so far. Perhaps with the duel citizenship thing, but that can be discussed.<\/p>\n Among them was Mar\u00eda C\u00e1ndida Ram\u00edrez Serrano, who was preparing to cast her ballot at the Tijuana airport after a three-hour wait that followed her two-hour drive from Riverside County.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s worth it,\u201d said Ram\u00edrez, 59, a U.S. resident who drove down from Corona with her brother. She moved to the United States from Puebla four years ago, after she couldn\u2019t find work as a topographical engineer, and now works in a warehouse.<\/strong><\/p>\n Excuse me? She has actual skills and is working in a warehouse? Something doesn\u2019t seem right about that. Perhaps she didn\u2019t bother with that pesky green card thing?<\/p>\n \u201cAt last, we\u2019re going to see justice done, we\u2019ll have opportunities for everyone,\u201d said Ram\u00edrez, who was preparing to cast a ballot for Andr\u00e9s Manuel L\u00f3pez Obrador, the populist left-of-center front-runner who has been leading most polls. <\/b><\/p>\n Yeah, right. If this clown tries some of the things he\u2019s been promising, you\u2019re going to see U.S. troops in Mexico city again.<\/p>\n Farther down the line, Marco Pe\u00f1a, a 26-year-old electrical engineer who is a dual U.S. and Mexican citizen, said he had no faith in L\u00f3pez Obrador, and planned to vote for Anaya, the PAN candidate. <\/b><\/p>\n Anaya \u201cis the least bad,\u201d choice, said Pe\u00f1a, a Bonita resident originally from Guadalajara who worries about a Venezuelan-style government in Mexico if L\u00f3pez Obrador wins. <\/b><\/p>\n Dude, make up your mind. You are either an American, or a Mexican. Since you obviously came here legally, (Assuming you weren\u2019t born here and went through the process), you should toss the Mexican passport and fully embrace being an American. Give us the good stuff and ship the bad stuff back to Mexico. (The \u201cGood stuff\u201d being anything from Mexican culture that improves America, just like every other immigrant group has)<\/p>\n Now I\u2019m fully in favor of the democratic process. I am not in favor of voting in two different country\u2019s elections. It just doesn\u2019t pass the smell test. For those who are here as lawful resident aliens? Sure, no problem. Those with duel citizenship? Problem.
