There was just one small problem. The source turned out to be Cohen\u2019s lawyer, Lanny Davis. Davis admitted that he had lied. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>. (No way will CNN report this)<\/p>\n Lanny Davis, the high-powered attorney of President Trump\u2019s longtime \u201cfixer\u201d-turned-foe Michael Cohen, admitted Monday he was an anonymous source for a bombshell CNN story on the infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting \u2014 after The Washington Post outed him as a source for its own story. <\/b><\/p>\n Davis told BuzzFeed News<\/a> Monday night he regretted being the anonymous source as well as his subsequent denial. The CNN story, which cited multiple \u201csources,\u201d claimed Cohen said President Trump knew in advance about the Trump Tower sit-down. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cI made a mistake,\u201d Davis told BuzzFeed. <\/b><\/p>\n CNN, which has stood by its reporting, did not immediately respond to Fox News’ request for comment. <\/b><\/p>\n No one should be surprised that CNN claimed multiple sources when all they had was the Lanny Davis, and that they won\u2019t repudiate the story. There is a reason President Trump refers to them as a \u201cFake News\u201d agency, and this is one of them. As for Davis? He\u2019s trying to climb out of the hole he dug for himself.<\/p>\n Davis spent recent days walking back his bombshell assertions that his client could tell Special Counsel Robert Mueller that Trump had prior knowledge of the meeting with a Russian lawyer discussing potentially damaging information on Hillary Clinton. Trump has denied knowledge all along, and fired back following CNN\u2019s report last month. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cI did NOT know of the meeting with my son, Don jr. Sounds to me like someone is trying to make up stories in order to get himself out of an unrelated jam (Taxi cabs maybe?). He even retained Bill and Crooked Hillary\u2019s lawyer. Gee, I wonder if they helped him make the choice!\u201d Trump tweeted on July 27. <\/b><\/p>\n The CNN report from July 27<\/a> headlined, \u201cCohen claims Trump knew in advance of 2016 Trump Tower meeting,\u201d cited \u201csources with knowledge,\u201d contradicting repeated denials by Trump and his surrogates, as Fox News<\/a> previously reported. CNN\u2019s report resulted in countless cable news segments and sent other news organizations scurrying to match.<\/b><\/p>\n CNN, like most of the Media loves to cite \u201cMultiple sources with knowledge\u201d when they make up their stories. The problem is, these \u201cMultiple sources\u201d generally turn out to be one person who actually doesn\u2019t know anything. He or she is lying for their own reasons and since the MSM is so dead set to \u201cGet Trump\u201d they will buy anything. Then the one thing they dread happens. Actual facts appear and blow their story out of the water. (I won\u2019t bother speaking about their credibility. They threw that away decades ago)<\/p>\n Lanny Davis has since started back peddling on his story, saying things like \u201cI was misunderstood.\u201d and \u201cI misspoke.\u201d This is lawyerspeak for \u201cI\u2019ve been lying through my teeth and I got caught.\u201d The reason he got caught was Cohen.<\/p>\n Cohen had also been making claims that he had \u201cThe goods\u201d on President Trump. Then he was put under oath and forced to actually back up his public statements. The big one was that President Trump knew about things like the Wikileaks stories on Felonia von Pantsuit\u2019s email and that he knew about his son\u2019s meeting with the Russian woman who claimed to have \u201cThe goods\u201d on Felonia.\u201d<\/p>\n Cohen, who probably didn\u2019t want to also face a perjury charge, admitted that he didn\u2019t have any information that President Trump know about the meeting or about the Wikileaks releases. When that came out, it showed that the \u201cSources\u201d were full of it. Then Davis admitted that he was the source for CNN and that\u2019s when everything fell apart. In another story from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n CNN is facing heavy criticism for refusing to retract a bombshell story on the infamous 2016 Trump Tower meeting after one of the anonymous sources recanted and admitted he was a source.<\/b><\/p>\n On Tuesday afternoon, (August 28th<\/sup>), CNN.com published a new report that acknowledged the changing stories of Lanny Davis, the high-powered attorney of President Trump\u2019s longtime \u201cfixer\u201d-turned-foe Michael Cohen — but critics pointed out the network failed to address key issues with its original report. <\/b><\/p>\n Lanny Davis admitted he was the source for the garbage published by CNN, but only after the Washington ComPost outed him as the source for their version of the story. Burning sources is something reporters are loathe to do, and only do so when they find out they\u2019ve been lied to. Since, as I mentioned above, the sworn testimony of Cohen blew the \u201cTrump Knew Everything!!!\u201d story out of the water, The ComPost had no reason to protect Davis. CNN, on the other hand, continues to stand by their fake news story.<\/p>\n That is one reason why, out of many, that CNN is considered nothing more then a propaganda organ for the CommuNazi Party. They have been caught manufacturing so many fraudulent stories over the years that no one believes them any longer. This recent fiasco with Lanny Davis isn\u2019t going to help matters. The only way to fix CNN is a total house cleaning, starting at the top. Get rid of the management that not only allows these things to happen, but encourages it, and work your way down and start getting rid of these \u201cJournalists\u201d who can\u2019t be bothered to do the actual leg work required in reporting actual news.
