Good day all. We haven\u2019t heard from Al Gore lately, but he must be speaking out on his favorite subject, Global Warming. Why do I say this? The long term forecast is for extreme cold weather, that\u2019s why.<\/p>\n

When Al Gore started screeching about Global Warming, people noticed that it started snowing and getting a lot colder. In fact, it became a joke that when Al Gore planned to give a speech, you could count on it being snowed out. Now reports from actual scientists are saying that we can expect some extreme cold weather up here in the North East. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Climate researchers are sounding the alarm on a polar vortex that\u2019s predicted to sweep through the U.S.\u2019 east coast later this month and inflict one of the harshest winters in years, The Washington Post reported<\/a>. <\/b><\/p>\n

Oh that must have really frosted the editors nuts at the Washington ComPost. (Pun intended) They\u2019ve been big boosters of the \u201cThe Earth is going to get hotter and we\u2019re all gonna DIE!!!\u201d theory. They\u2019ve also been, along with Al Gore and the Progressive Elites around the world, big on socking it to the working people and the taxpayers, particularly Americans.<\/p>\n

Judah Cohen, a researcher from Atmospheric and Environmental Research<\/a>, told the outlet his climate models indicate a vortex is likely to hit in late December or early January. A polar vortex disruption occurs when the stratosphere \u2013 which is above the troposphere where weather occurs \u2013 suddenly warms, causing winds to decrease or change direction. The vortex will then be displaced and split apart, spilling cold air into the mid-latitudes. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cConfidence is growing in a significant PolarVortex disruption in the coming weeks. This could be the single most important determinant of the weather this winter across the Northern Hemisphere,\u201d Cohen wrote on his blog and Twitter feed last week. <\/b><\/p>\n

That works for me. I don\u2019t care for that kind of cold, but the old saying \u201cTo cold to snow\u201d is generally true. When it gets as cold as they\u2019re predicting, the air dries out and snow can\u2019t form. That means a lot less shoveling for me. On the other hand, if last year is any guide, my heating bills are going through the roof again.<\/p>\n

Last year a vortex that originated in Eurasia swept eastern North America, causing windstorms that lasted weeks. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cWe were still feeling the impacts into the end of April,\u201d Cohen said. <\/b><\/p>\n

Oh boy, do I remember that! It was so damned cold that I had to buy some heavier then usual cold weather gear.<\/p>\n
