Now Amazon is thinking of canceling the move, along with all the new jobs that New York so desperately needs. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Amazon<\/a> is reconsidering opening part of its second headquarters in New York after fierce opposition from lawmakers, according to a new report. <\/b><\/p>\n The Washington Post, which is also owned by Amazon founder and CEO Jeff Bezos, reported<\/a> the Seattle-based tech giant is reconsidering the plan and has not leased or purchased any office space for the project. The report cited two people familiar with the company’s thinking. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cThe question is whether it\u2019s worth it if the politicians in New York don\u2019t want the project, especially with how people in Virginia and Nashville have been so welcoming,\u201d one person familiar with the company\u2019s plans told the Post. <\/b><\/p>\n This shows just how moronic the CommuNazis, formally Democrats, have become. New York is losing population, and more importantly to the rulers of the state, taxpayers. When Amazon announced the plan to come to New York, they were going to bringing good paying jobs and a lot of them. That would have meant more taxes for the moonbats to waste. Now? It looks like Amazon is gong to say \u201cWell, since you don\u2019t want us here, see ya!\u201d<\/p>\n The Post added that no specific plans to abandon New York have been made and it’s possible Amazon could use them as a threat to pressure New York lawmakers. According to a December Quinnipiac University poll, 57 percent of New York City residents support Amazon\u2019s arrival in the region, compared to just 26 percent who oppose the deal, Fox Business reported<\/a>. <\/b><\/p>\n The problem here, is that those 26% are the ones running New York right into the ground. They claim to care about the \u201cWorking Class,\u201d but as we\u2019ve been seeing in the last few months, the only thing they care about with regards to the working class is how much money they can lot from them.<\/p>\n Last month, New York City Council Speaker Corey Johnson said no one should assume it’s a “done deal.” “I don’t think anyone should assume that this is a fait accompli, and that this is a done deal,” Johnson told Business Insider<\/a>. “This is the beginning of a process where the public and the City Council and other elected officials are going to continue to seek answers and understand whether or not this is a good deal for New York City, or if we got played.”<\/strong><\/p>\n There is no question that Amazon sought out a good deal. They would be remiss in their responsibility to their shareholders if they didn\u2019t. Even if the tax breaks were a bit over the top, you also have to consider the ripple effect. 25K permanent jobs, and these wouldn\u2019t have been minimum wage ones either, not to mention the thousands of construction jobs that would have opened up for the new buildings. (Or renovating old ones)<\/p>\n Amazon has taken heat from a range of public officials, including the aforementioned Ocasio-Cortez, as well as state Sen. Michael Gianaris and New York City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer. <\/b><\/p>\n Doing a small amount of research, it appears that Sen. Michael Gianaris has never worked in the Dreaded Private Sector. As for New York City Councilman Jimmy Van Bramer? He\u2019s a typical political hack, and has also never held a real job in his life. (As near as I can tell) Living off the taxpayers is all they\u2019ve ever done it seems. As for Occasional-Cortex? She\u2019s just plain stupid.<\/p>\n Amazon said it would bring 25,000 full-time high-paying jobs, approximately $2.5 billion in Amazon investment and eventually 8 million square feet of office space to Long Island City as part of its investment announced in November<\/a>. The Seattle-based company also said that it expects to generate “incremental tax revenue of more than $10 billion over the next 20 years as a result of Amazon\u2019s investment and job creation.” <\/b><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n
