Good day all. When I was but a small child, my parents took me to see the movie Mary Poppins. It\u2019s been a very long time since I\u2019ve watched it, but I remember it as a movie that was magical, and fun to watch. Sadly, according to a white college professor, Mary Poppins is RACIST!!!!<\/p>\n

For those who have never seen the movie, and shame on you, it\u2019s a musical aimed at families about a British Governess, (What we would call an in house baby sitter and house keeper), that takes place in Victorian England. Birth of a Nation it most certainly is NOT. However, the perpetually offended have decided to be offended by some dirt on the actors faces. Here are the details from the Daily Mail<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Dame Julie Andrews\u2019s performance as Mary Poppins is racist, says a US academic who accuses her of \u2018blacking up\u2019 when her face is covered with soot as she dances with chimney sweeps. <\/b><\/p>\n

The scene in which Poppins joins Dick Van Dyke\u2019s Bert and his fellow sweeps on a rooftop for the song Step In Time is one of the best-loved moments in the 1964 Disney classic.<\/strong><\/p>\n

As you can see, everyone is covered in soot. This is what happens when you clean fireplaces and chimneys. It\u2019s a very dirty job. However, it seems that some ignorant, never did an honest days work in his life ivory tower \u201cIntellectual\u201d sees people covered in soot as being in black face and therefore they are racists.<\/p>\n

But writing in the New York Times under the headline \u2018Mary Poppins, and a Nanny\u2019s Shameful Flirting With Blackface,\u2019 Professor Daniel Pollack-Pelzner attacks the scene. Not surprisingly, the film\u2019s legions of devoted fans have reacted with disbelief. <\/b><\/p>\n

I did a quick search on this moron and found his LinkedIn profile. This yoyo is a classic moonbats moonbat. He\u2019s also one of the typical guilty white liberals who like to project their own racism on everyone else.<\/p>\n

The literature professor acknowledges that Poppins\u2019s face is covered with soot because she has gone up the chimney with her charges, Michael and Jane Banks.<\/b><\/p>\n

Nice of you to notice knothead that going up a chimney is a great way to get covered in soot.<\/p>\n

But he writes: \u2018Her face gets covered with soot, but instead of wiping it off, she gamely powders her nose and cheeks and gets even blacker.\u2019 <\/b><\/p>\n

Hello? This was just a plot point by the writers and director. He last thing on any of their minds was turning Mary Poppins into a Minstrel show. (That\u2019s something that Liberals and Progressive like to do)<\/p>\n

He also links the scene to racism in the books by PL Travers, particularly in the 1943 novel Mary Poppins Opens The Door when a housemaid screams at a sweep: \u2018Don\u2019t touch me, you black heathen.\u2019 <\/b><\/p>\n

He writes: \u2018The 1964 film replays this racial panic in a farcical key. When the dark figures of the chimney sweeps Step in Time on a roof, a naval buffoon, Admiral Boom shouts, \u201cWe\u2019re being attacked by Hottentots!\u201d and orders his cannon to be fired at the \u201ccheeky devils\u201d. <\/b><\/p>\n

Extraordinarily, Pollack-Pelzner has even found fault with the recently released sequel Mary Poppins Returns, starring Emily Blunt. He said he was surprised by the song A Cover Is Not The Book because of its reference to a wealthy widow called Hyacinth Macaw, who wears \u2018only a smile\u2019 plus \u2018two feathers and a leaf\u2019. <\/b><\/p>\n

In the original 1934 book Mary Poppins, the character is a \u2018scantily clad negro lady\u2019 who addressed the nanny in a \u2018minstrel dialect.\u2019 The racial references were removed in a 1981 revision of the book. <\/b><\/p>\n

First, I haven\u2019t seen the new Emily Blunt sequel. I\u2019ve heard it is very good. Second, this clown should be thrown off campus. He\u2019s obviously stupid and incompetent. He\u2019s also managed to piss off an awful lot of people. (This may have been his goal all along)<\/p>\n

Fans online have reacted with fury to the professor\u2019s views. One derided the piece as \u2018a candidate for the stupidest New York Times article for some time\u2019. <\/b><\/p>\n

And that\u2019s saying a lot, considering how stupid most of the articles in the New York Slimes are.<\/p>\n

Another said: \u2018Mary Poppins wasn\u2019t flirting with black face! It was soot in their faces from being up a chimney!!!! Stop spreading racism claims on non-racist things like this.\u2019 A third wrote: \u2018Come on now, leave Mary Poppins out of this! Chimney sweeps in London DID have coal dust on their faces. Didn\u2019t make them, or Mary for that matter, racist.\u2019 <\/b><\/p>\n

No, it doesn\u2019t. What it does do is show Daniel Pollack-Pelzner, (and what\u2019s with the hyphenated last name? You see that with married feminazis and old money British families), is a buffoon with perhaps 4 functioning brain cells. This bozo is a college professor, which means he\u2019s teaching this horse manure to your children. I also suspect he\u2019s got tenure which makes it virtually impossible to fire his CommuNazi ass. (Preferably out of a cannon)<\/p>\n

Honestly, I would say that someone should go up to this jerk and kick him in the balls. This can\u2019t be done for two major reasons. The first, and most important, is that it\u2019s against the law. (So please don\u2019t try) The second reason is that there is no target to kick. He has no balls, or they\u2019re so tiny as to be to small a target to hit with the toe of a boot.<\/p>\n

The best way to put this racist moonbat into his place it to utterly belittle him and go out and watch Mary Poppins, both the original and the sequel.<\/p>\n
