Members of the legislature&#8217;s Democratic supermajority argue that these <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/food-drink\/california-lawmakers-propose-soda-tax-banning-cola-at-checkout-areas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">new taxes<\/a> are vital to shore up the state coffers and to provide crucial services such as repairing crumbling infrastructure, cleaning up toxic wells and fighting obesity. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>So, the Ruling Elites in Sacramento are planning on taxing fat? Not at all surprising, considering just how totalitarian Kalifornistan has become. Out there, you literally have no rights, only privileges. Only the \u201cSpecial People\u201d have any rights, and those rights consist of bribing college officials. Pity the rest of the country thinks otherwise. (In most cases of course)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Overall, the California Tax Foundation has added up more than $6.2 billion worth of tax increase proposals pending in the state legislature, with that number expected to rise as bills are amended. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/captain_obvious.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-17187\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/captain_obvious-300x182.jpg?resize=300%2C182\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"182\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/captain_obvious.jpg?resize=300%2C182&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/captain_obvious.jpg?w=370&amp;ssl=1 370w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>But the state\u2019s minority Republican leaders bemoan these new proposals, arguing that Californians are already burdened by some of the highest taxes in the country and the new charges would only worsen the state\u2019s mounting affordability and housing challenges. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201c<b>We have the highest gas tax in the nation and the majority party has gone as far as taxing our air,\u201d California State Senate Republican Leader Shannon Grove said in a statement to Fox News. \u201cNow, they are proposing to tax our water, soda, tires, and more. Higher taxes won\u2019t solve California\u2019s affordability and housing problems, and they will only make things worse.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p>The CommuNazis flat out don\u2019t care. Gavin Newsom to tax drinking water in order to clean up contaminated water in the state\u2019s low-income and rural areas. <\/b><b><a href=\"https:\/\/web.archive.org\/web\/20190608151634\/https:\/\/www.sacbee.com\/news\/politics-government\/capitol-alert\/article224239685.html\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">He told reporters earlier this year that the lack of access<\/a> to safe drinking water in the state is a &#8220;disgrace.&#8221; <\/b><\/p>\n<p>So, he wants to make sure people can\u2019t afford to drink water and then die of dehydration? Good to know. As for all the water issues Kalifornistan has been experiencing for the last 30 years? You have only yourselves to blame. All the plans for new aquifers, canals, cisterns and dams were killed by the Progressive Ruling Elite\u2019s, most of whom live in Beverly Hills and other areas that don\u2019t allow the hoi polloi and general riffraff into.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>The proposal, which if enacted would levy a fee of between 95 cents and $10 a month on residents&#8217; water bills depending on meter readings, has divided members of Newsom\u2019s own party. Tax and fee increases require support from two-thirds of lawmakers and, despite Democrats holding roughly 75 percent of the legislative seats in the state, some representatives from moderate and agricultural strongholds balk at the water tax idea. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>The farmers, what few remain thanks to the idiotic court rulings and policies from Sacramento, need water to grow food. Of course, Moonbats, being stupid, think that food magically appears in supermarkets. Wait until they see the costs skyrocket as local farms stop supplying those markets and only grow food for their own needs, provided they are allowed to in the People\u2019s Democratic Republic of Kalifornistan.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201c<b>A state-imposed tax would not only be an outlier from a national perspective, it would be for California as well,\u201d John Coupal, the president of the Howard Jarvis Taxpayers Association (HJTA), said in a statement. \u201cMoreover, there are other ways to fund the one-time $150 million cost of necessary water system improvements. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Another thing that happens is that there is never a temporary tax. They stay in place forever. We are still paying taxes levied to pay for the Spanish American war over a century ago.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Coupal added: \u201cNot only is there federal funding specifically available for this purpose, California has passed several statewide bonds that have allocated hundreds of millions of dollars for clean water infrastructure improvements.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p>That money was already spent paying off unions. While details have remained vague on how much these taxes would be, Democratic Assemblyman Richard Bloom has supported a 20-cent-per-ounce tax in previous proposals. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201c<b>We have ignored this crisis for too long,\u201d Bloom said in January. \u201cWe are standing on the edge of a cliff and addressing this health crisis requires a multi-pronged approach like the one you see today.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p>And here we have the standard response of the classic totalitarian. Republicans and representatives of the beverage industry argue that the tax would unfairly hurt businesses and consumers, particularly those in lower-income communities. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>The ruling elite doesn\u2019t care. They know what\u2019s good for you and you will comply or else.
