Instead of the Labour Party winning in a landslide, it was the Liberal Party, (The American equivalent of the GOP RINO\u2019s) that carried the day, and in a big way. This is making all of the usual suspects wonder \u201cWhat the Hell happened?\u201d Here are some of the details from News.com.au<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Scott Morrison has swept to victory in a sensational federal election result that defied the polls and cements the Coalition\u2019s power. The Coalition is on track to win government, fending off Labor and Bill Shorten\u2019s efforts to take over as prime minister. <\/b><\/p>\n Now, just to be clear, I do not follow Australian politics at all. While I do know some people in Australia, we don\u2019t talk about the political situation down under. (Mostly due to my being a typical American and not giving a damn about the rest of the world)<\/p>\n <\/p>\n As it stands, the Coalition is headed to form a minority government at least, but could still reach the 76 seats needed to form a majority government. There is no longer any path to victory for Labor. <\/b><\/p>\n Australia uses the Parliamentarian form of government as opposed to our form. (Which happens to be a superior form of course because, AMERICA!) The local elections select their ministers of parliament by voting for the party, not the individual. (In general) The party then selects their leaders and if they can form a government, the party head becomes the Prime Sinister<\/i><\/span> Minister. From what the story is saying, the Labour Party was crushed and has no way to form any sort of government.<\/p>\n In a jubilant victory speech at the Liberal Party official election night function at Sydney\u2019s Sofitel Wentworth hotel, Mr Morrison acknowledged the surprise win saying, \u201cI have always believed in miracles\u201d. <\/b><\/p>\n The Prime Minister said Mr Shorten had contacted him to concede defeat, and said he thanked the Labor leader for his \u201ckind remarks to me and Jenny\u201d. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cI would like to wish him and Chloe and his family all the best and God\u2019s blessings,\u201d he said. <\/b><\/p>\n Well, that is certainly different from what happened here in 2016, at least after the winner was declared. When \u201cThe inevitable winner\u201d Felonia von Pantsuit lost, she was well into her second pitcher of Martinis. (The Felonia von Pantsuit drinking game. When you lose a state you thought you would in, drink a Martini) Once they sobered her up enough, she was able to concede to President-Elect Donald J. Trump.<\/p>\n It wasn\u2019t until the next day that Felonia was able to stand in front of her supporters and give them the news. From what I\u2019ve been reading, the Australian Labour candidate wasn\u2019t smashed out of his gourd and was polite and professional in his concession. (Unlike every losing Democrat ever)<\/p>\n The Coalition\u2019s bombshell triumph comes after repeated polls placed the ALP ahead of the Morrison Government, and the Prime Minister\u2019s demise appeared assured. <\/b><\/p>\n Once again, the pollsters got it wrong big time.<\/p>\n Swings to the Coalition in Queensland turned the election on its head as early figures suggested the Government could hold on. <\/b><\/p>\n In his speech, as he went through and thanked individual Liberal MPs who held on to their seats, he also thanked \u201cpretty much the whole of Queensland\u201d. <\/b><\/p>\n As I mentioned before, I don\u2019t follow Australian politics at all. I have no idea what their equivalent to our \u201cBlue States, Red States\u201d maps are. I\u2019m also not up on the geography of Australia. (That\u2019s what maps are for) From what I can gather, this may have been similar to states like Pennsylvania that were expected to vote Felonia actually voting for President Trump.<\/p>\n As the votes came in confidence began to grown among Liberal supporters. At the official Liberal Party function in Sydney exuberant young Liberal supporters were heard chanting that the Liberals were \u201can election winning machine\u201d. <\/b><\/p>\n I recall seeing the news media\u2019s response on how the 2016 vote was turning out. Early on, it was all Felonia all the time, saying that her victory was assured and that Donald Trump might as well concede right after the first polls closed on the East Coast. Then the actual results started coming in and the MSM went into shock and melted down faster then Chernobyl.<\/p>\n As for the reasons why Labour got their collectiv(ist) clocks cleaned, it was for the same reason as the Democrats did here. They claimed to represent the \u201cWorking class\u201d when all their policies did nothing but hurt them.<\/p>\n \u201cLabor used to be party for the workers, now it\u2019s a party for people who don\u2019t work,\u201d one said<\/b>.<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
