Good day all. There has been an epic disaster in Kentucky. This is the thing that nightmares come from. 45,000 barrels of Jim Beam Burbon have been lost in a fire!<\/p>\n

The fire occurred last week at the distillery in one of the warehouses used to store the Bourbon. Here are the details of this horrific tragedy from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

A Jim Beam facility ablaze in Kentucky<\/a> — with around 45,000 barrels of bourbon<\/a> still inside — continued to burn Wednesday morning, and officials say the fire<\/a> may have been caused by a lightning strike. <\/b><\/p>\n

Woodford County Emergency Management responded to reports of a fire at two Jim Beam buildings on McCracken Pike in Versaille at around 11:30 p.m. Tuesday. <\/b>The agency\u2019s Director, Drew Chandler, told the Courier-Journal<\/a> it wasn\u2019t immediately clear what caused the fire but it first began in one warehouse before quickly spreading to the second. <\/b><\/p>\n

Firefighters were able to put out the flames in the second structure but, as of Wednesday morning, the blaze continued to burn in the first warehouse that held around 45,000 barrels of bourbon.<\/b><\/p>\n

What are we going to do? 10\u2019s of thousands of bottles of Bourbon are gone! Never to be consumed!<\/p>\n

Beam Suntory, the company that owns Jim Beam, told Fox News in an email that the product availability would not be affected by the fire.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cWe operate 126 barrel warehouses in Kentucky that hold approximately 3.3 million barrels for our brands, and the warehouse that was destroyed contained 45,000 barrels of relatively young whiskey from the Jim Beam mash bill,\u201d\u2019 the statement said. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cGiven the age of the lost whiskey, this fire will not impact the availability of Jim Beam for consumers.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Oh thank GOD! We\u2019re saved from that most dreaded of times, SOBRIETY!! Even now, hundreds of surgeons who specialize in liver transplants are breathing a sight of relief. This could have been an economic nightmare. Think of all the pilots who have to fly 737 MAX\u2019s. Would you want to be sober if you knew that the plane you\u2019re flying was going to kill you? If you\u2019re going to die, then at least die happy.<\/p>\n

Ok, enough with the silliness. I haven\u2019t had any Jim Beam in a very long time. I don\u2019t care for hard liquor. I\u2019m also given to understand, (Although I am no expert), that Jim Beam is not considered the highest quality adult beverage. Still, a smaller distillery could have been put out of business with a loss like that.<\/p>\n
