Maybe as much as 100 percent. <\/b><\/p>\n During his visit to New York\u2019s Hamptons for a fundraiser<\/a> Aug. 9, the president reportedly told attendees he was thinking about hitting France where it may hurt most \u2013 by slapping a 100 percent tariff on French wine<\/a>. <\/b><\/p>\n The president\u2019s remarks, which two sources relayed to Bloomberg, were a follow-up to a Twitter message in late July, in which Trump wrote the U.S. planned \u201ca substantial reciprocal action\u201d against France for its digital tax on American tech. <\/b><\/p>\n And that caused all the elitist Bloomberg readers to wet their \u201cBloomers\u201d. As to the reason why, it\u2019s simple. The Europeans have pretty much looted everything from their local business and people, and now they are trying to loot American companies as well as the American people to pay for their failed states.<\/p>\n That week, French President Emmanuel Macron approved what was called a digital services tax<\/a> — a 3 percent levy that targets global companies worth at least 750 million euros ($834 million) and 25 million euros in France. It will be retroactively applied from early 2019 and could generate up to 400 million euros per year for France. <\/b><\/p>\n Ahh, the French. They are always there right when they need you, and always with one hand out and the other in your pocket.<\/p>\n This coming Monday the U.S. Trade Representative\u2019s office is scheduled to hold a public hearing with American tech leaders about the potential impact of France\u2019s tax, the Bloomberg report said<\/a>. Depending on their comments, trade boss Robert Lighthizer could recommend that Trump impose tariffs on France in response. <\/b><\/p>\n And what is President Trump considering to put tariffs on?<\/p>\n In his July tweet, Trump concluded with the line, \u201cI\u2019ve always said American wine is better than French wine\u201d \u2013 even though Trump has claimed over the years that he never drinks alcohol. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cIt might be on wine, it might be on something else,\u201d Trump then told reporters about his plan. <\/b><\/p>\n Because France is part of the European Union, it\u2019s unclear how Trump could specifically target the country without ensnaring the entire bloc. <\/b><\/p>\n And this is a problem, why? The entire European Union is nothing more then the Ruling Elite\u2019s way of looting the planet for their own benefit. Democracy, either the Republican form or the Parliamentarian form mean nothing to the Brussels Bureaucrats who actually run things.
