Good day all. It\u2019s been a couple of weeks since Michael A. \u201cBloomies\u201d Bloomberg announced he was buying the presidency in 2020. Of course, Bloomies has a small problem. He has to actually get people to vote for him first.<\/p>\n

Still, the Mayor with a Napoleonic complex and the height to match isn\u2019t one to let a little thing like voters stand in his way. He\u2019s already telling the Red Chinese how much he admires their totalitarian way of doing things. Here are the details from the Intelligencer<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

At first glance, Michael Bloomberg\u2019s campaign for the Democratic nomination looked like the answer to a question no one asked. <\/b><\/p>\n

Perhaps a <\/b>few<\/b><\/em> Democratic-primary voters were pining for a corporate-friendly centrist who lacked Joe Biden\u2019s appeal to nonwhite people and one-upped his baggage<\/a> on issues of racial justice<\/a>, financial regulation<\/a>, entitlement spending<\/a>, and sexual harassment<\/a>. But while this constituency may be large enough to fully staff a \u201cConscious Capitalism\u201d panel at Davos, it seems far too small to supply the billionaire with a plurality of Democratic delegates.<\/b><\/p>\n

I wouldn\u2019t call Bloomies a \u201cCentrist.\u201d I would call him a petty little tyrant.<\/p>\n

It\u2019s now clear, however, that Bloomberg is casting a wider net. In a recent interview<\/a> with PBS \u2014 which recirculated on social media on Sunday<\/a> \u2014 the former New York mayor signaled that he intends to run in the \u201cunrepentant Stalinist\u201d lane of the Democratic primary. <\/b><\/p>\n

Asked by <\/b>Firing Line<\/b><\/em>\u2019s Margaret Hoover about how the U.S. can get China and India to be good partners in the fight against climate change, Bloomberg argued that the Chinese Communist Party was ecologically friendly, democratically accountable, and invulnerable to the threat of revolution. <\/b><\/p>\n
