Good day all. If this is a day ending in a \u201cY\u201d then Kalifornistan is looking at yet another part of the Constitution to abolish. In this case, they are going after the 1st<\/sup> Amendment protections regarding speech and religion.<\/p>\n

The People\u2019s Democratic Republic of Kalifornistan was once known as the State of California. Then, about 30 years ago, the nuts took over and proceeded to turn the state into Venezuela north. They have been regulating and suppressing anything that smacks of individual rights and personal freedoms for some time now, starting with the 2nd<\/sup> Amendment. Now they are moving on to the 1st<\/sup> Amendment, in this case, telling pastors what they can say. Here are the details from Prophecy News Watch<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

In the latest and most egregious example of attempted government overreach, California legislators have proposed a bill that would dictate what pastors preach from the pulpit.<\/b><\/p>\n

Specifically, “Assembly Concurrent Resolution 99 calls on ‘counselors, pastors, religious workers, educators’ and institutions with ‘great moral influence’ to stop perpetuating the idea that something is wrong with LGBT identities or sexual behavior. ACR 99 also condemns attempts to change unwanted same-sex attraction or gender confusion as ‘unethical,’ ‘harmful,’ and leading to high rates of suicide.”
\nPut another way, these legislators are telling pastors and spiritual leaders to throw out the Bible, disregard the Lord’s will, ignore the testimony of thousands of ex-gays, and conform to extreme political correctness — or else.<\/b><\/p>\n

Now to begin with, I stumbled across this site by following a link from a different site, probably the Drudge Report, (Sorry, I don\u2019t recall where). However, I also wanted to see who else was covering this story and surprising no one, none of the main stream news sites appear to have this information. I did do a search and found a number<\/a> of similar religious based web sites talking about the bill. Feel free to research this yourselves.<\/p>\n

Also, it appears that this was passed in the Kalifornistan<\/a> Senate last summer, so I am way behind the curve. I have no information if it has moved through the house or ended up on the governor\u2019s desk. If it had, I have no doubt Newsom would have or will sign it. I have a bit more information from the Washington Examiner<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The text of the resolution includes repeated philosophical and practical statements about human sexuality: \u201cThe California State Legislature has found that being lesbian, gay, bisexual, or transgender (LGBTQ) is not a disease, disorder, illness, deficiency, or shortcoming,\u201d but most of the bill outlines the aversion the state Assembly supposedly has to \u201cconversion therapy\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Washington Examiner also includes the test of the bill regarding the various therapies regarding not being gay. Now I don\u2019t have an opinion on any of this, other then to say if someone wants to seek out advice, counseling or treatment, then it is their right. When the state needs to get involved is when force is used. (This also includes force by the state)<\/p>\n

Several doctors, counselors, activists, and other Christian leaders signed a <\/b>letter<\/b><\/u><\/a> condemning the resolution, which they said violates their religious freedoms. \u201cReligious leaders have the constitutionally protected right to teach religious doctrine in accordance with their faith, and politicians have no right to tell clergy what is moral, dictate the content of their sermons, or instruct them in religious counseling,\u201d they wrote.<\/b><\/p>\n

Of course the Progressives want to suppress the religious organizations, (With the exception of Islam of course). They want to do things that most religions are diametrically opposed to. As far as the Moonbats, Progressives, Liberals and Democrats, (But I\u2019m repeating myself), are concerned, free speech and thought is evil and must be banned.<\/p>\n

In an analysis arguing against the bill, <\/u><\/a>the Capitol Resource Institute echoed their sentiments, “The issue at hand is one of choice. It is the goal of ACR 99 to eventually criminalize one’s choice to seek counseling and other services should they disagree with sexual desires or urges they are experiencing or struggling with. People looking for change to fit internal desires of their conscience and heart should be free to find services and ACR 99 Page 3 resources from counselors, schools, and faith-based organizations to help them achieve their desired goals and outcomes.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now there is some good news. It doesn\u2019t look like this load of unconstitutional horse manure has any criminal ramifications to it…yet.<\/p>\n

The resolution, which has no real legal teeth behind it, goes to the Senate for a vote. If passed, it will be interesting to see if the Assembly authors an actual piece of legislation that would include punitive measures towards religious people if they did not outwardly support the LGBTQ community as outlined.<\/b><\/p>\n

Oh, I think they will, although I would expect them to put an exemption for Islam. Why Islam? First, like most religions, they consider homosexuality a sin. Unlike most religions, they will kill homosexuals. Why would they put an exemption in for Islam? Because the Muslims will go jihad on the state Legislature of they were to go after an Imam or whatever they call their version of a priest, rabbi or preacher.<\/p>\n

The whole thing is blatantly unconstitutional of course, and if they tried to enforce it, it would be challenged in court and tossed out. (Provided the legislature wasn\u2019t suicide car bombed by an angry Muslim) Even the 9th<\/sup> Circus in it\u2019s heyday would look askance at this if it reached them. For those of you who don\u2019t know what the 1st<\/sup> Amendment says, (And shame on you), here it is:<\/p>\n

Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances.<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n
