As we ride out the \u201cGreat Panicdemic of 2020,\u201d only going out f our bunkers in search of the elusive role of toilet paper, some good news has come out of the People\u2019s Democratic Republic of Kalifornistan. The state legislature has suspended meeting for the first time in 158 years.<\/p>\n

For a short period of time, the slaves, peons and serfs of Kalifornistan will be safe from the \u201cever so intellectually superior Progressive Liberal Elite\u2019s infesting the legislature. They\u2019re all terrified that the China Flu might infect them and the precious progressive worthies might have to visit the same medical facilities as the illegal aliens and other victims of their politically correct views. The California<\/a> Legislature approved up to $1 billion in new spending on Monday to combat the <\/b>coronavirus <\/b><\/a>outbreak, then suspended their work for the next month to try and contain the illness.<\/b><\/p>\n

It is believed to be the first unexpected work stoppage in the California Legislature in 158 years, according to Alex Vassar, an unofficial legislative historian at the California State Library. And it came on the heels of extraordinary bipartisanship, as Republicans and Democrats alike voted overwhelmingly to give Gov. Gavin Newsom broad authority to spend during the crisis without their oversight.<\/b><\/p>\n

Giving that totalitarian thug Newsom unfettered power, which he WILL abuse, is a flat out idiotic idea. Given half a chance, Newsom will declare himself \u201cGovernor for life,\u201d and institute the police state he and many other Progressive Totalitarian Democratic CommuNazis have so long wanted.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is a request to step away from our desks much earlier than we would like. The demands of public health require it,\u201d Assembly Speaker Anthony Rendon said.<\/b><\/p>\n

No, it\u2019s the demands of gutless cowards refusing to do the jobs they were elected to do. Frankly, the best thing that could happen is that the entire state government of Kalifornistan catches the WooHoo Flu. Then the regular people will have to actually think for themselves.<\/p>\n

The only time lawmakers did unexpectedly suspend their meetings was in 1862, when a flood consumed most of Sacramento and, legend has it, forced newly elected Gov. Leland Stanford to use a boat to attend his inauguration. Lawamkers missed a few days before reconvening in San Francisco to continue their work, according Vassar. <\/b><\/p>\n

So floods, natural disasters and terrorist attacks only caused minor delays, but a virus that has infected perhaps 800K people WORLD WIDE, causes them to wet their pants and hide in their personal bunkers, surrounded with thousands of roles of toilet paper and hundreds of gallons of hand sanitizer?<\/p>\n

In 1919, during a flu pandemic, at least five lawmakers had symptoms and had to be quarantined. Leaders discussed whether lawmakers should stop meeting, but eventually decided to \u201cdisinfect the Capitol daily and to keep meeting,\u201d Vassar said. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cIt is an extremely rare occurrence for the Legislature to stop meeting during the regular session,\u201d Vassar said.<\/b><\/p>\n

That was the tail end of the Spanish Flu I believe, and that was a real Pandemic. I guess that shows what a bunch of whinny, sniveling little crybabies the current elected officials actually are, on both sides of the aisle.<\/p>\n

The legislation approved Monday gives Gov. Gavin Newsom $500 million to spend \u201cfor any item for any purpose\u201d related to his March 4 declaration of emergency. In the future, Newsom could increase that spending by increments of $50 million \u2014 but only if he tells lawmakers about it three days in advance. The spending is capped at $1 billion. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cBy taking this action we are placing an extraordinary degree of trust in Gov. Gavin Newsom. However, these are extraordinary times,\u201d said Republican Assemblyman Jay Obernolte.<\/b><\/p>\n

So, if Newsom decides he wants to spend money on getting solid gold furnishings for his office, all he has to do is say \u201cHi, I\u2019m spending a ton of money. Have a nice day!\u201d and then place his order? What were these morons thinking? Oh who am I kidding. Thinking is not something any of these morons are actually capable of.<\/p>\n

State law bans lawmakers from voting on bills unless they have been available for public review for at least three days. But lawmakers can waive that law if the governor asks them to. Newsom did that on Monday. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cToday I write to you to state the obvious: we must rise to the challenge facing our state with every tool at our disposal and without a second of delay,\u201d Newsom wrote in a letter to the Legislature. \u201cWe cannot hesitate to meet this moment.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Lawmakers overwhelmingly voted to approve his request. <\/b><\/p>\n

Newsom has shown himself to be a blithering idiot and a closet totalitarian. Thanks to his policies, along with the policies of his predecessor and the Kalifornistan legislature, the Wuhan Flu is digging in nicely. I expect Newsom to spend every single dime he can before this Panicdemic finally fades away, and then the legislature, looking at the gaping hole they\u2019ve made in the budget, will once again ram through even higher taxes and fees, further impoverishing the serfs.<\/p>\n

Perhaps this time, the voters out there will actually pull their collective heads from their alimentary canals and replace the whole lot of them. Oh, who the hell am I kidding? The collectivist sheep in the People’s Democratic Repulik of Kalifornistan will simply continue voting for the same class of moonbats, progressives and liberals who have run the state right into the ground.<\/p>\n
