Good day all. Recently, due to the China flu, President Trump signed an executive order that activating the Defense Production Act<\/a>. This law allows President Trump, or any president, in times of emergency, the ability to basically take over factories.<\/p>\n

However, although he has the authority, President Trump hasn\u2019t acted on it. He hasn\u2019t needed to since businesses have been stepping up to handle the manufacturing needed for certain items in short supply. One of these items are ventilators. While I really don\u2019t know how they are used, apparently they are a critical part in helping people with respiratory problem breath.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve read that hospitals in Italy have run out and are having problems getting more. When people fund out about this, those with 3D printers and the ability to write code for them stepped up, took some ventilators and set about copying them using plastic. It wasn\u2019t known if they would last or could be easily sterilized, but they came up with some designs.<\/p>\n

The problem then came from the companies that hold the patents. Rather then work with these people, they\u2019ve been trying to shut them down. From what little I\u2019ve heard, the 3D printer operators have told the companies to pound sand,<\/p>\n

In the United States, we have major companies that are stepping up to make these things out of metal, and President Trump is challenging them to make good and do god. Here are the details from Fox Business<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

President Trump<\/a> touted private companies Ford, General Motors and Tesla for agreeing to manufacture ventilators and “other medical products” as hospitals scramble to ensure they have supplies for the growing coronavirus<\/a> crisis. <\/b><\/p>\n

“Ford, General Motors and Tesla are being given the go ahead to make ventilators and other metal products, FAST! @fema Go for it auto execs, lets see how good you are?” the president wrote on Twitter<\/a> on Sunday. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Vice President Mike Pence, leader of the White House coronavirus task force, said on Saturday that Health and Human Services had ordered “hundreds of millions of N-95 masks that will be made available to health care providers across the country.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Trump invoked<\/a> the Defense Production Act last week, but FEMA Administrator Pete Gaynor told “Meet the Press<\/a>” on Sunday they have not had to use it and companies have volunteered. <\/b><\/p>\n

“Will we have to use it? Maybe. … We are working to source from all different kinds of manufacturing. … Will we ever have enough? I’m not sure,” Gaynor said. “We’ll triage as we go.” <\/b><\/p>\n

The fact that companies are doing their patriotic and public duty and stepping up is good and honestly, I don\u2019t see the act being actually used. This isn\u2019t sitting well with the Democratic CommuNazis in House, starting with our favorite blithering idiot, Alexandria Occasional-Cortex. In a story on Fox News<\/a>:<\/p>\n

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez<\/a>, D-N.Y., called on President Trump on Sunday to put the Defense Production Act into play and order the emergency production of medical supplies, arguing that the president\u2019s reluctance to do so will \u201ccost lives\u201d as New York quickly becomes the epicenter of the coronavirus outbreak<\/a> in the United States. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThere are not enough face masks, gloves, ventilators, hospital beds to get us through this,\u201d Ocasio-Cortez said during an interview on CNN\u2019s \u201cState of the Union.\u201d \u201cMany hospitals are already at capacity or approaching capacity. And there is kind of no real stream in sight from the federal government on where these materials are coming from.<\/b><\/p>\n

She added: \u201cThe fact that the president has not really invoked the Defense Production Act for the purpose of manufacture of emergency manufacture is going to cost lives.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

How this moron manages to breath on her own is a mystery to me. She has absolutely no idea how business works. This isn\u2019t going to stop her and the other CommuNazis in the House, such as senile San Fran Nan, from demanding the nationalization of pretty much everything. It\u2019s people like her that have run every socialist and communist country right into the ground, the latest being Venezuela. Returning to the original Fox News story<\/a>, manufacturers are already looking to ramp up asap.<\/p>\n

GM, Ventec Life Systems and StopTheSpread.org<\/a>, a coordinated private-sector response to COVID-19, are collaborating<\/a> so that Ventec can increase its production of respiratory care products as hospitals across the U.S. face a potential ventilator shortage.<\/strong><\/p>\n

“We are working closely with Ventec to rapidly scale up production of their critically important respiratory products to support our country’s fight against the COVID-19 pandemic,” GM CEO Mary Barra said in a statement on Friday. “We will continue to explore ways to help in this time of crisis.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Now this is the way things get done. The government says to private industry, \u201cHey! Guys! We need something and we need asap! Don\u2019t need to do designs or invent something, we just need more of what\u2019s already in production.\u201d What Occasional-Cortex and the other moonbats would do is take over, put their own cronies, who would be selected for political correctness, not competence or experience, in charge. They would start issuing their orders and in very short order, will have everyone walking off the job.<\/p>\n

President Reagan had it right. Government is never the solution to a problem. Usually, government is the cause of the problem in the first place. President Trump has the stick if he needs it, but it looks like he won\u2019t. Businesses are stepping up and looking at the best way to provide the healthcare providers with the tools and supplies they need.<\/p>\n

I wrote this a few days ago. Yesterday, (Friday March 27th) a very annoyed President Trump landed on General Motors for playing games and told them to get to work or else.<\/p>\n
