Good day all. Since the Great Panicdemic of 2020 began, many corporations have stepped up and asked \u201cHow can we help?\u201d A few have been screwing around and have been called out by President Trump, and a very few have forced him to bludgeon the CEO\u2019s with the Defense Production Act.<\/p>\n

One of the companies that should know better, but apparently doesn\u2019t, is 3M Corporation. They\u2019re already set up to make the needed ventilators and N25 masks we need. Have they done so? Yes. Have they been supplying American hospitals and medical professionals? Apparently not. They have been caught shipping the needed materials overseas, and now they\u2019ve been hammered upside the virtual head, and they don\u2019t like it. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Minnesota-based 3M has come under fire for exporting<\/a> U.S.-made masks and other protective <\/b>equipment<\/b> to Canada and Latin America. On Thursday, President Trump invoked the Defense Production Act to order 3M to prioritize orders of N95 masks for the federal government’s national stockpile.<\/b><\/p>\n

Every other American Company that can make these masks has been stepping up to the task, and they\u2019re trying as best they can to fulfill the orders. Most of them aren\u2019t really configured to make these products, so it takes time to retool and ramp up. 3M was already set up to make these masks. They should have been shipping them to American hospitals within hours of getting the orders.<\/p>\n

We\u2019re not happy with 3M, we\u2019re not happy and the people that dealt with it directly are not at all happy with 3M,\u201d Trump said during the White House coronavirus task force briefing earlier Friday. <\/b><\/p>\n

As for 3M, they\u2019re making excuses.<\/p>\n

3M CEO Mike Roman told Fox Business Network’s “Maria Bartiromo’s Wall Street” Friday that the company sells its respirators “through authorized distributors and we sell directly to governments and the distributors take those to customers that have the greatest needs and we\u2019ve been working with FEMA in the U.S. to make sure we are prioritizing those with the greatest need \u2026 A small percentage, less than 10 percent of our respirators in the United States are exported to Canada and Latin America to support their health care<\/a> workers. We are often the sole provider of those respirators in those countries.”<\/b><\/p>\n

And my answer, which reflects that of most Americans is, \u201cSucks to be them.\u201d The fact is, you were told to dedicate 100% of your U.S. production to the American market. Instead, you decided that being a good globalist was more important.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs we’ve been telling the administration for days and days,\u201d Roman added, \u201cWe’re happy to ship our overseas production to the U.S. However, there are consequences on a humanitarian level and that includes stopping exports to Canada and Latin America.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Yeah, that\u2019s not playing to well right now dumbass.<\/p>\n

Navarro accused 3M of “acting like a sovereign nation” and said the company’s public relations department “thinks it’s the State Department.”<\/p>\n

He said that U.S. companies will and should continue to export goods, but added that 3M brass have to stop “whining and spinning” and work on behalf of the American people. <\/b><\/p>\n

That would be a first for them.<\/p>\n

“We don’t have the hours, much less the minutes to deal with them,” said Navarro, in response to which host Tucker Carlson remarked endearingly that the trade adviser continues to be “the most blatant public official in government.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Someone has to be the hammer in cases like this. For to long, far to many CEO\u2019s have forgotten that they are Americans, (Unless they\u2019re not), and have decided that being a \u201cGood global citizen\u201d is far more important then taking care of the country they are citizens of.<\/p>\n

It isn\u2019t just American companies either. You see this in Europe as well. Not so much in the Asian world or South America. If Roman doesn\u2019t like being nagged at, then he can do what he\u2019s supposed to be doing. Personally, I think it\u2019s time to ask the shareholders to look into 3M and see if new leadership is called for.<\/p>\n
