Good day all. Kalifornistan governor Gavin Newsom has been showing the people of Kalifornistan just what he thinks of them. Basically, very little. Recently, he agreed to a billion dollar deal with a Chinese company to get protective masks and isn’t bothering with any oversight.<\/p>\n

This has raised any number of questions, and people are starting to ask them. The first step in this, is to gain access to the records, and this is where the problem is. Newsom has refused to release the records. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

California Gov. Gavin Newsom<\/a> has denied a public records’ request from the Los Angeles Times seeking details into a nearly $1 billion deal for protective masks from a Chinese car manufacturer.<\/a> <\/b><\/p>\n

Newsom’s office has been criticized over lack of transparency into the contract for weeks and the latest refusal will likely raise even more suspicions. The paper reported<\/a> that his office has insisted that disclosure into the deal with BYD, which stands for Build Your Dreams, could jeopardize the mask delivery. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cPublishing the agreement now \u2013 before performance under the contract is complete \u2013 would introduce substantial and unnecessary risk to the State\u2019s ability to secure necessary supplies,\u201d Ryan Gronsky, an attorney with the Governor\u2019s Office of Emergency Services, wrote to the Times. <\/b><\/p>\n

Newsom might want to talk with the Italians and the Canadians regarding getting Personal Protective Equipment, (PPE), from China. The Italians actually had to buy back the PPE they had donated to China and the Canadians have found that the PPE they ordered is junk.<\/p>\n

Last month, Newsom, a Democrat, told MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow that Sacramento had just inked a deal to buy 200 million masks monthly, which was considered at the time to be a massive haul amid the international scramble for protective gear needed in the fight against the coronavirus.<\/b><\/p>\n

It\u2019s amazing what you can do when the legislature gives the governor a blank check and no oversight.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs a nation-state, with the capacity to write a check for hundreds of millions, no billions, of dollars, we\u2019re in a position to do something bold and big,\u201d Newsom told reporters the next day. <\/b><\/p>\n

And congratulations Governor, you have just seceded from the United States. It damn well took you long enough. Oh wait, you haven\u2019t? Then would you care to explain how you think Kalifornistan is a nation-state, because it isn\u2019t. It is a state that is part of the nation of the United States of America. The People\u2019s Republic of China is a nation-state, as is India and France. Kalifornistan is a boil on the ass of America in serious need of lancing.<\/p>\n

Democratic state Assemblyman Richard Bloom, a budget committee member, said last month details of the BYD deal \u201care very murky.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

The Governor\u2019s Office of Emergency Services told the paper that the contract does not need to be made public. A statement said that the agency determined that \u201call responsive records are exempt from disclosure, including exemptions for records reflecting attorney work product, attorney-client privileged information, or other information exempt from disclosure under federal or state law.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Oh really? How about naming the statutes you lying piece of corrupt trash. Perhaps you have been skimming some of the money and putting it into your personal accounts? Once the legislature decides to get back to work, there are going to be a few who will be asking some very pointed questions. Among those questions, some will have to do with the quality of the product received, and if Kalifornistan actually received what they ordered. Enjoy your time as Governor, Gavin. I suspect you will be another \u201cOne and Done\u201d governor, that is if you make it to the end of your term. (Recall is a good possibility)<\/p>\n
