In this case, it is a Communist for the Washington Compost who has decided that Americans are to stupid to give up their rights and allow the government to rule over them. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/outlook\/widespread-testing-might-not-work-in-america-we-love-our-freedom-too-much\/2020\/05\/14\/4904d6a4-9556-11ea-9f5e-56d8239bf9ad_story.html?utm_campaign=wp_todays_headlines&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;utm_source=newsletter&amp;wpisrc=nl_headlines\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><b>Here are the remarks of Keith Humphreys<\/b><\/a>, a professor of psychiatry at Stanford University and is an affiliated faculty member at Stanford Law School and the Stanford Neurosciences Institute. (In other words, an Ivory Tower Moonbat):<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Public health professionals are focused on expanding coronavirus infection testing nationwide. \u201cTesting is outbreak control 101, because what testing lets you do is figure out who\u2019s infected and who\u2019s not, and that lets you separate out the infected people from the noninfected people and bring the disease under control,\u201d <a href=\"https:\/\/www.npr.org\/sections\/health-shots\/2020\/05\/07\/851610771\/u-s-coronavirus-testing-still-falls-short-hows-your-state-doing\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Harvard professor Ashish Jha<\/a> says. As Tom Frieden, a former director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/opinions\/2020\/04\/22\/what-would-robust-federal-testing-really-look-like-top-expert-explains\/?tid=lk_inline_manual_1&amp;itid=lk_inline_manual_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">told The Washington Post,<\/a> \u201cOur ability to get to the new normal depends to a great extent on our ability to test, isolate, contact trace and quarantine.\u201d Public health leaders are essentially unanimous: This is, they believe, America\u2019s most viable escape route from the pandemic. It\u2019s what has largely contained the virus in multiple countries, including <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/world\/europe\/germany-coronavirus-death-rate\/2020\/03\/24\/76ce18e4-6d05-11ea-a156-0048b62cdb51_story.html?tid=lk_inline_manual_1&amp;itid=lk_inline_manual_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Germany<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/singapore-coronavirus-app-tracking-testing-no-shutdown-how-it-works-2020-3#the-app-tracetogether-can-be-downloaded-from-the-apple-app-store-or-google-play-store-1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Singapore<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/outlook\/2020\/04\/10\/south-korea-is-winning-fight-against-covid-19-us-is-failing\/?tid=lk_inline_manual_1&amp;itid=lk_inline_manual_1\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">South Korea<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/jamanetwork.com\/journals\/jama\/fullarticle\/2762689\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Taiwan<\/a>. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>We weren\u2019t doing to badly ourselves until the Moonbats and criminally corrupt governors, (I\u2019m looking at YOU Andrew Cuomo!) screwed up. As for the CDC? Who makes the tests? Where should they be processed? \u2014 that experts are working to solve. <\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Are these the same \u201cexperts\u201d who came up with the models that were used to destroy the global economy?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>But even a technically sound program is useless without widespread consent.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Wait for it, here it comes!<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>And obtaining such consent \u201cwould require a major reduction in our liberties and a prolonged period of increased surveillance,\u201d<a href=\"https:\/\/www.theguardian.com\/commentisfree\/2020\/may\/10\/johnson-and-starmer-both-know-a-true-exit-plan-means-reducing-our-freedoms\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"> as journalist Stephen Bush<\/a> points out.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>DING! DING! DING! DING! DING! And there it is! In order to be safe, we must surrender our rights. I followed the link from this dumbass&#8217;s column and it leads to the Guardian. For those who aren\u2019t aware, the Guardian is a British periodical that is somewhat to the left of Mao Tse Tung.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Will Americans accept those reductions willingly and quickly enough to implement an effective testing regimen? It\u2019s hard to imagine.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>No it isn\u2019t. Tell me again, how many world wars did their government\u2019s start?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Consider, in contrast, that data from the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.people-press.org\/2019\/04\/11\/public-trust-in-government-1958-2019\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Pew Research Center<\/a> show that only 17 percent of Americans say they trust the federal government to do what is right \u201cjust about always\u201d or \u201cmost of the time.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n<p>We don\u2019t trust our government for a very simple reason. There are to many moonbats like you who want to run our lives. Perhaps you should visit the most popular political party in the country. It isn\u2019t the Republican Party or the Democrat party. It\u2019s the \u201cLeave me the fuck alone!\u201d party. We\u2019ve seen just how inept and incompetent the governments can be, at all levels.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Americans\u2019 relative lack of deference to their government extends to matters of health. Of all wealthy democracies, only in the United States have legions of voters fought for decades to prevent a government guarantee of health care for all citizens.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Well, we have good reason to not want government run healthcare. We\u2019ve seen just how good it is in all the other countries. You know, the ones where they decide if you should be allowed to get the medical treatments you need to actually survive and recover? It gets leaked all over the place and used against individuals that don\u2019t toe the government line.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>The app at the heart of Singapore\u2019s coronavirus tracing system records people\u2019s disease status in a fashion that <a href=\"https:\/\/www.businessinsider.com\/singapore-coronavirus-app-tracking-testing-no-shutdown-how-it-works-2020-3#the-app-tracetogether-can-be-downloaded-from-the-apple-app-store-or-google-play-store-1\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">clearly would be illegal<\/a> under U.S. law. So would the South Korean app that alerts you to the identity of infected people nearby.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>There would also be the problem that if the government you so love to run your affairs were to actually put something like this on people\u2019s phones, those phones would never leave the house, or even be turned on. We do not like being spied on. We barely tolerate the fact that the phones can be tracked and we\u2019re currently fighting the government\u2019s getting that information without a warrant. (Especially the FISA warrants)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Clusters of gun-toting protesters opposing public health measures are a real \u2014 and uniquely American \u2014 problem,<\/b><\/p>\n<p>That\u2019s not a problem asswipe, it\u2019s a feature.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>but it\u2019s the much more prevalent distrust in government\u2019s role in public health that would curtail the success of any test, trace and isolate program.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Considering how your beloved government bureaucracies have royally screwed up this whole panicdemic crap, we know that anything you clowns come up with will fail&#8230;epically.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Public health experts should be thinking through what happens when they introduce the programs they\u2019ve devised. What will we do when millions of Americans flatly refuse to be tested for the virus?<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Oh I can see how they will respond. (According to a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/politics\/americans-expectations-for-safe-public-gatherings-slip-to-july-at-the-earliest-post-u-md-poll-finds\/2020\/05\/12\/7adb92f6-9477-11ea-91d7-cf4423d47683_story.html?tid=lk_inline_manual_8&amp;itid=lk_inline_manual_8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Washington Post-University of Maryland poll<\/a>, only 58 percent of Americans say they are very or somewhat worried about getting the infection and becoming seriously ill.) <\/b><\/p>\n<p>I suspect that poll is about as accurate as the China Virus models that were used to justify locking down the country. In other words, not accurate at all. There is also the issue of the accuracy of those tests, and whether or not the people tested are asymptomatic or even infectious. We already have one example, and this was a nurse who should know better. (Exposed to Ebola and refused to self quarantine and sued successfully. Damn, there\u2019s that pesky freedom thing again)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>What if some governor in a state that refused Medicaid expansion, such as <a href=\"https:\/\/www.washingtonpost.com\/national\/south-dakotas-governor-resisted-ordering-people-to-stay-home-now-it-has-one-of-the-nations-largest-coronavirus-hot-spots\/2020\/04\/13\/5cff90fe-7daf-11ea-a3ee-13e1ae0a3571_story.html?tid=lk_inline_manual_8&amp;itid=lk_inline_manual_8\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kristi L. Noem (R) of South Dakota<\/a>, decides that test, trace and isolate is the next frontier of opposition to big government? <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Governor Noem is also one of the very few governors who did not destroy her state\u2019s economy by locking everyone up in their homes. Funny thing. The number of people who caught the virus should have been massive, but it isn\u2019t, unlike the states of New York and New Jersey. Interesting isn\u2019t it?<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>The public health field is underestimating the extent of these challenges. That is probably because virtually everyone in the field thinks that emergencies of this sort should override concerns about individual privacy and autonomy. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>And they will think that right up until they get a load of double ought buckshot in the face.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Public health schools conform to the broader academic pattern of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.insidehighered.com\/news\/2016\/10\/03\/voter-registration-data-show-democrats-outnumber-republicans-among-social-scientists\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">leaning left<\/a>, including in generally viewing expanded government as a means to a better society. It\u2019s <\/b><i><b>public<\/b><\/i><b> health after all, not private health. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Leaning left? Like the Tower of Piza, they\u2019re leaning so far that only cables are keeping them from falling over. The problem with far to many of them is they have been brought up in the collectivist environment. The individual doesn\u2019t matter, only the collective. If the individual must be sacrificed for the good of the collective, so be it. (Unless they happen top be the individual in question of course)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>You don\u2019t have to venture far off campus to see that many Americans do not share this faith in government or willingness to limit individual freedom and privacy for population benefit.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>No shit Sherlock. Most people these days consider college campuses to be nothing more then political reeducation camps, and if you won\u2019t be reeducated, then you will be punished. They also tend to fold like used toilet paper when confronted by people willing to take them for plane rides and see if they can learn to fly.<\/p>\n<p>Now you and the other collectivist might be perfectly happy to surrender your rights to an all powerful, benevolent, (Allegedly), central government. Most people aren\u2019t. The founders of the country certainly were wary of an all powerful central government. (Ever hear of a guy called King George III by chance? No? How about you crack a history book numbnuts)<\/p>\n<p>Most people aren\u2019t opposed to being tested, either for the Wuhan Flu or the antibodies. What they object to is the government having that information. We\u2019ve seen how they misuse and abuse any authority they have, usually with results that hurt individuals. You don\u2019t like American Freedoms? There are planes leaving the United States all the time. Pick a country that better fits your ideas and move there. Of course, you won\u2019t for a simple reason.
