Now reports are coming in of a major shortage, one that will affect the morale of our forces. Hot Pockets are in critically short supply. Here are the details from Stars and Stripes<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

A snacking staple in many U.S. military barracks could be in short supply into next year as Hot Pockets fall victim to coronavirus supply chain issues. <\/b><\/p>\n

Nestle, which makes the microwavable meat- and cheese-filled crusts that many Americans turned to during pandemic-related lockdowns, told the Army and Air Force Exchange Service and other retailers that it will have \u201csevere inventory constraints\u201d in its Hot Pockets product lines because of the global outbreak, AAFES spokeswoman Julie Mitchell said. <\/b><\/p>\n

Limited quantities will be available, but will be strictly controlled, she said. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cAs a result, Exchange customers may expect to see shortages of Hot Pockets to continue into 2021,\u201d she said. <\/b><\/p>\n

Meaning that the first ones to get them will be the supply Sargent’s followed by the generals and admirals.<\/p>\n

In the early months of the pandemic, as the virus spread and restrictions went into place, Hot Pockets were among the comfort brands filling many American shoppers\u2019 carts, Bloomberg News reported in April<\/a>. <\/b><\/p>\n

Sales of Hot Pockets and other Nestle frozen food brands continued to rise through the second quarter, reaching double-digit percentage growth this summer, officials said in a call with investors in July. <\/b><\/p>\n

However, challenges brought on by continuing uncertainty and the need to keep workers and facilities safe led Nestle to adapt operations to the evolving pandemic, Rubbo said. <\/b><\/p>\n

Hey, the troops have to go out, so it\u2019s only fair that you go to work and make more Hot Pockets. It\u2019s your patriotic duty!<\/p>\n

Military exchanges are expected to continue receiving products but at \u201cadjusted levels,\u201d she said. <\/b><\/p>\n

While I\u2019ve never served, I can safely say that our brave men and women are not happy. In fact, keeping them in Hot Pockets ranks up there with keeping them paid. After all, these are people who, in some cases, have access to nuclear weapons. Anything to help their morale is of great importance, therefore, in the spirit of America, I will forego any purchases of hot Pockets until all the people in the military have sufficient quantities to keep them happy.<\/p>\n
