When the Great Panicedemic of 2020 arrives, the governments at all levels did a number of very stupid things. Granted, in the early days there wasn\u2019t a lot of information. This led to the \u201cLockdown\u201d that was only supposed to last for a couple of weeks that has now stretched to well over a year. The economy, which had been climbing into orbit, was brought to a screeching halt and the Constitution was basically shredded.<\/p>\n
Now the American People are saying enough is enough and have started tearing off the masks and telling their \u201cso called\u201d elected officials that it\u2019s now time to move back to the way things were, one of which is getting the schools back open. This is where the Teachers Union, which has never put educating children on their list of things to do, decided that they liked having their members getting paid for doing pretty much nothing. Here are the details from the New York Post<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n The American Federation of Teachers lobbied the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on, and even suggested language for, the federal agency\u2019s school-reopening guidance released in February.<\/a> <\/b>The powerful teachers union\u2019s full-court press preceded the federal agency putting the brakes on a full re-opening of in-person classrooms, emails between top CDC, AFT and White House officials show. <\/b><\/p>\n The documents show a flurry of activity between CDC Director Dr. Rochelle Walensky, her top advisors and union officials \u2014 with Biden brass being looped in at the White House \u2014 in the days before the highly-anticipated Feb. 12 announcement on school-reopening guidelines. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cThank you again for Friday\u2019s rich discussion about forthcoming CDC guidance and for your openness to the suggestions made by our president, Randi Weingarten, and the AFT,\u201d wrote AFT senior director for health issues Kelly Trautner in a Feb 1 email \u2014\u00a0which described the union as the CDC\u2019s \u201cthought partner.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cWe were able to review a copy of the draft guidance document over the weekend and were able to provide some initial feedback to several staff this morning about possible ways to strengthen the document,\u201d Trautner continued. \u201c\u2026 We believe our experiences on the ground can inform and enrich thinking around what is practicable and prudent in future guidance documents.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n I ask, Why is the Union involved in this? Determining if the schools should be reopened, which they should be, is something handled by the school district and the parents. Of course, if you want to give the Union as much time as possible to make sure the schools don\u2019t reopen, and provide them with the opportunity to edit the guidance in their favor, it makes perfect sense.<\/p>\n The lobbying paid off. In at least two instances, language \u201csuggestions\u201d offered by the union were adopted nearly verbatim into the final text of the CDC document.<\/b><\/p>\n With the CDC preparing to write that schools could provide in-person instruction regardless of community spread of the virus, Trautner argued for the inclusion of a line reading \u201cIn the event of high community-transmission results from a new variant of SARS-CoV-2, a new update of these guidelines may be necessary.\u201d That language appeared on page 22 of the final CDC guidance. <\/b><\/p>\n The AFT also demanded special remote work concessions for teachers \u201cwho have documented high-risk conditions or who are at increased risk for \u2026 COVID-19,\u201d and that similar arrangements should extend to \u201cstaff who have a household member\u201d with similar risks. A lengthy provision for that made it into the text of the final guidance. <\/b><\/p>\n The Teacher\u2019s unions have long been hostile to actually doing the job of teaching children. One of the things the lockdown has done is show parents just how bad a lot of the teachers they\u2019ve been relying on actually are. There have been several incidents where a teacher saw something in a child’s room or house, usually a poster or a pellet gun, something that today\u2019s \u201cProfessional educators\u201d have deemed double ungoodverybad and have called the police. I understand that there are a number of lawsuits regarding this intrusion into a family\u2019s home by these unionized zampolits. Finally, the \u201cGuidance\u201d came out and it was basically giving the Teachers unions everything they wanted.<\/p>\n The final CDC guidance won high praise from the AFT. \u201cToday, the CDC met fear of the pandemic with facts and evidence,\u201d the union said in a Feb 12 press release.<\/a> <\/b><\/p>\n Many others, however, were puzzled and angered by what they saw as the CDC willfully ignoring the science and slow-walking a return to in-person learning even as mounting evidence showed schools were not a primary source of coronavirus infections as long as they followed mitigation strategies. <\/b><\/p>\n In point of fact, children have been the least affected group under this whole panicdemic nonsense. They either don\u2019t get the Kung Flu, or the symptoms are so mild in most cases, that they just throw it off and want to go out and play. Many parents know this and want to know where the Hell the CDC came up with this nonsense. Questions started being asked by the Mostly Stupid Media<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
