It seems to me that forcing people to wear masks that don\u2019t actually do anything is more like tyranny to me.<\/p>\n Lt. Gov. Janice McGeachin issued the order Thursday while Little was attending the annual Republican Governors Association conference in Nashville. <\/b><\/p>\n Under Idaho\u2019s Constitution, the lieutenant governor is the acting governor and has the power to issue executive orders while the governor is out of state, though it is not clear whether that power had been used before. <\/b><\/p>\n Well, there has to be a first time, and showing the people of the state of Idaho that the governor they thought cared about freedom, doesn\u2019t.<\/p>\n McGeachin\u2019s order took effect at 11 a.m. Thursday, hours before Little returned from Nashville to, as he put it, \u201cclean up a mess.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cI have opposed a statewide mask mandate all along because I don\u2019t think top-down mandates change behavior the way personal choice does,\u201d the governor said in a statement<\/a>, adding that McGeachin\u2019s order was \u201ccontrary to a basic conservative principle \u2013 the government closest to the people governs best.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Wrong RINO. While local government is closer to the people, as we\u2019ve been seeing for the last 18 months, they\u2019ve been lying to them and ignoring their desires. There is nothing \u201cConservative\u201d about forcing people to do something that doesn\u2019t have any proven benefit, and interferes with their individual liberties and rights. The way it should have gone was simple. If you wanted to wear a mask, feel free to so. Just leave other people alone.<\/p>\n Little also argued that \u201c[t]aking the earliest opportunity to act solitarily on a highly politicized, polarizing issue without conferring with local jurisdictions, legislators, and the sitting Governor is, simply put, an abuse of power.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Wrong again Moonbat. An abuse of power would be ordering people to do something they didn\u2019t want to. In this case, the Lieutenant Governor did just the opposite. She ended the forced masking of people, but didn\u2019t forbid them from wearing them if they so chose.<\/p>\n The governor went on to claim that McGeachin\u2019s order would have done away with safety requirements for social workers visiting homes of at-risk individuals, at the state testing lab, or at prisons that could have been hit with coronavirus outbreaks. He added that McGeachin\u2019s executive order conflicts with existing laws and told her: \u201cThis is why you do your homework, Lt. Governor.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n One of the reasons that Lt. Governor McGeachin did this, besides being the right thing to do, is to show how she would govern if she were the governor of Idaho. She set Govno Little up very nicely and he took the bait.<\/p>\n \u201cI understand that protecting individual liberty means fighting against tyranny at ALL levels of government \u2014 federal, state, and local,\u201d she wrote. \u201cIt is your God-given right to make your own health decisions, and no state, city, or school district ever has the authority to violate your unalienable rights.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Lt.
