Good day all. When the Great Panicdemic of 2020 hit, the powers that be decided to basically lock everyone up and kill the economy. Most states have since realized that this was a really dumb idea, and several states never ordered a lockdown in the first place.<\/p>\n

Because of these orders, millions of people lost their jobs, and went on unemployment. Benefits were increased and extended. Now that the lock-downs are ending, businesses are reopening and need to hire workers. This is where the problem is. They can\u2019t get anyone to come back to work. Why? Because the benefits they are getting is equal to what they would make on the job.<\/p>\n

The mindset of these people is that they are entitled to not work and get paid for not doing so. Now the states are saying enough is enough and telling these lazy bums to get off their couches and get a job. To really push them back into the workforce, the states are cutting off the Panicdemic benefits early. This is making the deadbeat class very unhappy. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Demonstrators outside the Georgia Department of Labor in Atlanta on Friday protested Georgia’s decision to end federal unemployment benefits<\/a> early, according to local reports. <\/b>Photos posted to social media show people camping in tents outside the state labor department with signs that read, “Black workers matter”; “Stop the war on the poor”; and “We demand affordable childcare.” <\/b><\/p>\n

I love the one that says \u201cBlack Workers Matter.\u201d Yes they do matter, along with all the other workers. Pity that the lazy bastards waving that sign aren\u2019t actually workers. (Any bets on whether or not they\u2019re being paid to be there at the protest?)<\/p>\n

“The process of actually applying for unemployment has been disastrous for all Americans,” Nicole Fears, one of the demonstrators who was laid off from her job as a flight attendant after 26 years, told <\/b>13WMAZ<\/b><\/u><\/a>, a local CBS-affiliated station. “We’re calling for reform, we’re needing Congress to step up to the plate and look out for these workers.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Fears expressed that there are “lots of issues” and “the system is broken.” <\/b><\/p>\n

I do believe that the airlines are starting to rehire people. Have you called them up and asked if they will bring you back on board? You are experienced after all. Or is it that you like having free money shoveled at you while you sit on the couch and watch Oprah all day?<\/p>\n

Another group of four Georgia residents sued the state this week over delayed unemployment benefits, according to Fox 5 Atlanta<\/a>. <\/b><\/p>\n

Do you know what I think the judge should say in that case? \u201cGet a job you lazy bums!\u201d Even with the disastrous Bidenomics kicking in, there are millions of jobs looking to be filled.<\/p>\n

Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and Labor Commissioner Mark Butler announced this week that the $300-per-week benefits, which end for all states on Sept. 6, will end on Saturday in Georgia.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

Critics argue that other factors, such as a lack of child care, are the reason for lackluster hiring and have said that opting out of the relief program before it’s officially slated to end on Sept. 6 will hurt unemployed Americans, leaving them with no income as they search for a new job.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

One of the interesting things that\u2019s begun to happen is that once the welfare payments are shut down, these people actually start looking for and finding jobs. I gather that potential starvation is an excellent motivator. During the Panicdemic, SWMBO lost her job when the company she was with folded. She did get benefits. She also went back to work at another job as soon as she could.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been out of work, and I also got benefits. (not during the Panicdemic. I\u2019m able to work from home, although I prefer being in the office) I prefer to have a job instead of relying on what amounts to welfare. Of course, both SWMBO and myself are rather old fashioned. She\u2019s an immigrant who has a solid work ethic, and I\u2019m the type that prefers to rely on myself, not the government. We need to restart teaching that to the next generation or we are dead as a free nation.<\/p>\n
