{"id":3589,"date":"2011-03-14T06:46:52","date_gmt":"2011-03-14T10:46:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/?p=3589"},"modified":"2011-03-13T15:57:39","modified_gmt":"2011-03-13T19:57:39","slug":"system-upgrades-wordpress-3-1","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/angry.net\/blog2\/?p=3589","title":{"rendered":"System Upgrades, WordPress 3.1"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Good day all, it&#8217;s the Angry Systems Administrator with some news from the bowels of Anger Central.<\/p>\n<p><!--more-->Last weekend, I took the opportunity to upgrade the blog to\u00a0WordPress\u00a03.1.\u00a0This\u00a0has been out for about a month, but I held back and waited until other eager beavers had installed it first.<\/p>\n<p>In other words, I did what Custer should have. I sent out scouts. \ud83d\ude09<\/p>\n<p>It is different, I&#8217;ll say that. One thing I noticed on another site was the addition of a tool bar across the top of the web site. This apparently is meant to let registered users do things depending on their access rights. I&#8217;m still figuring out how it works. Since it doesn&#8217;t interfere with the running of the blog my basic response is &#8220;Meh, leave it.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0back end\u00a0widgets are a bit different, and frankly make sense. Anyone doing links knows what a pain it was to insert them with the old version.\u00a0The\u00a0new version removes a couple of steps.<\/p>\n<p>The plugins we use all seem to work just fine, which is good. All in all it&#8217;s a nice update to WordPress. Of course, since I was expecting a complete disaster, I backed everything up several ways. Thankfully I didn&#8217;t need them. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n<p>One last thing.<\/p>\n<p>How many of you forgot to set your clocks ahead Saturday, March 12?
