Good day all. When the President of the United States appears, the song, \u201cHail to the Chief\u201d is played, usually by the Marine Corps band. There isn\u2019t a song for the appearance of the First Lady, or there wasn\u2019t, until now.<\/p>\n

The United States Marine Corps Band was ordered to come up with a theme for Herr Doktor Jill Biden when she enters a room, and as good Marines, they did. Here are the details from the Washington Examiner<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The Marine Corps band was instructed last fall to come up with an entrance theme for the first lady, a source told the Washington Examiner<\/i>. The band now has in its repertoire an original composition titled \u201cFanfare for the First Lady.\u201d The song, the source said, is essentially Jill Biden’s personal \u201cHail to the Chief,\u201d in that it is to be performed and repeated at official White House functions, from her first appearance until she is ready to speak. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cFanfare for the First Lady\u201d has created both amusement and confusion within the band, with some remarking that in the many years they\u2019ve played in the group, this is the first time the group has had to provide the first lady with an exclusive entrance theme. <\/b><\/p>\n

What genius came up with this stupidity?<\/p>\n

Someone in the White House apparently “had the bright idea, ‘Oh, tell the band that we want music for Jill,'” a source said. \u201cThe band had to provide music.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

The band was \u201crushed\u201d to provide the entrance song for the first lady, the source said, adding the Marine Corps band submitted a few options for the White House\u2019s consideration. The first lady’s handlers settled eventually on the original piece \u201cFanfare to the First Lady.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Now the White House is trying to walk this all back.<\/p>\n

Michael LaRosa, Jill Biden’s press secretary, says the entire story is bunkum. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThe first lady does not have a song anybody has written for her specifically. She has no \u2018Hail to the Chief\u2019 song. She has no song,\u201d he told the Washington Examiner<\/i>. \u201cShe never asked anyone to create a song.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThe White House asked nobody, not one person, to compose an exclusive entry song, or any song, for the first lady,\u201d LaRosa added. \u201cNone of that is accurate.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Which means that the Marine Corps Band was ordered to come up with something.<\/p>\n

In fact, he said, \u201cFanfare for the First Lady\u201d was the band\u2019s idea. He said the band approached the White House with a proposal for new music. \u201cFanfare for the First Lady” wasn\u2019t even initially written for Jill Biden, he continued, adding it’s simply a finalized version of a piece of music that was already nearly completed when the band first broached the topic with the White House. <\/b><\/p>\n

If, in fact, the band was writing something like this, it would have been for Melania Trump. Mrs. Trump was respected by the staff at the White House because she treated them like people. I also suspect that, while honored by the Marine Corps Band, she would have been uncomfortable with this being played every time she made an appearance somewhere. I seriously doubt she would have requested that anything be written for her.<\/p>\n

Though it\u2019s not unusual for the group’s arrangers to be asked to compose music at a moment\u2019s notice, a source told the Washington Examiner<\/i>, it is\u00a0unusual for the first lady to have her own entrance theme. The cherry on top giving the first lady the \u201cHail to the Chief\u201d treatment, the source said, is this: \u201cThe music is just awful.” <\/b><\/p>\n

This is why I suspect that the Marines were ordered to produce something, and quickly. Herr Doktor Jill Biden, unlike Melania Trump, doesn\u2019t appear to be well liked by the staff. They will do their jobs, since they are professionals, but historically, the Democrats tend to view people working in the White House as their personal slaves<\/i><\/span> servants. (Nixon was also reported to have this mentality)<\/p>\n

Apparently, this has happened before, although it wasn\u2019t something a First lady demanded. Apparently, during the administration of the Greatest President of the 20th<\/sup> Century, Ronald Reagan, his first Chief of Staff also demanded something like this.<\/p>\n

In the 1980s, White House historian Tevi Troy said, then-President Ronald Reagan\u2019s onetime chief of staff Donald Regan similarly demanded the band compose an entrance song just for him, much to the chagrin of then-White House deputy chief of staff Michael Deaver and then-U.S. Secretary of the Treasury James Baker. <\/b><\/p>\n

It didn\u2019t end well for Regan. He was canned after two years.<\/p>\n

As for this mess, it will be interesting to see if it\u2019s ever used when Herr Doktor Jill Biden puts in an appearance. I understand that the Ghost of R. Lee Ermy found out and is most unhappy about this.<\/p>\n
