Good day all. This one slipped past me. It seems that New Hampshire, the home state of Anger Central, is looking to legalize marijuana.<\/p>\n

Currently, it\u2019s passed the New Hampshire House of representatives by a veto proof majority, and is now going to the State Senate. For me, I find this as interesting, and not much else. I do not and have not partaken of of marijuana and have no plans to start. On the other hand, if you want to puff away, feel free, just do it down wind. In any case, here are the details from Just the News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

New Hampshire’s GOP-led House of Representatives has voted to approve legalizing marijuana cultivation and possession for personal use in the state, but the measure must survive the likelihood of a veto by Gov. Chris Sununu. <\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019ve voted for Sununu in the past, and, unless there is a good primary challenger, (Please! Please! Someone challenge this RINO!), I\u2019ll probably vote for him again.<\/p>\n

The House on Thursday approved the legislation<\/a>, which would allow adults 21 and older to possess up to three-quarters of an ounce of marijuana and to grow up to six plants. The bipartisan measure passed on a vote of 241-113, which is more than is needed for a veto-proof majority.<\/strong><\/p>\n

\u201cThis is truly a bipartisan issue with strong and wide support from Granite Staters,” state Rep. Mark Warden, R-Manchester, said in remarks ahead of the vote. “The war on cannabis is a war on people. Those people are our neighbors and our constituents.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Hmm, does this mean we won\u2019t be called \u201cGranite Staters\u201d any longer, but \u201cGranite Stoners?\u201d<\/p>\n

Under the plan, marijuana could be “gifted” to others but couldn’t be sold. Retail pot stores, similar to those in neighboring states, would also not be authorized.<\/b><\/p>\n

Umm, Okay, then if there is no place that can legally sell it so you can \u201cGift\u201d it to someone, (Who can then gift you a $20), how are you supposed to get it?<\/p>\n

There would also be penalties for public consumption and breaking the rules on home cultivation, such as growing pot in a publicly visible area.<\/b><\/p>\n

So no growing patches in the state forests or in your back yard? Okay. I think I can work with that. I wonder how much of a markup I can get away with reselling grow lamps? And you can’t smoke it in a bar? Well, that makes sense these days since they are no smoking areas.<\/p>\n

To be sure, this isn’t the first time the 400-member House of Representatives has approved legislation legalizing marijuana. In 2014, the Democrat-controlled House first approved a legalization bill but it failed to pass the Senate. Similar proposals have been refiled every session, but have failed to gain traction.<\/b><\/p>\n

Perhaps they should stop stop filing the bills in winter. All that ice and snow does play merry havoc with traction. Oh, that wasn\u2019t what you meant, was it? Never mind.<\/p>\n

The state has also allowed medical marijuana dispensaries since 2013, but cultivating the drug for personal use is still a felony. Lawmakers approved a bill in 2019 that would have allowed medical pot patients to grow their own supply, but Sununu vetoed it, citing public safety concerns. <\/b><\/p>\n

Safety concerns? Oh! I know! It\u2019s the grow lights. I gather he was worried about short circuits and fires in people\u2019s homes. Yes, that must have been the reason.<\/p>\n

In October, the Legislature’s House Criminal Justice Committee rejected proposals that would legalize and tax marijuana. Republicans who voted against the measure cited opposition to taxing marijuana products.<\/b><\/p>\n

Live Free or DIE! It\u2019s not just a slogan, it\u2019s a way of life! Taxation is theft! If passed this could have opened the door to a state sales tax and we can\u2019t have that!<\/p>\n

While the Granite State decriminalized marijuana possession in 2017, recreational growing and sales are not authorized. <\/b><\/p>\n

The state just needs t figure out a way to get a piece of the action. How about utilizing the state liquor stores?<\/p>\n

The House-approved legalization bill now moves to the state Senate for consideration.<\/b><\/p>\n

And I\u2019m sure it will be shot down in flames. As you may have gathered from my rather sarcastic comments, I don\u2019t care one way or the other on this bill. While I have been around people smoking pot, I have never used it and have no interest in doing so. My reasons for this are…my reasons and none of your damn business. (No I am not a teetotaler. I like a good craft beer. Not IPA\u2019s. They suck)<\/p>\n

Still, if you want to use that stuff, go right ahead. Heck, if you want to mainline Heroin or snort Fentanyl who am I to stop you. Just don\u2019t expect me to help you if you overdose, and that includes paying for any treatments or hospitalization. If you haven\u2019t made arrangements before overdosing, then it sucks to be you. We\u2019ll just shovel your remains off to the nearest landfill for the bears and coyotes to eat. As you can see, I don\u2019t support or oppose any of this. If you want to go through life with this as your theme song, go right ahead. I can’t be bothered enough to care<\/p>\n
