Good day all. The Chicago Teachers Union decided to stop coming into the classrooms and work from home. This caught both the City of Chicago and the parents by surprise. The Union took a vote of their generally useless membership and they decided that they would return to remote classrooms.<\/p>\n

One teacher, who is actually really ill, (Just not with a case of the sniffles<\/i><\/span> covid-19), decided that it was far more important to go into the classroom and teach his young charges. Here are the details from The Blaze<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Chicago Public Schools have been canceled since Wednesday after 73%<\/a> of the Chicago Teachers Union voted to return to remote work because of COVID-19 fears. <\/b><\/p>\n

They actually saw this as a way to not do any real work and get paid for it. The Fauci Flu doesn\u2019t hit children very hard, and the current variant, Omicron, is so mild that most who have it don\u2019t even know.<\/p>\n

However, the school district doesn’t want teachers working remotely, so all classes have been canceled after the union was accused of staging an illegal walkout.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Good! It\u2019s long past time to put these unions in their place. (For me, I think the ash heap of history<\/a>, along with their mentors, the Soviet Union, would be perfect)<\/p>\n

Despite classes being canceled, teacher Joseph Ocol still showed up at his classroom on Wednesday willing to teach his students in person. Ocol is ready to teach in-person classes despite battling cancer. <\/b><\/p>\n

“There were no students, and I was the only teacher there,” Ocol told WBBM-TV<\/a>. “I miss my students. It\u2019s just that this is a different situation, and I feel sad about this.”<\/b><\/p>\n

I suspect the parents of his students weren\u2019t aware that he was actually coming into work and doing the job he\u2019s paid to do. This is what a real teacher does.<\/p>\n

Ocol \u2013 who teaches five classes in math and algebra \u2013 said he is “not aware” of any of his 82 students or any teachers he knows currently infected with COVID-19. He advocates for a school-to-school decision on closing based on COVID-19 cases. <\/b><\/p>\n

“Of course, I agree that there has to be safety measures, but it should be done in a sweeping way \u2013 because there are schools that don’t have COVID,” Ocol said. <\/b><\/p>\n

Eventually, history will record that the Wuhan Flu, the engineering of which was paid for by Anthony Fauci, was one of the biggest frauds perpetrated on the world, and was used to suppress the rights and freedoms of Americans and others.<\/p>\n

“I joined the Chicago public schools as a teacher first and foremost and I believe my role should be inside the classroom with my students,” Ocol told host Tucker Carlson. “I did not join CPS to be a union member.”<\/b><\/p>\n

Ocol blasted anyone using the Chicago Teachers Union or students as political weapons. <\/b><\/p>\n

“I believe that there are ways to fight City Hall,” Ocol said<\/a>. “You don\u2019t dangle the plight of the kids in the middle of the fight just to seek your demands.”<\/b><\/p>\n

That is exactly what the Teachers unions have always done.<\/p>\n

“There are other ways. I have nothing against the union,” he continued. “But I have something against people using the union as a tool for political gain.” <\/b><\/p>\n

I need some clarification on Mr. Ocol\u2019s remark. Is he referring to the Union thugs who are using the Union for their political and financial gain, or the city government who are bashing the union for their political gain? You are a teacher of mathematics. You understand that you must be precise in your calculations or you get garbage.<\/p>\n

Ocol warned that remote learning is detrimental to both children and parents. <\/b><\/p>\n

“I have done the remote learning for more than a year with the students,” he explained. “I have seen the limitations and the challenges that a teacher has with remote learning. It’s not really effective.” <\/b><\/p>\n

It\u2019s a joke is what it is. I have little doubt that Mr. Ocol was one of those teachers who did the best he could under the circumstances. Many teachers didn\u2019t. In addition to teaching, Mr. Ocol also started a chess club to give his students a place to be after school was concluded.<\/p>\n

“Police surveys [show] that the most dangerous time for a student to be outside a school building is from 3 to 6 p.m.,” Ocol told Fox News Digital<\/a>. “So that’s when I opted to start the chess program after school to keep kids inside the building. It’s not just about winning games, although later on, the kids were winning medals and trophies, but it’s more about saving lives. That was my goal then.” <\/b><\/p>\n

When asked about having cancer during the COVID-19 pandemic, Ocol replied, “I consider that another challenge in my life. I keep on praying that somehow I’ll still be able to manage my life to be significant to my students. At all, you never know the time value of the moment until it’s become a memory, and I want to become part of the memory of my students.” <\/b><\/p>\n

There is an old saying that goes: \u201cYou can\u2019t pay a good teacher enough, and you can get rid of a bad teacher fast enough, or, thanks to unions, at all.\u201d Mr. Ocol is one of the former. He is going above and beyond. For this, you can expect the Teacher\u2019s Union to come after him, hammer and tongs. I hope that he can be protected, both by the parents and the city government. I also hope he as a full and complete recovery.<\/p>\n
