Add to this the massive profits Big Pharma made, along with their indemnification against liability lawsuits, and someone made out like a bandit. One of those someone\u2019s appears to be…Anthony Fauci. Here are the details from Open The Books<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Last year, the National Institutes of Health \u2013 Anthony Fauci\u2019s employer \u2013 doled out $30 billion in government grants to roughly 56,000 recipients. That largess of taxpayer money buys a lot of favor and clout within the scientific, research, and healthcare industries.<\/b><\/p>\n A fair chunk of that money was for absolutely useless, and in some cases, illegal experiments on animals, such as cute little puppies.<\/p>\n However, in our breaking investigation, we found hundreds of millions of dollars in payments also flow the other way. These are royalty payments from third-party payers (think pharmaceutical companies) back to the NIH and individual NIH scientists.<\/b><\/p>\n We estimate that between fiscal years 2010 and 2020, more than $350 million in royalties were paid by third-parties to the agency and NIH scientists \u2013 who are credited as co-inventors.<\/b><\/p>\n Open The Books sued to get the records, and as expected, the CDC and NIH fought disclosure tooth and nail. They lost of course. Still they are dragging their feet.<\/p>\n The production is the result of our federal lawsuit vs. NIH. The agency admits to holding 3,000 pages of line-by-line royalties since 2009. So far, they\u2019ve produced only 1,200 pages. The next 1,800 pages of production will cover the period 2015-2020. However, what NIH has produced to date gives us insight into the undisclosed royalty largess. For example, only 900 scientists were estimated to be receiving royalties, so now we know the universe is much larger.<\/b><\/p>\n Even with the foot dragging, Open the Books did get some interesting data.<\/p>\n We found agency leadership and top scientists at NIH receiving royalty payments. Well-known scientists receiving payments during the period included: <\/b><\/p>\n In the above examples, although we know the number of payments to each scientist, we still don\u2019t know how much money was paid \u2013 because the dollar figure was deleted (redacted) from the disclosures.<\/b><\/p>\n I wonder if Open The Books has spoken with Senator Rand Paul? I think he would be very interested in the information, and as part of the oversight committee, can force Fauci to hand over the documents. It might have to wait until next year when the Republicans take back control of the Senate after the midterm shellacking the Democrats are expected to take. As I was reading through it, I came across this little gem regarding our favorite bureaucrat.<\/p>\n To this day, Fauci continues to receive NIH-approved perks without a lot of accountability. For example, in February 2021, Fauci received a $1 million prize from the Dan David Foundation<\/a> in Israel for \u201cspeaking truth to power\u201d during the Trump administration. <\/b><\/p>\n One of the things we\u2019re now finding out about Fauci was that he and others at the CDC and NIH deliberately worked to undermine President Trump. For that alone, Fauci and his former boss, Collins should be brought into Congress and raked over the coals, and if warranted, criminally charged.<\/p>\n There needs to be a lot more sunshine on this potentially unholy alliance. <\/b><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n\n
