Good day all. Last week, convicted criminal and utterly corrupt lawyer, (Are there any other kind?) Michael Avenatti was sentenced to 4 years in prison. He was convicted of defrauding another corrupt ninny, Porn star Stormy Daniels.<\/p>\n

Avenatti\u2019s claim to fame was representing Daniels in her case against the greatest President of the 21st<\/sup> Century, Donald Trump. (Which she lost) Avenatti became the darling of the Never Trump networks and other Fake News organizations when he went after President Trump. He quickly became a \u201cBig Name\u201d on the Swamp cocktail circuit and there were some who said he should run against President Trump in 2020. Now he is going to jail. How the mighty have fallen. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Disgraced attorney Michael Avenatti was sentenced to four years in prison Thursday for cheating his former client, adult film star Stormy Daniels, out of $300,000. <\/b><\/p>\n

Avenatti was convicted of aggravated identity fraud and wire fraud in\u00a0New York federal court<\/a>\u00a0earlier this year. He faced a mandatory two years in prison for the former, and\u00a0up to 20 for the latter. <\/b>Of the four years, 18\u00a0months will be served concurrently with the\u00a02 1\/2-year sentence<\/a>\u00a0he was previously given in a separate case for trying to extort Nike out of $25 million. <\/b><\/p>\n

From what I recall, this bozo was stealing from everyone, including his own law partner.<\/p>\n

Avenatti spoke for 12 minutes at the sentencing, acknowledging the “series of mistakes” and “poor judgment” he exercised. <\/b><\/p>\n

“I will forever be branded \u2018disgraced lawyer\u2019 and worse,” he said. <\/b><\/p>\n

I suspect that the \u201cSeries of Mistakes\u201d was not taking precautions to not get caught robbing his clients blind. As for being branded a disgraced lawyer and worse? Big deal. He\u2019s a convicted criminal and will soon be making new friends in the showers of whatever prison they stuff him in.<\/p>\n

Ahead of sentencing, Avenatti had sent a letter apologizing to Daniels, but the judge said this gesture was “too little, too late.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Especially since Daniels needs that $300K to pay the judgment against her<\/a> in her failed attempt to \u201cGet Trump!\u201d Even her porn career isn\u2019t doing that well these days.<\/p>\n

Avenatti did not want to appear in court for sentencing and had requested to be sentenced remotely. Judge Furman denied the request, ordering him to appear. <\/b><\/p>\n

“In the Court\u2019s view, the gravity and significance of the sentencing proceeding would be ill served by a remote proceeding,” Furman wrote. <\/b><\/p>\n

Nice! Nothing like driving the nails all the way in I say. The only thing better would be to have him show up in an orange jumpsuit and in shackles. He could do the \u201cPerp Shuffle\u201d to and from court.<\/p>\n

Avenatti was a ubiquitous presence on television<\/a> during his legal battle against Trump. At one point during the height of his notoriety he fancied the idea of his own presidential bid. <\/b><\/p>\n

No one took that idea seriously. Now all the networks that were tongue bathing him are working overtime to forget he even existed, never mind that he was a constant presence on the major cable networks. (I don\u2019t think Fox was dumb enough to bring him on, but I may be wrong on this one)<\/p>\n

Avenatti has an upcoming retrial in California federal court in a separate case in which he is accused of stealing nearly $10 million from five clients. A judge declared a mistrial in the first trial last August after prosecutors failed to turn over relevant financial evidence. <\/b><\/p>\n

I have little doubt this crook stole the money, but the stupidity of the prosecutors to not follow the law and procedures should get a few of them disbarred. Of course, it\u2019s possible that Avenatti could end up with one of the Soros prosecutors, in which case they will boot the case and let him walk with a $100 fine.<\/p>\n
