Good day all. Smithfield Foods, a meat packing conglomerate, has announced that it is closing it\u2019s plant in Kalifornistan due to the ever escalating costs of doing business there.<\/p>\n

This is going to hurt a lot of people, and not just in Kalifornistan. One of the major reasons they\u2019re pulling out is energy costs. Thanks to Kalifornistan\u2019s regulatory environment, energy is something only the rich will soon be able to afford. Here are the details of the closure from ABC News<\/b>:<\/p>\n

The Farmer John meat-packing plant in Vernon, an industrial suburb south of Los Angeles, will shut down in February, with its 1,800 employees receiving severance and job placement support along with bonuses for those who choose to stay on the job until the closure, said Jim Monroe, vice president of corporate affairs. <\/b><\/p>\n

Monroe said operating costs in California are much higher than in other areas of the country, including taxes and the price of water, electricity and natural gas. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cOur utility costs in California are 3 1\/2 times higher per head than our other locations where they do the same type of work,\u201d he said. <\/b><\/p>\n

Well, this sucks, but it can\u2019t be unexpected. The Progressive idiots running Kalifornistan have been driving all sorts of small businesses out of business and the large corporations out of state with their socialist drivel. Now we have another 1800 people who are going to be on the welfare roles in short order. Of course, they might just say the Hell with it and move out to another state, one where the people running things aren\u2019t intent in turning their state into a Turd World Hellhole.<\/p>\n

The Vernon plant has been the target of repeated protests by animal rights activists over its treatment of hogs.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What treatment? The feed them, kill them and we eat them. Of course, for the granola sucking ninnies who can\u2019t understand that the Human Race are omnivores, I can see how anything other then pampering the pigs and letting them die of old age would be mistreatment.<\/p>\n

It also was hard-hit during the COVID-19 pandemic, with some 300 employees exposed to infections in 2020. Several were hospitalized. <\/b><\/p>\n

Kalifornistan killed it\u2019s economy and turned the state into a giant prison camp. They still haven\u2019t recovered from the damage Gruesome Newsom and his minions did, and it looks like they never will. The entire Panicdemic was just a tool to be used by the Ruling Elite to test their plans to institute Martial Law and end the constitution.<\/p>\n

California\u2019s Division of Occupational Safety and Health fined Smithfield Foods about $60,000 for safety violations that exposed workers to infection. <\/b><\/p>\n

And there is another reason for the company to tell Kalifornistan \u201cUp Yours!\u201d and pull out. As to where they are going?<\/p>\n

The Vernon plant slaughters pigs and packages products such as ham and bacon. Some operations will be moved to other facilities in the Midwest, but the overall reduction in processing capacity is prompting Smithfield to reduce its sow herd in Utah. The company also said it is exploring ways to exit its farms in California and Arizona. <\/b><\/p>\n

That doesn\u2019t sound good to me. While I do see them closing out of Kalifornistan, I don\u2019t know why they would be closing down operations in the other states. They aren\u2019t hostile to businesses. I wonder how this will affect the supply of bacon?<\/p>\n

The shutdown is not expected to reduce supply or increase costs on products, and Farmer John Products will still be sold in California, Monroe said. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cThere won\u2019t be any impact on our customers,\u201d he said. <\/b><\/p>\n

Well I hope not! In any case, this is yet another nail in the coffin of what was once called the \u201cGolden State.\u201d Kalifornistan has lost a seat in the House of Representatives, and these days, even the Marxists who run Big Tech are finally coming to terms with the realities of trying to do business in the lunatic asylum that is Kalifornistan.<\/p>\n
