Good day all. With all the news regarding the American Gestapo\u2019s raid on President Trump\u2019s home, a few stories have slipped below the radar. One of them is an update on the murder investigation of Alec \u201cBullseye\u201d Baldwin.<\/p>\n

First, a bit of a refresher. Last year, Bullseye Baldwin was staring in a western that was in production. He was handed a Colt .45 Long Colt Single Action Army pistol and didn\u2019t bother to verify that the cylinders were empty and that the gun was unloaded. He then pointed it at a cinematographer. He was, apparently, practicing a cross draw when the gun, which should have been unloaded, went off. Somehow, a live cartridge had been left in the gun.<\/p>\n

The cinematographer, Halyna Hutchins, was killed and the director wounded. Obviously, this was a tragic accident, and it\u2019s also an accident that should not have happened in the first place. The police investigation has already found a number of issues with safety on the set. However, the one issue that has not yet been resolved was Bullseye Baldwin\u2019s personal culpability. He has maintained that he did not pull the trigger and that the gun \u201cJust went off all by itself. A report from the FBI forensic\u2019s lab has been returned blowing a hole in that excuse. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

A new discovery has been made in the fatal “Rust” shooting involving Alec Baldwin. <\/b>According to ABC News, which obtained a copy of the FBI’s forensic report<\/a>, the gun used on the New Mexico movie set could not have been fired without the trigger being pulled. <\/b><\/p>\n

This is not any sort of a surprise report to people who are familiar with the Colt SAA pistol. It is a single action firearm. This means that the hammer MUST BE COCKED, (pulled back), before it can be fired and it requires the trigger be pulled. Bullseye\u2019s excuse has always been seen by people who know firearms to be just that, a desperate excuse.<\/p>\n

The FBI conducted an accidental discharge test and determined the gun used in the fatal shooting of cinematographer Halyna Hutchins “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger,” the report stated, according to the outlet. <\/b><\/p>\n

The test showed that when the 45 Colt caliber F.lli Pietta single-action revolver’s hammer was in the quarter and half-cock positions, the gun would not fire without the trigger being pulled.<\/b><\/p>\n

When the hammer was in the fully cocked position, the gun “could not be made to fire without a pull of the trigger while the working internal components were intact and functional,” according to the outlet.<\/strong><\/p>\n

I suspect that the tests included smacking the hammer when it was lowered, as well as in the various cocked settings. (Quarter cocked, half cocked, etc)<\/p>\n

I don\u2019t know this particular model, but I am aware that the original Colt Army SAA pistols could go off if the hammer was impacted while lowered on a loaded chamber. Reproductions generally have a component added that keeps the hammer from intruding into the cylinder unless the trigger is actually pulled. Also, if there is going to be any delay between loading and firing the pistol, people will usually only load 5 rounds, not six and put the lowered hammer on the empty cylinder.<\/p>\n

In December, Baldwin, who was in possession of the firearm on set, told ABC News that he did not fire the weapon. “The trigger wasn’t pulled,” Baldwin said<\/a>. “I didn’t pull the trigger.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Which no one believed. Aside from the fact that Bullseye never performed a safety check of the pistol, even if it was malfunctioning, he would have had to cock the hammer and then pull the trigger. This isn\u2019t like a self loading firearm, such as a Glock. While there have been instances of modern semi-automatic pistols going off unintentionally, it was quickly found to be either a malfunction or a design flaw. The forensics report has proven that the pistol was in good working order.<\/p>\n

Now it\u2019s in the hands of the investigators and law enforcement. Unlike the Federal Department of (In)Justice, the state and local police are doing a careful, detailed investigation. They are gathering all the facts, and once they have every scrap of evidence, will make a decision on whether or not to arrest and charge Alec \u201cBullseye\u201d Baldwin with homicide. (I\u2019m not sure which level, but not 1st<\/sup> degree since this was not intentional nor was another crime being committed) Frankly, it\u2019s not looking good for Bullseye. He might be retiring to a nice state run facility in the next year or so.<\/p>\n
