Pete Buttplug is a classic example of failing upward. He is put into, or elected to, positions of trust and authority and either can\u2019t be bothered to show up or screws up by the numbers when he does. There have been calls for his removal for a while now from the Republicans, but now it\u2019s also coming from the Democrats. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg is facing demands and pressure from influential leaders across the political spectrum as tens of thousands of Americans remain stranded at airports across the nation. <\/b><\/p>\n There was a major storm covering most of the northern United States and Canada. Pretty much all the airlines had cancellations, but Southwest pretty much shut down.<\/p>\n Southwest Airlines canceled more than 2,500 flights Wednesday, 62% of its scheduled flights, and plans to cancel an estimated two-thirds of flights in the following days. Democrat and GOP elected officials and political activists demanded the Department of Transportation<\/a> hold the company accountable so that customers receive full refunds and accommodations.<\/strong><\/p>\n Southwest is starting to make restitution regarding the tickets. I don\u2019t know about compensation for those who had to go to a hotel, but that is something they should look into. What we don\u2019t need is some blithering idiot in the Senate showing that he is a blithering idiot.<\/p>\n “Southwest’s flight delays & cancellations are beyond unacceptable,” Sen. Bernie Sanders, I-Vt., tweeted Wednesday. “This is a company that got a $7 billion taxpayer bailout & will be handing out $428 million in dividends to their wealthy shareholders.” <\/b><\/p>\n It goes without saying that Bernie Sanders is stupid. Those dividends go into, among other things, 401K and IRA accounts. But this is Comrade Bernie, and when it comes to economics, he thinks the Soviet model is the way to go. As for the incompetent Buttplug, he managed to beclown himself with his prediction that things were going to get better.<\/p>\n Buttigieg in September said on “The Late Late Show With James Corden” that airline travel “is going to get better by the holidays.”<\/b><\/p>\n Perhaps if Secretary Buttplug had actually stayed in Washington and done his job instead of skulking off to a European Vacation<\/b><\/a>, he might actually have been aware that there were issues coming up.<\/p>\n Nina Turner, the national co-chair of Sanders’ 2020 presidential campaign, blamed the problem on Buttigieg’s outsized ambitions for higher office. <\/b><\/p>\n “What\u2019s happening with the railroads, airlines & the supply chain is a result of a small city mayor being made the Secretary of Transportation as a means to pad his resume for President,” she tweeted Tuesday. “Secretary Buttigieg is a prime example of failing up.” <\/b><\/p>\n Buttplug\u2019s ambitions are running towards replacing President* Bumbles Dementia Biden in 2024. There were some rumors last year that Biden\u2019s handlers were going to force out Kamala \u201cHeels Up\u201d Harris as Vice President and replace her with Buttplug.<\/p>\n I don\u2019t think that\u2019s going to happen now. Harris is totally inept and when cornered, cackles like a chicken. She does does show up for work though, something Buttplug is loathe to do.<\/p>\n Sen. Maria Cantwell, D-Wash., chair of the Senate Commerce Committee, released a statement Tuesday that declared federal rules must be updated to prevent similar disasters<\/a> in the future.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n “The Committee will be looking into the causes of these disruptions and its impact to consumers,” Cantwell said. “Many airlines fail to adequately communicate with consumers during flight cancellations. Consumers deserve strong protections, including an updated consumer refund rule.” <\/b><\/p>\n Oh good! We\u2019re going to see yet another example of politicians making things worse just to show that they \u201cCare\u201d and are \u201cDoing something.\u201d The last time we saw this, we ended up with the Patriot Act<\/a>.<\/p>\n For more than a year, Republican leaders have complained Buttigieg does not take his job seriously amid a series of crises for Americans. Buttigieg was on vacation in Europe as railroad unions attempted to negotiate a deal in September to avoid a potentially disastrous strike. The secretary was on paternity leave with his husband and their two newborns for several months last year as the country faced supply chain shortages.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n But weren\u2019t we informed by the Department of Transportation that Buttplug was in constant contact with \u201cTop Men. Top…Men.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/p>\n<\/p>\n
