When this potential ban came out, people and members of Congress demanded that the agency pushing it, the Consumer Product Safety Commission, explain their justification. In a not at all surprising move, the commission refused. Here are the details from Fox New<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC), the federal agency<\/a> that is weighing a potential ban on new natural gas-powered stoves, refused to point to any specific studies to justify its interest in regulating the appliance when asked Wednesday by Fox News Digital.<\/strong><\/p>\n CPSC spokesperson Patty Davis told Fox News Digital in a brief phone interview that the agency wouldn’t cite a specific study since it had yet to begin its regulatory process<\/a>. When pressed on which research led the commission to weigh the ban in the first place, the spokesperson said there was broad research on the topic and referred Fox News Digital to media reports on the topic. <\/b><\/p>\n “There is a significant body of work on this topic from a variety of sources,” Davis said in an email following the call, still declining to point to a specific study. <\/b><\/p>\n From what I\u2019ve been able to find, there is no such research and they made this up out of whole cloth. Why? It\u2019s meant as a back door attempt tp impose part of the \u201cGreen New Deal\u201d on an unwilling America.<\/p>\n The agency’s refusal to cite specific studies showing the potential harms of gas stoves came after CPSC Chairman Alexander Hoehn-Saric said earlier in the day that “research” shows there stoves can cause harm. <\/b><\/p>\n “Research indicates that emissions from gas stoves can be hazardous, and the CPSC is looking for ways to reduce related indoor air quality hazards,” Hoehn-Saric said in the statement shared with Fox News Digital. <\/b><\/p>\n The only way there can be any issues with using natural gas is if the utilities in question haven\u2019t been properly vented. If this is the case, then you have building ordinances that haven\u2019t been followed, and that is a local matter, not something the tyrants in the federal bureaucracies to deal with.<\/p>\n The CPSC chairman added that he wasn’t “looking to ban gas stoves,” but that the commission would ask the public for information about gas stove emissions and potential solutions in the coming months. <\/b><\/p>\n “CPSC is researching gas emissions in stoves and exploring new ways to address any health risks,” he added. “CPSC also is actively engaged in strengthening voluntary safety standards for gas stoves.”\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n In other words, they fully intend to ban these stoves and order them removed from peoples homes and businesses regardless of costs to the home and business owners.<\/p>\n Hoehn-Saric’s comments come days after a Bloomberg report highlighting that the CPSC was moving forward with a review of gas stoves’ impacts on public health<\/a>. CPSC Commissioner Richard Trumka Jr. told the outlet that “any option is on the table” and that unsafe products can be banned, noting that gas stoves were a “hidden hazard.” <\/b><\/p>\n Trumka Jr. also said the idea that cooking had to be done on gas stoves was a “carefully manicured myth.” <\/b><\/p>\n In case you weren\u2019t aware of it, this bozo is the son of the former head of the AFL-CIO union, and like all union heads, was as crooked as the day is long. The CPSC hasn’t publicly cited the study or any other related research. <\/b><\/p>\n I suspect that if they don\u2019t cite a study, then it can\u2019t be debunked as a load of horse manure.<\/p>\n The study, though, has also faced scrutiny since it was funded in part by RMI, a non-profit research group that advocates for aggressive green policies<\/a> and works to “transform global energy systems across the real economy.” The two lead authors, Talor Gruenwald and Brady Seals, are RMI researchers who have contributed to the group’s “carbon-free buildings” initiative. <\/b><\/p>\n Since this story broke, the White House was pummeled over it and walked it back almost immediately.<\/p>\n Later on Wednesday, a senior administration official told FOX Business that the White House didn’t support<\/a> banning gas stoves.<\/b><\/p>\n Now the regulators have come to the conclusion that banning gas stoves would not be a good idea and have walked it back.
