It\u2019s been a while since I did a \u201cBook Report.\u201d I just finished reading Larry Corriea\u2019s In <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Defense-Second-Amendment-Larry-Correia-ebook\/dp\/B0B69H65SC?_encoding=UTF8&amp;qid=1676136659&amp;sr=8-1&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=angersentral&amp;linkId=73eeb3a5fb4699512666048abeeff470&amp;language=en_US&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Defense of the Second Amendment<\/b><\/a>. There have been a number of books about the Right to Keep and Bear Arms as covered by the Second Amendment of the Constitution of the United States. You might be asking, \u201cWhat makes this one different?\u201d<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: center;\">\u00a0<iframe style=\"width: 120px; height: 240px;\" src=\"\/\/ws-na.amazon-adsystem.com\/widgets\/q?ServiceVersion=20070822&amp;OneJS=1&amp;Operation=GetAdHtml&amp;MarketPlace=US&amp;source=ss&amp;ref=as_ss_li_til&amp;ad_type=product_link&amp;tracking_id=angersentral&amp;language=en_US&amp;marketplace=amazon&amp;region=US&amp;placement=1684514142&amp;asins=1684514142&amp;linkId=7efbc6eef8a56e01fd9b2e860ba3e17e&amp;show_border=true&amp;link_opens_in_new_window=true\" frameborder=\"0\" marginwidth=\"0\" marginheight=\"0\" scrolling=\"no\" sandbox=\"allow-popups allow-scripts allow-modals allow-forms allow-same-origin\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><!--more--><\/p>\n<p>To begin with, this isn\u2019t a book that is full of technical jargon and loaded down with statistics. Yes, there is some of each, but this is needed. Instead, we have Mr. Corriea basically providing information that anyone can use when speaking with the ill-informed with many footnotes to the sources he used.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Donald-Trump.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-20619\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Donald-Trump-300x214.jpg?resize=300%2C214\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"214\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Donald-Trump.jpg?resize=300%2C214&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Donald-Trump.jpg?resize=768%2C548&amp;ssl=1 768w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Donald-Trump.jpg?resize=1024%2C731&amp;ssl=1 1024w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Donald-Trump.jpg?resize=500%2C357&amp;ssl=1 500w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/Donald-Trump.jpg?w=1180&amp;ssl=1 1180w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For those of you who may not know, <a href=\"http:\/\/monsterhunternation.com\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Larry Corriea<\/a> is a very successful author and most noted for his <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Monster-Hunter-International-Second-Hunters-ebook\/dp\/B00XLQ9PF6?crid=2234J4NOGKD1C&amp;keywords=larry+correia+monster+hunters+international+series&amp;qid=1676137005&amp;s=digital-text&amp;sprefix=larry+corriea+monster+hunters+international+series%2Cdigital-text%2C63&amp;sr=1-4&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=angersentral&amp;linkId=9fff745c528f2841d114158faf691ed7&amp;language=en_US&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Monster Hunters International<\/a> series. I will be honest and state that I have only read one of his novels. Sadly, they aren\u2019t my cup of tea. What is my cup of tea is his disassembling of moonbats, Karens and the Woke of all types. I have been following Mr. Corriea\u2019s literary smackdowns of these types and other assorted internet trolls for years.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.pinimg.com\/originals\/7b\/b7\/8c\/7bb78c71073075615b4ffac6ce75748e.jpg?resize=385%2C546&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"385\" height=\"546\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The book opens with the subject of the book, the Second Amendment. It reads:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><i><b>A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed.<\/b><\/i><\/p>\n<p>Never have so few words engendered so much discussion. People such as Mr. Corriea and myself see this and understand what it means. The Progressives and other tyrant wannabe\u2019s see this and hate it. They have, over the decades, ignored it or twisted the meaning. To begin with, the words \u201cWell regulated.\u201d It has evolved over the centuries. When the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Amendment was written, it meant \u201cWell Trained.\u201d Today it means government controlled. The key phrase is, of course, the Right of the People to Keep and Bear Arms Shall NOT be infringed.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/b1-gottlieb-ah_s640x986.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-10584\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/b1-gottlieb-ah_s640x986-194x300.jpg?resize=194%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"194\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/b1-gottlieb-ah_s640x986.jpg?resize=194%2C300&amp;ssl=1 194w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/b1-gottlieb-ah_s640x986.jpg?resize=97%2C150&amp;ssl=1 97w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/b1-gottlieb-ah_s640x986.jpg?resize=400%2C616&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/01\/b1-gottlieb-ah_s640x986.jpg?w=640&amp;ssl=1 640w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 194px) 100vw, 194px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Corriea doesn\u2019t go into this in detail, the definitions of words used in the 18th century, it\u2019s not the purpose of his book. He talked about how criminals love gun control because it lessens their chances of getting their crooked heads blown off. Mr. Corriea talks about in great detail, criminals also don\u2019t have any problem getting guns even if they do so unlawfully. Why? They are criminals and don\u2019t care. Only the law abiding care and they are the ones being victimized by the criminals.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Gunny-Lock-Load.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-11267\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Gunny-Lock-Load-300x285.jpg?resize=300%2C285\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"285\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Gunny-Lock-Load.jpg?resize=300%2C285&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Gunny-Lock-Load.jpg?resize=150%2C142&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Gunny-Lock-Load.jpg?resize=400%2C380&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2013\/03\/Gunny-Lock-Load.jpg?w=446&amp;ssl=1 446w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Corriea also talks about \u201cVultures.\u201d These are the people who hate guns, and whenever something happens, such as a mass shooting, they are out there before the smoke has cleared demanding that we \u201cDo Something.\u201d In fact, there is an entire section dedicated to talking about, and disassembling the people he refers to as the \u201cDo Somethings\u201d (aka Vultures). He discusses what they mean by \u201cDoing something.\u201d Basically the vultures idea of doing something is stripping people of the means to defend themselves.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/totally-shocked.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-22809\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/totally-shocked-300x200.jpg?resize=300%2C200\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/totally-shocked.jpg?resize=300%2C200&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/11\/totally-shocked.jpg?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Corriea, besides providing facts that you can use, is also funny. This is how his book, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Defense-Second-Amendment-Larry-Correia-ebook\/dp\/B0B69H65SC?_encoding=UTF8&amp;qid=1676136659&amp;sr=8-1&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=angersentral&amp;linkId=73eeb3a5fb4699512666048abeeff470&amp;language=en_US&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">In Defense of the Second Amendment,<\/a> avoids the issue of so many books on this subject. They tend to be dry, factual, filled with statistics and, worst of all, BORING! When you read remarks such as this:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\">\u201c<b>our Congress\u2014which has an approval rating somewhere south of prostate cancer\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n<p>You can\u2019t help but giggle like a little school girl because you know he\u2019s right. With few exceptions, most of the United States Senate and the United States House of Representatives would be best served conducting business on an ice flow&#8230;near the Equator&#8230;In summer&#8230;with a large school of hungry sharks nearby.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.pinimg.com\/originals\/b7\/0a\/ba\/b70aba97d50b153e2b6371a7a6b57749.jpg?resize=392%2C261&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"392\" height=\"261\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Another section deals with what happens when you have to shoot a criminal. Right off the bat, Mr. Correia tells you he is not a lawyer, does not play one on TV, but I believe he has slept in a Holiday Inn. However, he does go over what you can expect and what the general definition of a self defense shooting is. Here is a hint. Alec Baldwin did not shoot Halyna Hutchins in self defense. (when I get a safety brief at my range, at the conclusion I say, &#8220;So basically, don&#8217;t be a Baldwin) What he does do, and this varies from state to state, is lay down the basics.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>To be legally justified in using lethal force against fellow human beings, you need to meet the following criteria. They have the \u201cability\u201d to cause you serious bodily harm. They have the \u201copportunity\u201d to cause you serious bodily harm. They are acting in a manner that suggests they are an \u201cimmediate threat\u201d of serious bodily harm. If your encounter fits these three criteria, then you are usually legally justified in using lethal force.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>Mr. Correia continues that you will still be spending some serious quality time with the police, and if you run afoul of a politically motivated prosecutor, you will probably end up in court. He discuses this with regards to the Kyle Rittenhouse matter. There is no way that Kyle Rittenhouse should have been charged. That shooting has to be one of the best documented cases on record, which is why the jury acquitted him.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter \" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.pinimg.com\/564x\/6e\/72\/b9\/6e72b9f2b1c070b51f26eef32d4b40d0.jpg?resize=336%2C355&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"336\" height=\"355\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Not all self defense shootings end up with the person who defended himself, or herself as the case may be, dealing with a District Attorney trying to make a name for himself and do as much damage as possible to the right to defend yourself. Many will do a review and quickly conclude that the shooter did what he or she had to do.<\/p>\n<p>There are a ton of anecdotes regarding actual cases including the young man who took on a nutjob with a rifle at 40 yards in a mall with a handgun. He stopped the criminal\u2019s attack before he could massacre dozens of innocent people. Mr. Corriea also explains why these type of shootings happen where they do. They are gun free zones, aka target rich environments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/gun-Free2.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-15632\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/gun-Free2-227x300.jpg?resize=227%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"227\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/gun-Free2.jpg?resize=227%2C300&amp;ssl=1 227w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/08\/gun-Free2.jpg?w=300&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 227px) 100vw, 227px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>With regards to the mall incident, the management of that place had declared it a \u201cGun free zone. Criminals and psychos welcome. The young man who was lawfully carrying his pistol either didn\u2019t know, or did know that the gun free zone signs had no legal validity. This didn\u2019t stop the \u201cUsual suspects\u201d from demanding that the hero be arrested drawn, quartered and set on fire for daring to ignore the ever so protective no guns allowed signs. Mr. Corriea indicates that the gun free zones are where criminals and kooks go because they know that they won\u2019t get shot.<\/p>\n<p>There are many many other great items and details in this will sourced book. I think it was a bit to short and that Mr. Correia should have also looked at some of the state constitutions. Many of them have their own version of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Amendment and they leave no wiggle room for the progressive wigglers. Take my state of New Hampshire and our Article 2a.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>[Art.] 2-a. [The Bearing of Arms.] All persons have the right to keep and bear arms in defense of themselves, their families, their property and the state.<\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>December 1, 1982<\/b><\/p>\n<p>New Hampshire also has a Stand your Ground law as well as self defense and castle doctrines and constitutional carry, either concealed or openly displayed. We have a very low crime rate in general, certainly nothing like you see in places like New York and California. I once asked a police officer about this a good 30 years ago. His answer is still valid today. The reason New Hampshire and other Constitutional Carry states have generally low crime rates is simple. Criminals know they will get shot and they really don\u2019t want to.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/smoking-gun.jpg\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-20027\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/smoking-gun-275x300.jpg?resize=275%2C300\" alt=\"\" width=\"275\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/smoking-gun.jpg?resize=275%2C300&amp;ssl=1 275w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/01\/smoking-gun.jpg?w=459&amp;ssl=1 459w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 275px) 100vw, 275px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>In conclusion, all I can say is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.amazon.com\/Audible-Defense-Second-Amendment\/dp\/B0BL1WW4ZT?crid=2I6B2JBCFEDWE&amp;keywords=in+defense+of+the+second+amendment&amp;qid=1676157297&amp;sprefix=%2Caps%2C289&amp;sr=8-1&amp;linkCode=ll1&amp;tag=angersentral&amp;linkId=6f933b0ea0bb897e7079d6122926b1d2&amp;language=en_US&amp;ref_=as_li_ss_tl\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">buy this book<\/a>. Buy copies for your friends. Buy copies for your local library, Buy copies and give them to progressives, liberals and other assorted sheep and challenge them to read it instead of burning it. (Progressives, Communists, Nazis and Liberals seem to like burning books they don\u2019t want people to read) I heartily recommend it. Besides, Larry Corriea needs the paycheck.
