Good day all. With all the talk about President Trump being arrested and bogus charges, other things have slipped under the radar, such as Dementia Joe Biden once again showing what a complete moron he is.<\/p>\n

In this case, he is planning on shutting down mining on an area that is rich in resources we need to keep our country strong. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The Biden administration moved closer to implementing a 20-year ban on mining in a South Dakota forest area<\/a> due to its proximity to cultural and natural resources. <\/b><\/p>\n

In a joint announcement Friday, the Bureau of Land Management (BLM) and Forest Service said they would consider a 20-year withdrawal of 20,574 acres located in the Black Hills National Forest near the Pactola Reservoir and Rapid Creek Watershed. The proposed action prohibits new mining claims<\/a> and the issuance of new federal mineral leases for two years while the agencies review the proposal. <\/b><\/p>\n

Two years huh? So the remainder of the Dementia Joe\u2019s maladministration? Any bets on what the \u201cFinal\u201d rule will be issued and which way it goes? Needless to say, people aren\u2019t happy about this latest bit of tyranny from the worst President* in History.<\/p>\n

“Whether it\u2019s northern Minnesota, southern Arizona, Alaska, or now South Dakota, these sorts of land restrictions from the anti-mining Biden Administration hamstring domestic development of minerals we need for national defense, energy technology, and everyday life,” Rep. Pete Stauber, R-Minn., the chairman of the House Natural Resources Energy and Mineral Subcommittee, told Fox News Digital. <\/b><\/p>\n

“We need to be using our resources we have here with our workforce, not taking them offline,” he continued. <\/b><\/p>\n

As to the reasons for this latest land grab by the Coastal Progressive Elites, it\u2019s about as science as those proclaiming the world is flat and that the Earth is the center of the universe.<\/p>\n

According to the announcement, the action could protect the drinking water supply<\/a> for nearby Rapid City, South Dakota, and the Ellsworth Air Force Base, from the adverse impacts of mineral exploration and development. <\/b><\/p>\n

That may have been true 50 years ago, but mining has come a long way. If they find something valuable, they can design the mine to minimize the impact. Even strip mining can be reversed if they plan and prepare things before they start digging.<\/p>\n

“The BLM is pleased to work with the USDA Forest Service on this effort,” BLM Director Tracy Stone-Manning said in a statement. “This proposal will help protect a primary source of drinking water for South Dakotans as the Forest Service assesses a 20-year withdrawal.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Translation: Yeah we\u2019ve already decided we\u2019re going to pull this land out. We just have to go through all the usual rigmarole to make it appear that we did a reasoned and thorough review.<\/p>\n

The potential 20-year withdrawal comes amid a multi-year approval process for a gold exploration project in the area proposed by Minneapolis-based mining company F3 Gold. It also comes months after the Forest Service issued a draft decision allowing the company to explore across 3 acres and build some infrastructure under several restrictions after an extensive environmental review. <\/b><\/p>\n

F3 Gold pledged that it wouldn’t extract water from the Rapid Creek Watershed and wouldn’t use any hazardous chemicals, adding that it would never “commence with any project” that poses risks to regional water sources. It also made a series of land use and ecological stewardship commitments.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

In other words, they were developing a plan to restore the land once they were done and to do as little damage as possible. Of course, the Progressive totalitarian slime running these bureaucracies are ignoring this.<\/p>\n

The company has stated that the so-called Jenny Gulch Exploration Drilling Project would produce precious metals necessary for green energy technology<\/a> like solar panels and electric vehicle batteries, aerospace equipment and telecom equipment. <\/b><\/p>\n

“Gold is everywhere,” the company states on its website. “Due to its versatile properties it is a vital component in technologies from nearly every economic sector in the U.S., making it strategic and critical to our future.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Now I see why it\u2019s being shut down. It would help break the virtual monopoly that China has on strategic minerals. Obviously, they couldn\u2019t allow that to happen so they just picked up the phone and called Bumbles Biden and told him to shut it down.<\/p>\n

Overall, the U.S. produced about 170 metric tons of gold in 2022 despite its vast reserves of the precious metal, federal data showed. By comparison, China mined 330 metric tons of gold, exceeding production levels of every other country for the second consecutive year. <\/b><\/p>\n

And China flat out doesn\u2019t care about the environment or even mine safety. It\u2019s not uncommon to see stories of mine disasters coming out of China with hundreds of people killed. This is part and parcel of how totalitarian governments operate. The ecological disaster that is the old Soviet Union will be centuries if not millennia to correct.<\/p>\n

The International Energy Agency has repeatedly warned that aggressive green energy goals will only be met if nations shore up critical mineral supply chains. Green energy technologies like electric vehicle batteries, solar panels and wind turbines are dependent on lithium, cobalt, copper, nickel, graphite, zinc and precious metals like gold and silver. <\/b><\/p>\n

Green energy is a load of horse manure. However, the IEA is correct that we will need to waste huge resources on this claptrap that could be put to better use elsewhere. There is also the other matter of the damage being done to the States that would benefit economically from mining and energy production.<\/p>\n

The War on America by the Biden Maladministration and the Democrat Party may be coming to a head. I expect to see a State eventually tell Washington that they are talking control of the resources inside their borders and Washington can go take a flying f**k at a rolling donut. When that happens, expect the other states to join in. Don\u2019t you just love living in interesting times?<\/p>\n
