Good day all. One of the major issues we have today, especially in the younger generations, is a complete lack of understanding of the Constitution of the United States. Most schools don\u2019t teach and students don\u2019t read the document.<\/p>\n

We also have many colleges and universities actively hostile to the constitution, seeing it as an archaic document that has no relevance in modern society. Of course the people saying this are people who the constitution was designed to stop from imposing their views on people who didn\u2019t agree with them.<\/p>\n

This is now causing actual harm on campuses where people who have things to say that isn\u2019t popular with a certain, (Hardcore left wing totalitarian progressive liberal troglodytes), segment of the student body and teaching staff.<\/p>\n

Now the House of Representatives of North Carolina has passed a bill that requires universities in the state to actually teach the Constitution. Here are the details from Campus Reform<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

On Wednesday, Mar. 22, the North Carolina House of Representatives passed\u00a0House Bill 96<\/a>,\u00a0which would require all students at public universities in the state to take at least three credit hours in American Government or American History to graduate.\u00a0<\/b><\/p>\n

Per the bill, titled the “North Carolina Reclaiming College Education on America’s Constitutional Heritage Act” (NC REACH Act), all courses fulfilling this requirement must include full readings of the Constitution, the Declaration of Independence, the Emancipation Proclamation, at least five essays from the Federalist Papers, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.\u2019s Letter from Birmingham Jail, the Gettysburg Address, and the North Carolina State Constitution. <\/b><\/p>\n

Further, instructors would provide a cumulative exam, worth at least 20% of the student\u2019s final grade, testing understanding of \u201cthe provisions and principles of the documents,\u201d \u201cthe perspectives of the authors,\u201d and \u201cthe relevant historical contexts.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

Wow! This is amazing and frankly, couldn\u2019t come at a better time. I have read the Constitution and am constantly looking at it. I\u2019ve read some of the Federalist Papers<\/a>, (Not all of them sadly), and T<\/b>he Gettysburg Address<\/b><\/a> of course. I have not read Dr. King\u2019s Letter from Birmingham Jail<\/b><\/a>, but will add that to my list of things to do. Of course, not everyone is in agreement with students learning about the Constitution.<\/p>\n

The NC REACH Act passed the House 69-47, with only\u00a0two Democrats<\/a>\u00a0voting in favor of the bill.<\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not surprised that the Democrats are opposed to teaching the Constitution. The Democrat Party hates that document with a passion and has been working to undermine it for decades. What saddens me is that the state legislature of North Carolina feels that they have to impose this in the first place. (I\u2019m assuming that the schools in the state receive taxpayer funds, which is why this can be imposed if it becomes law)<\/p>\n

For the last 8-12 years we have seen the colleges and universities all around the United States move from educating the future leaders of the United States to becoming nothing more than political indoctrination centers. We are seeing students who are, as the late Rush Limbaugh used to say, \u201cYoung Skulls full of mush,\u201d being used by radical, hard left, and in many cases, outright Communists to attack anyone who dissents from the Progressive Narrative.<\/p>\n

I have no idea if this bill will become law in North Carolina. It will be interesting to see what happens when all these professors and other instructors have to actually learn about the documents they both no nothing about and in many cases, actively despise. I hope it does, and if I have any readers in north Carolina, please contact your representatives to push this along.<\/p>\n
