Schumer, who makes Nazis, Communists and Fascists look like true believers in the rights of the people, went off his nut and accused the Court of being the \u201cMAGA Supreme Court.\u201d Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer<\/a>, D-N.Y., slammed the Supreme Court’s ruling Thursday that limited the Environmental Protection Agency’s ability to regulate bodies of water, calling it a “MAGA” court even though the decision was 9-0. <\/b><\/p>\n The decision by the court concerned how the EPA treats water on people\u2019s private property. The EPA has long had a tendency to stomp all over people\u2019s property rights, denying them the use of their land and not compensating them for it. This is part of what the court was responding to.<\/p>\n On Thursday, the high court issued an opinion that narrowed the EPA’s broad definition<\/a> of Waters of the United States (WOTUS). The court said the federal government must define WOTUS as a water source with a “continuous surface connection” to major bodies of water.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n Basically they told the EPA that they can\u2019t take people\u2019s property claiming that a puddle that only appears when it rains is a major body of water. That would be something like Lake Michigan or the Atlantic Ocean. Since this decision stripped power away from the regulatory and deep state, this is what set off Upchuck Schmuckface.<\/p>\n “This MAGA Supreme Court is continuing to erode our country’s environmental laws,” Schumer tweeted after the opinion was released. “Make no mistake \u2013 this ruling will mean more polluted water, and more destruction of wetlands.” <\/b><\/p>\n I take it someone forgot to mention to UpChuck that a unanimous decision also included the three barking progressive moonbats.<\/p>\n The ruling came down 9-0 in favor of plaintiffs Michael and Chantell Sackett, two Idaho residents whom the EPA prohibited from building a home near a wetland years ago.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n “The EPA ordered the Sacketts to restore the site, threatening penalties of over $40,000 per day,” Alito’s majority opinion stated. “The EPA classified the wetlands on the Sacketts\u2019 lot as ‘waters of the United States’ because they were near a ditch that fed into a creek, which fed into Priest Lake, a navigable, intrastate lake. The Sacketts sued, alleging that their property was not ‘waters of the United States.'” <\/b><\/p>\n As I recall, the Sacketts had built a house and other things and the EPA told them to tear it all down or else. Now I freely admit, I\u2019m doing this from memory and haven\u2019t bothered to look up the details. As far as I\u2019m concerned, this was an illegal taking of their property without compensation as well as an abuse of power by the EPA. As you would expect. The Republicans were quite happy with the decision.<\/p>\n Republicans and industry groups embraced the decision as a blow against what they view as federal overreach and excessive regulation.<\/strong><\/p>\n “Big win today at the US Supreme Court,” said West Virginia Attorney General Patrick Morrisey, whose office led 26 states in filing an amicus brief supporting the Sacketts.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n<\/a><\/p>\n
