Good day all. It\u2019s no secret that the primary mantra of the Main Stream Media is \u201cIf it bleeds, it leads.\u201d They also, in general, hate private citizens possessing firearms and actually using them to stop criminals. This is what happened recently in Las Vegas, not that you would know it from the coverage in the news.<\/p>\n

The basic story is that someone carrying a rifle was spotted on a security camera and was stopped by an armed citizen before he could do any damage. Here a the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

A gunman wearing a helmet and carrying an “AR-15 style rifle” was caught on camera at the entrance of an upscale Las Vegas apartment<\/a> complex before an armed employee of the building opened fire and stopped him in his tracks. <\/b><\/p>\n

This apparently happened last month, but the world wasn\u2019t told about it. Why you may ask? The MSM will say almost anything, that it wasn\u2019t all that newsworthy, or it\u2019s local story or something. The real reason? It goes against the Progressive narrative that a good guy with a gun can and does stop a bad guy.<\/p>\n

Questions on how the incident played out remained unanswered for days as media coverage was minimal despite the worker having foiled what appeared to be a mass shooting attempt, Heritage Foundation senior legal fellow Amy Swearer claimed. <\/b><\/p>\n

“Normally when you have some sort of video like this, especially when it’s what appears to be an active shooting situation, that’s something that makes national news. I’ve never seen that not pick up steam of some sort,” Swearer told Fox News Digital.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

“What’s bizarre here is the hand waving, \u2018Nothing to see here. Move along, folks,\u2019” Swearer continued.<\/strong><\/p>\n

What happened is simple. The bad guy tired to shoot the good guy and missed. The good guy didn\u2019t.<\/p>\n

At about 3:15 pm Friday, June 23, the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department received a call regarding a shooting at Turnberry Towers Las Vegas, which is located about a 10-minute walk from the Strip.<\/strong><\/p>\n

The suspect, identified as Andrew Warrender, walked toward the main lobby of the apartment complex at 3:13 p.m., according to the arrest report citing surveillance footage, and allegedly shot his weapon at an employee<\/a>. He attempted to fire another shot but appeared to have a malfunction. He aimed his weapon again at the employee, but no bullet was discharged.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

That\u2019s interesting. It takes a lot for a Stoner series rifle to malfunction, and it\u2019s usually easy to clear. Kyle Rittenhouse had a malfunction when the mob tried to murder him and he was able to clear it easily. (Much to the chagrin of the bad guys trying to murder him)<\/p>\n

Warrender then walked toward the front entrance to leave the apartment complex, but was shot by the employee. The employee held Warrender at gunpoint with his Smith & Wesson 9mm handgun until police arrived, saying he “felt everyone’s life in the area was in danger” and “he used deadly force to protect innocent citizens.” <\/b><\/p>\n

This is where things get interesting. The media, instead of trumpeting it from the rooftops, buried the whole thing.<\/p>\n

Information on the case, however, was scarce between June 23 until June 28. There were bare-bones news articles immediately after it happened, reporting that two people were involved in a shooting and the public was not in immediate danger. <\/b><\/p>\n

A couple of local outlets that reported a “hero” employee thwarted the suspect relied on witness testimony as police didn’t confirm the details. The police department additionally did not confirm to The Daily Signal on June 27 if a “hero” with a gun thwarted the shooting. <\/b><\/p>\n

I suspect the investigation was ongoing and they couldn\u2019t comment. Since the bad guy survived, they need to do their due diligence, cross the \u201cT\u2019s\u201d and dot the \u201cI\u2019s\u201d so the bad guy doesn\u2019t get off on a technicality.<\/p>\n

“I could understand why there’s not this immediate asking of questions\u2026 it’s just sort of \u2018Move along,\u2019 but the question becomes: Why are the police framing it that way?” Swearer said. “And maybe they don’t know, but it seems pretty clear that by the next day, when you see this video start coming out, it seems very clear that there’s something else going on here.” <\/b><\/p>\n

“And even then with these follow-up stories, even within the media itself, you still have this framing of \u2018Oh, well, he just stopped it. A hero employee who did this hero thing that we\u2019re not going to go into detail about,'” Swearer said. <\/b><\/p>\n

I wonder what information the Las Vegas Police have and why they aren\u2019t talking about it? Was this yet another mentally ill Trans-gendered nutcase that was stopped before he\/she\/it could hurt anyone? Swearer said the video of Warrender that has circulated online has the earmarks of an intended mass shooting. It remains unclear what the shooter’s motives or intentions were. <\/b><\/p>\n

“Generally speaking, when you have somebody in a public space with a rifle, who just begins firing, not at a specific person\u2026 he’s just like firing into glass doors,” she said. \u00a0That has all of the earmarks\u2026 of someone who is bent on a serious form of violence against more than one person.” <\/b><\/p>\n

On June 28, local outlets and Fox News Digital were able to get more information on the case when police began releasing Warrender\u2019s arrest report. <\/b><\/p>\n

The report confirmed that an employee of Turnberry Towers who worked both security and deliveries shot Warrender and was not a suspect in the case. His name was redacted from the reports reviewed by Fox News Digital. <\/b><\/p>\n

The unidentified employee told police that at about 2:50 on the day of the shooting, a valet employee at the hotel alerted him that Warrender was “about to point a firearm at him.” The armed security guard who thwarted the suspect told police he is not asked to carry a firearm while at work, but “chooses to do so on his own free will.” The employee had the Smith & Wesson in a holster on his waist<\/a> with additional ammunition on his person, according to the report.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

My stock portfolio approves of the employee\u2019s choice of defensive tools. (I own some stock in Smith&Wesson, although I personally prefer Sig Sauer products)<\/p>\n

Police said the employee discharged<\/a> “12-13 rounds at Warrender causing him to fall down and drop the rifle,” the arrest report states. Warrender was ultimately arrested and transported to a nearby hospital for his wounds. <\/b><\/p>\n

It sounds like the employee either needs to spend more time at the range or needs to choose a different brand of personal defense ammunition.<\/p>\n

The suspect was additionally known to employees at the apartment complex, as he would frequently stay with his uncle who lived there. On the day of the shooting, employees noted to police that Warrender was “not acting like as his normal self” and had “a blank stare” when on the apartment’s property. <\/b><\/p>\n

Hmmm, that sounds like pharmaceuticals may have been involved. As to whether the criminal was self medicating or was under a doctor\u2019s care and had a bad reaction is something that will come out at the trial. If the latter, he could be held not mentally competent. That too will be determined in the court room.<\/p>\n

Swearer said in a Twitter thread on June 27, before the arrest report was reported, that it appeared the police department wanted to downplay the crime as to not highlight that a “good guy with a gun” prevented a tragedy. <\/b><\/p>\n

“Four days, and LVPD apparently doesn’t think it’s important to clarify basic facts of an incident that would probably garner national attention. They’d prefer you just move along, folks, because what does it matter if a good guy with a gun saved lives?,” Swearer wrote.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

Now I am certain that politics is involved. I looked up the current mayor, Carolyn Goodman and she identifies, (Politically), as an independent. From what I have found, she\u2019s a gun controller. I can\u2019t find much information on the current Chief of Police other then Vegas seems to go through a lot of them. I suspect that Goodman is not happy that a good guy stopped a bad guy and may be playing some political games. This is all supposition of course. As for the criminal?<\/p>\n

Warrender was charged with attempted murder, two counts of assault with the use of a deadly weapon, and illegally discharging a gun. <\/b><\/p>\n

Unless there is some medical reason he did this, he\u2019s going to be spending a good long time as a guest of the state of Nevada. The good news here is that the only person hurt was the criminal. This is the way things should happen. The MSM and the Progressive Liberal Democrats on the other hand, hate the idea that people should have any way of protecting themselves. Hopefully, we will get to the bottom of this, not so much a cover-up as a \u201cWe won\u2019t cover this at all\u201d deal.<\/p>\n
