Here’s a really difficult question. Should President Obama be impeached<\/a> from office for high crimes and misdemeanors? No, this isn’t one of my many rants against the idiot in chief, this is actually a serious question. (And I’ll try to be as serious as I can)<\/p>\n

A number of people, none of whom count for anything, (Voters and taxpayers in other words) have been watching Obama and his administration over the last three years in growing horror. It isn’t the complete ineptitude and incompetence, it’s the outright lawlessness and contempt for the Constitution shown by Obama and the others in his government.<\/p>\n

To begin with, the war in Libya. The French and British decided that Qaddafi had to go. I can agree with that sentiment. However, rather than just delivering a pink slip via cruise missile, the EU and NATO decided it would be a great idea to back the rebels. Of course, at this point they were all but wiped out by Qaddafi\u2019s forces. So they decided to start airstrikes in their support.<\/p>\n

Obama, in his usual indecisive manner, voted \u201cPresent\u201d and apparently let Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Valarie Jarrett run things. After a few days of trying to ignore their whining he thought the best way to shut them up was to back NATO and order the Navy to lunch missile and bomber strikes against Libyan forces.<\/p>\n

As usual, our glorious forces beat the ever living snot out of the Libyans, however Obama made a small mistake. He didn’t go to Congress and clear it with them.<\/p>\n

Now I won’t go into the War Powers Act and whether or not it’s constitutional or not. Congress is the body that declares war, not the President. The only time a President can initiate hostilities is if the United States is attacked or if it’s citizens are in danger of attack and or need to be rescued from a foreign power.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell Bush attacked Iraq! That’s an illegal war!!\u201d so screameth the Moonbats.<\/p>\n

Um, no it wasn’t. Whether or not you agree with going into Iraq and removing Saddam Hussein, President Bush did go to Congress beforehand. He met the constitutional requirements.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell his daddy invaded Panama!\u201d<\/p>\n

Good memory. Yes he did, and if you recall a few little details, American citizens had been attacked and the Panama Canal threatened by Noriega. This was an immediate threat against U.S. Citizens and our strategic interests. Also we had not yet turned over the Canal Zone to Panama at that point in time.<\/p>\n

\u201cWell Reagan invaded Grenada! How about that?\u201d<\/p>\n

I guess you’ve forgotten the Cubans building a bomber base and the American medical students who were caught up in that mess and might have been taken hostage by the Grenadian regime that had just overthrown the previous regime. I still remember the first flight of students landing and one of them kissing the runway. \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n

So, count one of the indictment, starting a war without consulting Congress.<\/p>\n

Next we come to Operation Fast and Furious, AKA Gun walker.<\/p>\n

For those of you living in a cave under a rock, Operation Fast and Furious was a plan to allow guns that were bought illegally to \u201cwalk\u201d across the border into Mexico ostensibly to catch the bigwigs in the drug cartels. The only problem with this plan was that it didn’t work and never would.<\/p>\n

Almost immediately, the BATFE lost track of the guns that were bought by straw purchasers. ((Straw purchases<\/a>)) Literally thousands of weapons ended up in the hands of the cartels and one was found at the murder of a federal border agent.<\/p>\n

While the news about this operation had been going around for months, and the field agents with the BATFE were screaming to high heaven on what a bad idea this operation was. They were basically told to shut up. Both Attorney General Eric Holder and President Obama have denied any knowledge of this operation and they are trying to get the acting head of the BATFE to fall on his sword and take one for the team.<\/p>\n

The only problem is that dead federal agent. Whoever allowed this fiasco to happen is probably looking at a manslaughter charge at best. There is also the small issue of violating the laws and sovereignty of a foreign nation, in this case Mexico. The Justice Department under holder has been stonewalling and lying to congress about this mess, but it is slowly coming apart at the seams. The odds of Obama not knowing about this project are slim. Since there are now rumors that this whole thing was done to try and ram through new anti-gun legislation. If this is the case, then there can be very little doubt that Obama was up to his neck in this project.<\/p>\n

Here is count two of the indictment.<\/p>\n

Murder of a federal agent<\/p>\n

Count three of the indictment.<\/p>\n

Illegal exportation of firearms to a criminal organization.<\/p>\n

Then there are all the regulatory agencies that are imposing new rules against the will of congress. In a number of cases, in violation of court orders.<\/p>\n

Count four of the indictment,<\/p>\n

Contempt of Court.<\/p>\n

There are many other possible charges that could be brought, but I’m NOT a lawyer. There are plenty of lawyers out there who have actually studied the laws and constitution, (Unlike Obama) and could work with Congress to bring impeachment charges.<\/p>\n

Now, will an actual impeachment occur? I doubt it. The main reason is the Democrats. They have shown their utter contempt for the rule of law and the constitution going back to the Clinton impeachment. Clinton was clearly guilty of perjury and should have been removed from office but the democrats put party ahead of the rule of law and let the perjurer in chief skate. It will take not just a smoking gun, but a video of Obama shooting someone in the head and then sodomizing the corpse and even then the Democrats would probably not remove him from office.<\/p>\n

The next election can’t come soon enough for me.<\/p>\n

I’ve argued with a former lawyer who is now a novelist. I’ve said that I think that the next president will have no choice but to charge Obama with assorted crimes and put him on trial. He has replied that it will never happen for one reason. If a sitting president thinks he’s going to be charged, then why would he step down?<\/p>\n

My answer was simple. If he tried to stay in office past his\/her term, someone would kill him\/her. My example was Richard Nixon. When Nixon resigned, everyone expected him to be indicted for the Watergate break in and cover up. It was only President Ford pardoning Nixon that kept him out of jail. (I’ll let other people argue whether or not pardoning Nixon was the right thing or not)<\/p>\n

People have been comparing Obama to Jimmy Carter. This has proven to be unfair to Carter. He was just an incompetent idiot. Obama is so corrupt he makes Nixon look honest. He’s also far more incompetent than Carter ever was. Carter could at least make a decision. Obama is incapable of thinking on his feet and hates having to make decisions.<\/p>\n

History will judge Obama, and I don’t think History will be that kind to him or his enablers. I’ve already made my decision.<\/p>\n
