Then we have CNN commentator Chris Wallace. It appears that he is not a fan of Taylor Swift. He was not happy about her being selected Time\u2019s Woman of the Year and let fly on his show, CNN’s the Chris Wallace Show. It hasn\u2019t gone well for him. Here are the details from Radar Online<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Chris Wallace<\/b><\/a><\/strong>\u2019s ratings dropped by more than 50% as the <\/b>CNN<\/b><\/a><\/strong> host criticized TIME for naming <\/b>Taylor Swift<\/b><\/a><\/strong> the magazine\u2019s 2023 Person of the Year, <\/b>RadarOnline.com<\/b><\/a><\/strong> can report. <\/b>Wallace slammed TIME over the weekend after the magazine officially announced that Swift, 33, was 2023\u2019s Person of the Year on Wednesday. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cTaylor Swift found a way to transcend borders and be a source of light,\u201d the magazine\u2019s editor-in-chief, <\/b>Sam Jacobs<\/b><\/strong>, wrote last week. \u201cSwift is the rare person who is both the writer and hero of her own story.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Just for honesty\u2019s sake and of course, to provide due diligence, I don\u2019t care at all about Taylor Swift or her music. It\u2019s nice that she has succeeded in a tough business, but she and her music have no relevance to me, and I don\u2019t listen to her. This isn’t stopping me from pushing Swift merchandise below. If you like her, then good for you. Apparently, Chris Wallace is not as neutral as I am about Ms. Swift.<\/p>\n But according to the struggling CNN host, TIME only gave Swift the Person of the Year cover as a \u201cmarketing play.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cTo me, it sure looks like a pure marketing play for a magazine that used to have a circulation of more than 4 million and is now down to a little more than 1 million,\u201d he <\/b>said<\/b><\/a><\/strong> during Saturday\u2019s episode of <\/b>The Chris Wallace Show<\/b><\/a><\/strong>. <\/b><\/p>\n First, I didn\u2019t know that Wallace still had a show. He was hired away from Fox News, much to the consternation of absolutely no one, and set up on the epic failure known as CNN+. When CNN+ failed, I thought he had been shown the door like everyone else associated with that debacle. Apparently, I was mistaken, I stand corrected.<\/p>\n Second, is Wallace a complete and utter moron? Well, yes, he is, but let me run with this. Taylor Swift has probably hundreds of millions of fans globally. Wallace\u2019s fan base consists of himself, his staff and a few family members, and the cat lady down the street. It looks like she may have also been a Swiftie as well.<\/p>\n While Wallace slammed TIME for naming Swift its 2023 Person of the Year, Nielsen data from the CNN host’s last five shows found that Wallace himself has lost more than 50% of his viewers in the all-important 25-54 demographic. <\/b><\/p>\n Wallace tried to say that he wasn\u2019t against Taylor Swift, only that he didn\u2019t approve of her being the person of the year. (I remember when Time used to have a Man and Woman of the Year, none of this politically Correct Woke trash)<\/p>\n \u201cLet me be clear from the jump: I like Taylor Swift,\u201d he said. \u201cAlthough I prefer her earlier songs like You Belong with Me to some of her more recent stuff.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cAnd I understand she has a huge cultural and economic force,\u201d Wallace continued. \u201cBut when TIME magazine this week named her its Person of the Year, I thought, oh, please.<\/b>\u201d <\/b><\/em><\/p>\n Personally, I don\u2019t care if Taylor Swift is named Time\u2019s Person of the Year. Time\u2019s relevance these days is minimal. I was surprised when I found out a few years ago that they actually still existed. As for Wallace\u2019s comments that he liked Taylor Swift? That I find hard to believe and it looks like the Swifites aren\u2019t buying what Wallace is trying to sell.<\/p>\n Journalist <\/b>Kara Swisher<\/b><\/strong> admonished Wallace for his controversial take. <\/b>Lulu Garcia-Navarro<\/b><\/strong> demanded that the CNN host remove his Swifty bracelet. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cWhat is the issue with her? They do this all the time,\u201d Swisher argued. \u201cAnd the last thing is media trying to attract an audience. You\u2019re kidding me.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cOf course they\u2019re trying to attract an audience,\u201d she added. \u201cAnd she is someone lots of people really like and have consumed a lot of her content.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n “I do not think it was a good article,” Garcia-Navarro chimed in. “That said, I do think you need to give your Swifty bracelet back.” <\/b><\/p>\n Chris Wallace should stay away from the entertainment world and just continue with CNN\u2019s standard mission of \u201cProtect the Biden\u2019s!\u201d and \u201cGet Trump!\u201d He is even more out of touch with the entertainment world then I am, and I don\u2019t pay all that much attention to it unless something attracts my attention.
