There have been hearings in the Republican controlled House of Representatives, but, as usual, not much has been done. Now it looks like the State Department might be colluding with Bif Tech again to censor online speech during the 2024 election. Here are the details from the Federalist<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n The State Department is refusing to say whether it is communicating with Big Tech platforms to censor free speech online leading up to the 2024 election. <\/b><\/p>\n The agency\u2019s silence on the matter came after The Federalist asked about a new working group launched<\/a> by the United States and Poland on Monday that seeks to counter Russian \u201cdisinformation\u201d about Moscow\u2019s ongoing invasion of Ukraine. Called the \u201cUkraine Communications Group (UCG),\u201d the body will involve the two aforementioned countries and representatives from NATO states, and work to \u201ccoordinate messaging, promote accurate reporting of Russia\u2019s full-scale invasion, amplify Ukrainian voices, and expose Kremlin information manipulation.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n And just how do they plan to counter \u201cDisinformation?\u201d The best way is, of course with more information with accurate sources. Somehow, I don\u2019t think that\u2019s what they have planned.<\/p>\n According to the Associated Press<\/a>, James Rubin, the special envoy and coordinator for the State Department\u2019s Global Engagement Center (GEC), was involved with and attended the UCG\u2019s inaugural launch in Warsaw. As The Federalist\u2019s Margot Cleveland previously explained<\/a>, GEC \u201cfunded<\/a>\u00a0the development of censorship tools\u201d that work to silence (primarily conservative) speech online and\u00a0\u201cused<\/a>\u00a0\u2018government employees to act as sales reps pitching \u2026 censorship products to Big Tech.’\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n Forget firing these people, I think jail would be more appropriate. They are violating the civil and constitutional rights of people they don\u2019t agree with.<\/p>\n Notably, Rubin and the GEC are named defendants in a\u00a0lawsuit<\/a>\u00a0filed by The Federalist, The Daily Wire, and the state of Texas in December to stop the federal government\u2019s censorship operations. <\/b><\/p>\n That\u2019s interesting, and hardly surprising. Both the Federalist and the Daily Wire have been targeted by the Left with attempts to have them deplatformed and shut down.<\/p>\n When pressed by The Federalist on whether the UCG or its participating members \u2014 including the State Department and GEC \u2014 will be collaborating\u00a0with Big Tech and social media companies to censor what they deem to be \u201cRussian disinformation,\u201d a State Department spokesman claimed the working group \u201cis a coordination mechanism between governments and will not involve collaboration with private technology companies or social media companies.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n However, when subsequently pressed on whether the State Department or GEC are collaborating or plan to collaborate with Big Tech and social media companies outside of their work with the UCG to counter so-called \u201cdisinformation,\u201d the spokesman did not respond to The Federalist\u2019s request for comment. <\/b><\/p>\n What\u2019s so hard about this? All they had to say was \u201cNo! Of course we\u2019re not going to do that.\u201d That they refuse to say this is telling.<\/p>\n Meanwhile, the FBI confirmed<\/a> to The Federalist last month it has resumed communications with social media platforms ahead of the 2024 election. The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA)<\/a> \u2014 another wing of the government\u2019s censorship-industrial complex \u2014 declined to comment<\/b> <\/b>when asked about its alleged resumed communications<\/a> with Big Tech. <\/b><\/p>\n GEC has acted as a critical component of the federal government\u2019s orchestrated campaign to silence free speech. <\/b><\/p>\n Congress needs to defund the State Department and the paychecks of everyone involved. That this department even exists is a criminal violation of the Constitution.<\/p>\n Through GEC, the State Department funded the\u00a0U.K.-based Global Disinformation Index<\/a> (GDI), a so-called \u201cdisinformation\u201d tracking organization \u201cworking to blacklist and defund conservative news sites,\u201d including The Federalist. <\/b><\/p>\n And the United Kingdom used to be a bastion of freedom and liberty. Churchill must be spinning in his grave.<\/p>\n The goal, as described by Marshall, is \u201cto financially hurt independent publications and ultimately prevent them from disseminating content.\u201d Other non-leftist media outlets GDI\u2019s 2022 \u201cexclusion list<\/a>\u201d labeled as the \u201criskiest\u201d pushers of supposed \u201cdisinformation\u201d include The Daily Wire, RealClearPolitics, and Newsmax. <\/b><\/p>\n I read Newsmax daily, the Daily Wire fairly often and RealClreaPolitics when I see something usually on the Bongino Report. One of the issues with Newsmax is their use of stories from the Associated with terrorists Press. I just takose particular stories with a grain of salt unless I can verify them elsewhere. No, I don\u2019t think AP should be shut down because I don\u2019t like what they say. I just ignore them most of the time.<\/p>\n NewsGuard<\/a> \u2014 another \u201cdisinformation\u201d tracking group with<\/a> a\u00a0history<\/a>\u00a0of\u00a0assigning bogus ratings<\/a>\u00a0to news organizations \u2014 has also received<\/a> federal grant money through an initiative sponsored by GEC. <\/b><\/p>\n More and more I\u2019m thinking that President Trump\u2019s next Secretary of State should make Rex Tillerson\u2019s chain saw look like a minor trimming device.<\/p>\n An\u00a0interim report<\/a>\u00a0released by House Republicans in November revealed GEC\u2019s censorship efforts in U.S. elections. According to that analysis, GEC \u2014 along with CISA\u00a0\u2014 colluded with Stanford University to pressure Big Tech companies into censoring what they claimed to be \u201cdisinformation\u201d during the 2020 contest. <\/b><\/p>\n One of their claims of \u201cDisinformation\u201d was the Biden laptop. Any attempt to post information about it was blatantly censored by Big Tech. We now know it was all legitimate and the FBI knew this back in 2019. However, the goal for 2020 was to \u201cGet Trump!\u201d and \u201cProtect the Bidens!\u201d<\/p>\n At the heart of this operation was the\u00a0Election Integrity Partnership (EIP)<\/a>, \u201ca consortium of \u2018disinformation\u2019 academics\u201d spearheaded by the Stanford Internet Observatory that coordinated with DHS and GEC \u201cto monitor and censor Americans\u2019 online speech\u201d ahead of the 2020 election. <\/b><\/p>\n That group did tremendous damage to the 1st<\/sup> Amendment rights of thousands of people for simple reasons. They either supported President Trump or they were writing things that were both true and put Joe Biden in a bad light.<\/p>\n As documented in the interim report, this operation\u00a0attempted<\/a>\u00a0to censor \u201ctrue information, jokes and satire, and political opinions\u201d and submitted flagged posts from prominent conservative figures to Big Tech companies for censorship. Among those targeted were The Federalist\u2019s Mollie Hemingway and Sean Davis. <\/b><\/p>\n There was a court case that was filed in 2022 by the Attorney Generals of Missouri and Louisiana regarding the censorship by the Federal Government and Big Tech an injunction was issued to stop them and was upheld by the 5th<\/sup> Circuit. However, in one of the Supreme Court\u2019s dumber decisions, they canceled the injunction. Justices Gorsuch, Thomas and Alito dissented. This clears the way for a flagrant violation of people\u2019s rights.<\/p>\n We have reached the point that the Federal Government of the United States of America is now an existential threat to the citizens of the United States. I hope that the 2024 election goes as we think and the Greatest President of the 21st<\/sup> Century, Donald Trump, is returned to office. The problem is the Deep State bureaucrats, Democrats and Fake Republicans.
