Then you have others who are saying, \u201cHmm, considering everything we\u2019ve done to Trump and the Republicans, we might need some of those pardons for ourselves.\u201d Here are the details from the Washington Examiner<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n Senate Democrats<\/a>\u00a0are weighing whether President Joe Biden should use his final moments of power to issue preemptive pardons to shield those who could receive political retribution from\u00a0President-elect Donald Trump<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n Now why would the Democrats be so concerned about Political Retribution from President Trump? While there are ways for President Trump, once he takes office to really put the screws to the Progressive liberal Democrats, that\u2019s just politics.<\/p>\n The conversations come against the backdrop of Trump\u2019s rhetoric on the campaign trail, in which he threatened to seek revenge on people he considers his political foes, referring to them as \u201cenemies from within.\u201d<\/a> <\/b><\/p>\n These concerns have become even more elevated since announcing his picks for attorney general, Pam Bondi<\/a>, and FBI director, Kash Patel<\/a>, who have echoed Trump\u2019s promises to imprison and prosecute political enemies who have skirted laws. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cThere have certainly been discussions about this among some. How could there not be after all of the threats Trump has issued,\u201d one Senate Democratic aide said, on the condition of anonymity to speak candidly about the situation. <\/b><\/p>\n Well, if you haven\u2019t broken the law, you don\u2019t have anything to worry about. You haven\u2019t broken the law, have you?<\/p>\n Trump has circulated social media posts that call for the jailing of House lawmakers who investigated the attack on the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6, special counsel Jack Smith, and New York Attorney General Letitia James, who oversaw Trump\u2019s civil fraud case. The threats have also extended to Biden, Vice President Kamala Harris, former Vice President Mike Pence, and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY).\u00a0\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n Considering the flat out lawfare initiated by these people, not to mention everything that is currently publicly available, I can see why President Trump might be a bit annoyed. It doesn\u2019t help that most of the people named have no idea what the word \u201cEthics\u201d actually means.<\/p>\n He also has suggested that his former Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Mark Milley committed a crime once punishable by death<\/a>, called Sen.-elect Adam Schiff a \u201csleazebag and traitor,\u201d and insisted he and former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi be \u201cprosecuted.\u201d He also targeted former Wyoming GOP Rep. Liz Cheney, who campaigned for Harris, suggesting he wanted military tribunals<\/a> to punish her. <\/b><\/p>\n In the case of General Milley, he may very well have committed mutiny which was a death penalty offense. The reports of him contacting the People\u2019s Republic of China and telling them that he would prevent President Trump from \u201cDoing something\u201d could even be construed as treason, if it it is true.<\/p>\n The Oversight committee that has been investigating the Pelosi initiated star chamber known as the January 6th<\/sup> committee has been releasing a number of very interesting factoids. Many of these interesting facts put Liz Cheney in a very bad light. While President Trump may have engaged in some hyperbole regarding a military tribunal, there might just be sufficient evidence of wrong doing by Liz Cheney to have her indicted.<\/p>\n Even before Biden issued a pardon for his son <\/a>Hunter, who was criminally convicted this year on tax and gun charges, on Sunday, Sen. Ed Markey (D-MA) publicly floated the idea that the president should consider \u201cpreemptive pardons\u201d to people Trump has threatened to prosecute.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cI think that without question, Trump is going to try to act in a dictatorial way, in a fascistic way, in a revengeful first year at least of his administration toward individuals who he believes harmed him,\u201d Markey said in an interview<\/a> with Boston Public Radio. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cIf it\u2019s clear by Jan. 19 that that is his intention, then I would recommend to President Biden that he provide those preemptive pardons to people, because that\u2019s really what our country is going to need next year,\u201d he added. <\/b><\/p>\n First, Ed \u201cIce Cream Man\u201d Markey is a complete scumbag. Second, as I understand it, accepting a pardon basically means that you are admitting you are guilty. Now I may be completely wrong on that since I\u2019m not a lawyer so I\u2019ll let those with legal training chime in down in the comments section.<\/p>\n In any case, if Dementia Joe were to sign a few dozen pardons for senior members of his maladministration, it\u2019s going to look really bad for the Democrats. Basically, they will have admitted that they were breaking the law in order to railroad President Trump and his supporters into prison. That would be ruinous for the Democrat Party and it\u2019s future elections.<\/p>\n Markey went on to cite Gerald Ford\u2019s pardon of Richard Nixon over the Watergate scandal in 1974, calling it a way to \u201cclose that chapter\u201d and move on \u201cto an agenda that deals with ordinary families.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n There was a few problems with that comparison Ice Cream Man. While Nixon wasn\u2019t part of the actual Watergate break in, he did try to cover it up and there were other things he did as well. He could have gone to prison. (Some say he should have, but that is something for the historians to debate) That pardon wrecked the Republican Party and led to the worst president of the 20th<\/sup> Century. Jimmy Carter.<\/p>\n Sen. Ron Wyden (D-OR) said he\u2019d need more time to think about whether Biden should pursue preemptive pardons, but emphasized he understood why the president recently worked to shield his son. <\/b><\/p>\n \u201cLet me just talk about the one that\u2019s on everybody\u2019s mind, the one that\u2019s relevant, given the lengths that Donald Trump has gone to politicize the Justice Department, I consider what was done by the president over the weekend as understandable,\u201d Wyden said. <\/b><\/p>\n Well, I see that Wyden is projecting a bit here. It wasn\u2019t President Trump who weaponized the DoJ in his first term, it was Obama and later Biden who did it. However, I think Wyden may understand just how bad the optics of a mass pardon of high ranking Democrats will look.<\/p>\n Several Democrats outside of Congress said the idea of Biden pardoning Trump\u2019s political foes causes great concern about optics, especially since no one threatened has currently been charged with a crime.<\/strong><\/p>\n \u201cThe left is hoping that Trump will not be permitted to engage in any interpretive acts for slights once felt in the past, is that possible? Not sure,\u201d said Hank Scheinkopf, a longtime Democratic strategist. \u201cBut is it good to be politicizing the Department of Justice more than it has already been done \u2014 the answer is no.\u201d<\/strong><\/p>\n President Trump isn\u2019t going to use the DoJ to \u201cGet\u201d his political opponents. Will the DoJ under Pam Bondi and Kash Patel take a good hard look at things? I would be shocked if they didn\u2019t. It\u2019s one of the reasons President Trump has selected them for their rolls. Now the question is, what will they find? Considering the blind panic from some of the Democrats, it sounds like they have a lot to worry about.
