Good day all. These stories have been floating around for a few weeks. The first one was the idea by President Trump that Canada should become the 51st<\/sup> State. This was after he started talking about Canada and tariffs.<\/p>\n

In response, Castro\u2019s Bastard, aka Prime Minister Justin Trudeau said that Canada would also put massive tariffs on goods to the United States. That didn\u2019t go over well in Canada. Soon after, President Trump suggested that Canada become the 51st<\/sup> State.<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

This idea was probably a bit of President Trump trolling again, but others have thought \u201cHey! What a great idea!\u201d and put out reasons why this should happen. One of these is \u201cShark Tank\u2019s\u201d Kevin O\u2019Leary. Here are a few details from Fox Business News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

President-elect Donald Trump’s interest in making Canada the 51st U.S. state is a “huge opportunity” to do “something great” on the world stage, according to “Shark Tank” star Kevin O’Leary.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

“I think this is a great idea, and I think the potential is massive, and the opportunity is huge,” the Canadian investor said during an appearance on “America’s Newsroom”<\/a> on Friday. “I think at the end of the day, Canadians and Americans, their DNA is the same in terms of what they believe in\u2026 freedom.”\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

This all started when President Trump mocked Trudeau, referring to him as \u201cGovernor Trudeau.\u201d<\/p>\n

“If Canada was to become our 51st state<\/a>, their taxes would be cut by more than 60%, their businesses would immediately double in size, and they would be militarily protected like no other country anywhere in the world,” Trump wrote. <\/b><\/p>\n

Obviously, no one really wants Canada to become the 51st<\/sup> state. To begin with, there are the Canadians. While they\u2019ve grown sick and tired of Trudeau and what he\u2019s been doing, most of they don\u2019t really want to become Americans. Even if they did, bringing Canada in as a single state wouldn\u2019t work. They would probably come in as a number of states, basically converting the provinces into States. Then there is Quebec. We really don\u2019t want them. Even the French don’t want them.<\/p>\n

The next idea that President Trump started talking about was buying Greenland. He talked about it in his first term, although I don\u2019t remember it. He\u2019s started talking about it again. Here are a few details on this from the Associated (with terrorists) Press<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The president-elect is renewing unsuccessful calls he made during his first term<\/a> for the U.S. to buy Greenland from Denmark, adding to the list of allied countries with which he\u2019s picking fights even before taking office on Jan. 20. <\/b><\/p>\n

In a Sunday announcement naming his ambassador to Denmark, Trump wrote that, \u201cFor purposes of National Security and Freedom throughout the World, the United States of America feels that the ownership and control of Greenland is an absolute necessity.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

Apparently, the United States has looked into and made offers to buy Greenland for almost 200 years. I know that it was strategically important during the Cold War, but these days, I can\u2019t see any reason to buy it. (AW quickly looks at the geology. Hmm) According to Wikipedia, (Yes, I know), Greenland is a very mineral rich area.<\/p>\n

Apparently, Greenland is getting into bed with the People\u2019s Republic of China, and both the EU and the United States aren\u2019t all that happy with that idea. With all the rare earth minerals, and potential oil, I can see why we might want to buy Greenland. However, we would then have to deal with the current residents, and they don\u2019t seem to interested in the idea.<\/p>\n

Next on the list and honestly, the only one that a lot of Americans would get behind, it taking back the Panama Canal. For a bit of history, back when Theodore Roosevelt was President, the United States began looking at building a canal between the Gulf of Mexico and the Pacific Ocean. The idea was that it would cut travel time significantly. There was some political games that in the end resulted in the creation of Panama out of a section of Columbia. The United States set up the government and created the Canal Zone.<\/p>\n

Things worked fine until the Second, or Third worst President in American History, (Depending on how you grade Obama), Jimmy Carter showed up. He took a negotiation that had started under Nixon and as was his tendency, gave away the store. The United States agreed to hand everything over in 1977 and the treaties were ratified 1978. (Surprising no one, most Democrats were for this and most Republicans against. Some Democrats voted against the treaties, probably those who were actual patriots, and some Republicans voted in favor, probably the TransNational Globalist Establishment types.<\/p>\n

Regardless, in 1999, under Bill \u201cBubba HornDog\u201d Clinton, everything was handed over to the Panamanians. The Treaties gave passage priority to American warships, which I believe allows them to jump the line. However certain things have happened, starting with the People\u2019s Republic of China moving in and taking over.<\/p>\n

There has also been problems with the upgrades to the Canal to allow bigger ships to pass through, and I gather the Panamanians have been gouging American shipping on the tolls. This has led President Trump to demand that Panama return the Canal if they don\u2019t stop \u201cRipping off\u201d the United States. Here are some of those details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

President-elect Trump got the attention of\u00a0Panama\u00a0and the entire international community when he said this week that the United States would demand that\u00a0Panamanian officials return control of the\u00a0Panama\u00a0Canal<\/a>\u00a0to the United States if\u00a0Panama\u00a0does not halt the “rip-off” of the United States. <\/b><\/p>\n

Trump made the case that the United States built it, paid for it and that President Jimmy Carter<\/a> “foolishly gave it away.”<\/strong><\/p>\n

Which he did. Carter was an incompetent idiot. The only difference between him and Dementia Joe Biden was that Carter wasn\u2019t corrupt and didn\u2019t sell his office for personal gain. (He also had all his marbles up until recently, unlike Biden, who never had any marbles to begin with)<\/p>\n

President Jos\u00e9 Ra\u00fal Mulino shot back that the\u00a0Panama\u00a0Canal\u00a0belongs to\u00a0Panama.<\/b><\/p>\n

For now.<\/p>\n

Trump noted that “it was given to\u00a0Panama\u00a0and to the people of\u00a0Panama, but it has provisions. You got to treat us fairly and they haven\u2019t treated us fairly.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Make no mistake what Trump is doing is negotiating a new treaty for the\u00a0Panama\u00a0Canal\u00a0and hence, a better deal for the American people. This is much akin to the playbook executed by President Teddy Roosevelt<\/a>, who maneuvered a complex situation involving the French, the government of Colombia, and the\u00a0Panamanian people to build the\u00a0Panama\u00a0Canal. <\/b><\/p>\n

During President Trump\u2019s first term, we saw the first encroachments by the PRC into Panama. This is a major security risk for the United States.<\/p>\n

Most concerning now is the growing influence of\u00a0Communist China\u00a0in Central and South America. In 2017, under the administration of former\u00a0Panamanian President Juan Carlos Varela,\u00a0Panama\u00a0switched diplomatic recognition from Taiwan to Communist China. The then Trump administration went into action and, following a visit by Secretary of State Mike Pompeo<\/a> in October of 2018, the Varela government canceled five infrastructure projects with Chinese companies. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Craig Fuller, CEO at FreightWaves, recently pointed out that there are concerns that “China might embed surveillance technology within the\u00a0Canal\u2019s infrastructure, which could be used to monitor U.S. naval and commercial movements.” He further notes that this potential for espionage increases strategic risks and could provide China with key insights into U.S. logistics and military\u00a0operations.\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n

Without question, this is one of the reasons the PRC wants in on the Panama Canal. If things were to blow up between the United States and the PRC, we would need to move warships and transports from the Atlantic to the Pacific. This is the reason the Canal was built in the first place. If the Chinese are there, they could find out what the cargo in the transports were and easily sabotage the Canal, blocking our ships from quickly responding.<\/p>\n

Now if the United States were to take back the Canal, there would be a lot of issues, not the least of which are the Panamanian people. We might be forced to remove all Panamanians from the Canal zone and lock it down tight. That would mean importing Americans to do the jobs.<\/p>\n

Now one possibility would be a modified repeat of what Teddy Roosevelt did. It would take a lot of work, but in the end, the entire nation of Panama becomes a United States Territory similar to what Puerto Rico is. The Panamanians would then become United States citizens and could freely travel to the United States. Potentially, Panama could become a full state.<\/p>\n

We would also be putting a lot into Panama to build up their economy and infrastructure, something that Panama hasn\u2019t been doing a lot of. (Sadly, like most of the old Spanish Empire countries, corruption is rampant. Thanks a bunch Spain) Now there is a question that should be asked. Would you, a citizen of Panama, give up your sovereignty to become a part of the United States, with all rights and responsibilities of an American citizen? That would be an interesting poll.<\/p>\n

Now, is any of this actually going to come to pass? I really doubt it. A lot of it is the standard Trump Trolling as well as setting things up to make an actual deal that works out beneficially for both parties. (With the United States doing a bit better of course) One thing that is definitely happening is that President Trump is putting the entire world on notice. The Senile Idiot is gone and President Trump is back. More importantly, he has learned from the mistakes from his first term. Let\u2019s see what happens next.<\/p>\n
