Good day all. Recently, Mark Zuckerberg announced that Meta, the holding company for Facebook, Instagram and other IP\u2019s, would stop using fact checkers<\/a> and instead move to the system now used by TwitterX, Community Notes.<\/p>\n

This has caused the fact checkers to panic. They are wondering what they will do now that the gravy train has just been derailed. Their answer? Have a meeting. Here are the details from the Daily Fetched<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

The International Fact-Checking Network has convened an emergency meeting following Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg<\/a>\u2018s announcement that Facebook<\/a> and Instagram will eliminate fact-checkers and uphold free speech. <\/b><\/p>\n

Zuckerberg said<\/a> he would \u201crestore free expression\u201d on its platforms by implementing an X-style\u2019 Community notes\u2019 system instead of using fact-checkers. <\/b><\/p>\n

Yeah, sure. I\u2019ll believe that when it actually happens.<\/p>\n

Now, the International Fact-Checking Network (IFCN) has called an emergency meeting as it scrambles to mitigate the impending obliteration following Zuckerberg\u2019s announcement. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I\u2019m not sure what they can do now that Faceplant is, allegedly, doing away with the fact checkers and going to community notes.<\/p>\n

Business Insider<\/a> writer Pranav Dixit reports: <\/b><\/p>\n

The Business Insider story is paywalled, however I was able to ready the article. One of the items they reported was the IFCN Certification. According to Business Insider,<\/p>\n

IFCN <\/b>certification <\/b><\/span><\/a>signaled that a fact-checking organization met rigorous editorial and transparency standards. <\/b><\/p>\n

The IFCN is expecting some 80 to 100 attendees for this emergency meeting. Not all of the members of the IFCN work to suppress people on Faceplant. They are probably working for the British government to track down people posting things about the Muslim groomers and rapists and handing the information over to the Crown so they can arrest people for \u201cWrongthink.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cThe IFCN has long played a crucial role in Meta\u2019s fact-checking ecosystem by accrediting organizations for Meta\u2019s third-party program, which began in 2016 after the U.S. presidential election.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

How interesting. The Greatest President of the 21st<\/sup> century, Donald Trump, crushes Felonia von Pantsuit and before he\u2019s even sworn in, the Deep State organizes a group to suppress all those Ultra MAGA Deplorables who helped wreck the hopes and dreams of the Clinton Crime Family<\/i><\/span> Progressives.<\/p>\n

Fact-checkers received no prior warning that Zuckerberg intended to get rid of them, which is probably why they were in panic stations. <\/b><\/p>\n

There is a reason for this. Mark Zuckerberg went to Mar-a-lago to see President Trump. It was probably then that Zuckerberg decided to ditch the fact checkers.<\/p>\n

IFCN\u2019s director, Angie Holan, said the emergency meeting was called in response to Zuckerberg\u2019s announcement and that \u201cPeople are upset because they saw themselves as partners in good standing with Meta, doing important work to make the platform more accurate and reliable.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cIt was never about censorship but about adding context to prevent false claims from going viral,\u201d Holan claimed. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Pull the other finger why don\u2019t you? It has a bell on it. It was ALWAYS about censorship. The Panicdemic and people posting things about potential treatments or how the virus came into being were the first things you and your \u201cFact Checkers\u201d deleted. The only problem? Almost all of that \u201cFalse information\u201d turned out to be accurate. It was the fake checkers who were dead wrong.<\/p>\n

It remains to be seen if Zuckerberg will actually carry out what he claims he will. Personally, as one who has been hit by the \u201cJoke Police\u201d repeatedly, I\u2019ll believe it when I see it, and not hit again with the Faceplant Banhammer.<\/p>\n
