Needless to say, this has set off the Danes, and to some extant, the people on Greenland. There is a lot of discussion on the island about this, with many thinking it\u2019s not a good idea. However, the people on Greenland are also seeing this as a chance to declare independence from Denmark and potentially, do a deal with President Trump and the United States.<\/p>\n
Now the Danes have decided that one good turn deserves another and they have come up with what they think is a great idea. They have a petition out to buy California. Here are the amusing details from Newsmax<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n A lighthearted Danish petition to buy the state of California<\/a> and “bring hygge to Hollywood” comes in response to President Donald Trump’s talk about taking control of Greenland, a vast and mineral-rich Arctic island, from Denmark. <\/b><\/p>\n “Have you ever looked at a map and thought, ‘You know what Denmark needs? More sunshine, palm trees, and roller skates,'” the petition asks. “Well, we have a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to make that dream a reality.” <\/b><\/p>\n I have no doubt that the people who put this together are just trolling President Trump and the United States. Unfortunately, they might not have considered the general reaction to this from most Americans.<\/p>\n The petition’s website claimed over 200,000 signatures by midmorning Wednesday, with a goal of 500,000 signers, as well as “$1 trillion [give or take a few billion]. That’s just 200,000 kroner from every Dane.” <\/b><\/p>\n I have a suspicion that now that many Americans know about this, that petition is going to easily surpass the 500K signers they\u2019re looking for. However, they might not like the reason that many Americans might be signing the petition.<\/p>\n “It is in the national interest to promote the extraordinary heritage of our Nation, so California will become New Denmark. Los Angeles? More like L\u00f8s \u00c5ngeles,” the petition states. <\/b><\/p>\n Heh heh heh, good luck with that idea. Assuming that in some alternate reality, Denmark took over California and tried to make it Danish, they\u2019re going to ran smack into the reality that California has a large Spanish undertone to it.<\/p>\n Trump, now in his second term, is doubling down. Before taking office last month, Trump said he would not rule out the use of military force to seize control of the island, calling it vital to U.S. national security. <\/b><\/p>\n I can\u2019t see that actually happening. It would completely defeat the purpose of acquiring Greenland. I suspect that it\u2019s just President Trump indulging in his hobby of trolling. However, he has been doing some interesting things on the ground in Greenland.<\/p>\n The president’s oldest son, Donald Trump Jr., visited Greenland last month and told citizens: “We’re going to treat you well.” <\/b><\/p>\n I suspect that if Greenland did become a U.S. territory, the resident would see a marked improvement in their standards of living. Just mining alone would see a lot of very high paying jobs open up. Then there would be all sorts of other interesting business possibilities that Denmark refuses to allow Greenland to consider. In fact, you can see some of the Dane\u2019s \u201cPlans\u201d for California, although their collectivist tongues are firmly planted in their cheeks. (Face, not butt)<\/p>\n “We’ll rename it Hans Christian Andersenland. Mickey Mouse in a Viking helmet? Yes, please,” the petition states. <\/b><\/p>\n Yeah that won\u2019t fly. Not because anyone really opposes the idea, it\u2019s that Disney is so solidly woke that making Mickey a Viking wouldn\u2019t be allowed. Everyone knows that the Vikings were \u201cManly men\u201d and the Woke idiots running Disney, right into the ground, would rather make a movie about transgendered Vikings in dresses talking about their feelings.<\/p>\n Now, of course, this is all just the Danes doing a little trolling and I have no problem with that. But let\u2019s take this to the logical conclusion. Assuming that the United States agreed to hand over California for Greenland, what would be the actual purchase and sale agreement? For most Americans, it would be \u201cNo substitutions, All Sales Final. No exchanges, No Returns. More on this later.<\/p>\n The Danes are also thinking that they would be taking over the \u201c5th<\/sup> largest economy in the world.\u201d I hate to tell them this, but that was a long time ago. These days, California, which is more commonly known as Kalifornistan, is pretty close to Third World status. All those businesses that drove that economy are bolting from the state as fast as they can. Even the Hollywood studios are cutting back on in state production. People are fleeing the state.<\/p>\n Kalifornistan is basically broke. Crime is out of control and the \u201cRuling Democrat Elites\u201d have gone all in on Woke and Green New Deal to the point that half of L.A. just burned to the ground. Then there is the Kalifornistan power grid. It\u2019s collapsing even as we speak. They are almost to the point of rolling blackouts. Finally, and this is a big one, water.<\/p>\n Kalifornistan should be able to supply most of it\u2019s water needs, but as we saw with the recent fires, they have not only refused to repair and build water infrastructure, they are actually releasing water into the ocean for a fish that no one cares about. So yes, please. Take California. You can deal with the region we call the \u201cLand of the Fruits and the Nuts.\u201d<\/p>\n Of course, every petition needs some fine print, way down at the bottom <\/b><\/p>\n “Disclaimer: This campaign is 100% real \u2026 in our dreams.” <\/b><\/p>\n Be careful what you ask for, you might just get it, good, deep and hard. Now if you want to make an offer, please do. I think we can do a deal.
