Good day all. For the last month, we have seen the Democrats screaming, ranting and raving regarding President Trump\u2019s Department of Government Efficiency finding all the waste, fraud and apparent outright theft of Taxpayer funds. Now we have what appears to be a Democrat Senator who\u2019s wife is receiving funds through her NGO.<\/p>\n


\n<\/p>\n

The Senator in this case is Sheldon Whitehouse, (Commie-RI), arguably one of the most corrupt and hypocritical members of the Democrat Caucus in the Senate. (And that is a major accomplishment) Whitehouse has been slammed numerous times for his arrogance, apparent racism, (He belongs, or belonged to a whites only club not long ago) and being an all around slimeball. (In other words, your standard Democrat) Now he\u2019s being accused of tailoring legislation to benefit his wife\u2019s taxpayer funded NGO. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse, D-R.I.,<\/a> is being accused of violating ethics rules after backing laws that financially benefited his wife’s environmental organization.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

The Democratic senator and climate hawk voted for key laws that provided funding for grants to the environmental non-profit group<\/a> that works with his wife, Sandra Whitehouse, and pays her through a consulting firm.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

The ethics watchdog, the Foundation for Accountability and Civic Trust (FACT), is asking the Senate Select Committee on Ethics Chairman James Lankford, R-Okla.<\/a>, and Vice Chairman Chris Coons, D-Del., to investigate Whitehouse “to determine whether he violated the Senate ethics rules on conflicts of interest.” The group works primarily to draw attention to potential Democratic lawmaker ethics violations.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

Honestly, I would skip the ethics complaint, since both the house and senate ethics committees have long shown themselves to be utterly useless, and contact the Attorney General, Pam Bondi, and the Director of the FBI, Kash Patel. This smells like criminal fraud to me.<\/p>\n

Whitehouse’s wife, Sandra, is employed as president of consulting firm Ocean Wonks LLC and has been since 2017, per her LinkedIn page. Before that, she was a direct employee of Ocean Conservancy, serving as Senior Policy Adviser beginning in 2008.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

According to the Fox story, this LLC has received about $14 million since 2008, broken up a bit in several federal grants. Whitehouse voted for both of the bills. As to whether or not he knew what was in the bills or that his wife would benefit? I can\u2019t say but it wouldn\u2019t surprise me.<\/p>\n

“While these two grants alone appear to be a conflict of interest, it is even more egregious in the context of Senator Whitehouse\u2019s long history of working on legislation being lobbied for by organizations tied to his wife,” wrote FACT Executive Director Kendra Arnold.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

While it is possible that Whitehouse didn\u2019t know the specifics of the bills, being lobbied, (With the usual bribes<\/i><\/span> campaign contributions), by these organizations is sending up clouds of smoke for me.<\/p>\n

“Altogether, Ocean Conservancy has spent millions on federal lobbying expenses over the years on issues relating to oceans, climate change, and environmental cleanup\u2014issues directly championed by Senator Whitehouse, a longtime member (and current Ranking Member) of the Senate\u2019s Environment and Public Works Committee and the co-founder of the Senate\u2019s so-called ‘Oceans Caucus.” <\/b><\/p>\n

Now why are they spending all that money that is, allegedly, meant to help clean up the oceans, and just how much did they spend?<\/p>\n

Since 2010, Ocean Conservancy has paid Whitehouse a total of $2,686,800 either directly or through her firm, per tax documents.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n

Ok, which Whitehouse? Sheldon or his wife?<\/p>\n

“Dr. Sandra Whitehouse, a well-respected marine ecologist and ocean policy consultant, has not received compensation from these federal grants allocated to Ocean Conservancy,” Ocean Conservancy\u2019s Vice President of External Affairs Jeff Watters told Fox News Digital in a statement. <\/b><\/p>\n

“For 40 years, Ocean Conservancy has been a global leader in marine debris cleanup through our signature initiative, the International Coastal Cleanup. The marine debris cleanup grants Ocean Conservancy received from NOAA came from laws passed with broad bipartisan support that then went through a competitive, independent selection process which designated Ocean Conservancy to be one among hundreds of NGOs to receive funding. Ocean Conservancy\u2019s selection was based on our decades of expertise in addressing marine debris and protecting the ocean.” <\/b><\/p>\n

I\u2019m not going to expect that the Senate ethics committee is going to do an actual investigation. Even if they did, it will take months or years and probably come back with the usual slap on the wrist. However, we now have DOGE. I have no doubt that these agencies that provided these \u201cGrants\u201d are on the list to be audited.<\/p>\n

I suspect this is yet another reason that the Democrats, especially Sheldon Whitehouse, are desperate to stop Elon Musk. Now that President Trump has a good legal team in place at the DoJ, it\u2019s entirely possible that we might see investigations, indictments, arrests and trials of a number of Democrats. We won\u2019t see a lot of noise if they do start looking. If anything happens, the Trump team will want it to be a complete surprise.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Whitehouse was just reelected to a 4th<\/sup> term. He\u2019s in there for another 6 years and looks like he\u2019s planning to be another Jurassic Political Hack who intends to be carried out of the Senate feet first. It would be nice to see an indictment short circuiting those plans. We shall see.<\/p>\n
