A political neophyte came within 400 votes of taking out a RINO member of Congress.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/shocked-face.png?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-20636\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/shocked-face.png?resize=300%2C225&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"225\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/shocked-face.png?resize=300%2C225&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2016\/03\/shocked-face.png?w=400&amp;ssl=1 400w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<!--more--><\/p>\n<p>This was in the Texas 23<sup>rd<\/sup> District and \u201cGunTuber\u201d Brandon Herrera, also known as \u201cThe AK Guy\u201d got fed up with his opponent\u2019s record on the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Amendment, among other issues and decided to run. He forced a runoff between him and the current representative, Tony Gonzales. The general election almost went to Brandon Herrera even though Gonzalez spent over $11 million dollars to Herrera\u2019s $1 millionish dollars.<\/p>\n<p>This has led Ken Paxton to look into unseating the current RINO, John Cornyn. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/politics\/texas-ag-ken-paxton-announces-run-us-senate\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><b>Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/us-regions\/southwest\/texas\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Texas Attorney Genera<\/a>l Ken Paxton announced on Fox News&#8217; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/video\/5614615980001\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">&#8220;The Ingraham Angle&#8221;<\/a> Tuesday night that he will run for the U.S. Senate.\u00a0<\/b><b>The announcement comes as Paxton no longer faces the cloud of a federal corruption investigation that loomed over him as he rose up the ranks in the Republican Party.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Obviously, I\u2019m not a resident of Texas and don\u2019t have the view that someone down there does. From what I\u2019ve read in the past, it looks like the charges against Ken Paxton were, just as they were with President Trump, politically motivated with no actual basis in fact. The recent election saw a number of Republican legislators who went after Paxton losing their primaries. The federal charges were pretty blatantly political. Paxton was no friend of the Biden Maladministration.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>The announcement by Paxton, a close ally of President Donald Trump and a MAGA firebrand, comes two weeks after Republican Sen. John Cornyn officially launched his re-election campaign as he bids for a fifth six-year term serving Texas in the Senate. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>&#8220;It&#8217;s time for a change in Texas,&#8221; Paxton told Fox News&#8217; Laura Ingraham, before acknowledging Sen. Ted Cruz, Texas&#8217; other Republican senator. &#8220;It&#8217;s time that we have another great senator that will actually stand up and fight for Republican values, fight for the values of the people of Texas and also support Donald Trump in the areas that he&#8217;s focused on in a very significant way.&#8221; <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cornyn is a Deep State Uniparty member of the Bush wing of the GOP(E). He helped push through a bill that restricts the 2<sup>nd<\/sup> Amendment that was opposed by most of Cornyn\u2019s constituents. I also saw poll a few weeks ago, and I do apologize, I have no links to it, that Paxton will probably blow Cornyn out in the primary.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>On Sunday, Cornyn said he was looking forward to &#8220;the competition&#8221; amid rumors of Paxton&#8217;s candidacy.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Well, that\u2019s not true, but we\u2019ll let him open his mouth and insert his foot.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>&#8220;Ken Paxton is a fraud,&#8221; Cornyn&#8217;s campaign charged in a social media post after Paxton&#8217;s announcement. &#8220;He talks tough on crime and then lets crooked progressive Lina Hidalgo off the hook. He says his impeachment trial was a sham but he didn\u2019t contest the facts in legal filings which will cost the state millions.&#8221; <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>&#8220;He says he\u2019s anti-woke but he funnels millions of taxpayer dollars to lawyers who celebrate DEI,&#8221; the post continued. &#8220;And Ken claims to be a man of faith but uses fake Uber accounts to meet his girlfriend and deceive his family.&#8221; <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-18582\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg?resize=292%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"292\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg?resize=292%2C300&amp;ssl=1 292w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/eye-roll.jpg?w=300&amp;ssl=1 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 292px) 100vw, 292px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>As I mentioned above, I don\u2019t follow Texas politics all that much. I have no idea what Cornyn\u2019s talking about. I suspect it\u2019s either a misrepresentation of what actually happened or a flat out lie. The same thing happened to Brandon Herrera. The Washington Swamp establishment took things way out of context, to the point of flat out lying. The problem was the Herrera campaign actually had the the information ready to go. This is why he came within 400 votes.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Cornyn&#8217;s campaign noted that the incumbent senator has voted with Trump more than 95% of current senators. Trump and Texas need a &#8220;battle-tested conservative&#8221; who knows how to protect his agenda in the Senate and won&#8217;t be outsmarted by Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer and the Democrats, the campaign said.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Cornyn makes the claim but the facts appear to be different. When the Biden gun control bill came up, Cornyn supported it. When his constituents confronted him about it, he ignored them. (The bill pushes Red Flag laws that are blatantly unconstitutional and deny most of the bill of rights)<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>The announcement from Paxton puts the gears in motion for what may be an extremely expensive and bruising GOP primary battle, pitting the remaining establishment and business factions of the Republican Party versus the ascendant MAGA wing. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Matt Mackowiak, a veteran Republican strategist and communications consultant based in Texas and Washington, D.C., said &#8220;this is going to be the most expensive, nastiest, most aggressive, most personal U.S. Senate primary in Texas history.&#8221; <\/b><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/popcorn.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-16558\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/popcorn.jpg?resize=246%2C300&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"246\" height=\"300\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/popcorn.jpg?resize=246%2C300&amp;ssl=1 246w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2014\/11\/popcorn.jpg?w=417&amp;ssl=1 417w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 246px) 100vw, 246px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>For the rest of us, this is going to be a great show.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>&#8220;You have two candidates who are going to raise significant funds, who are in significant positions, who do not like each and have not liked each other, whose teams do not like each other and the stakes could not be higher,&#8221; he emphasized. <\/b><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Let Them Fight HD\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/XKdJ6DnPhzk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Cornyn also previously came under criticism from conservatives after he helped push a bipartisan gun control bill after the 2022 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.foxnews.com\/category\/us\/mass-shootings\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">mass shooting<\/a> at a Uvalde, Texas elementary school that killed 19 students and two teachers. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>That disaster showed why people can\u2019t trust the police to protect them. Instead of doing what the Nashville police did in a similar situation, which was charge right in looking for the criminal, the police stood around doing nothing for an hour. One office did try to go in and the morons stopped him and took his gun from him. Regular citizens also tried to get into the school and were blocked by the Uvalde Thumbsuckers. As I recall, it was several federal agents who decided on their own to go in and put that rabid dog down. Cornyn\u2019s answer was to back violations of the 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 4<sup>th<\/sup> and 6<sup>th<\/sup> Amendments.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/constitution-burning.jpeg.jpg?ssl=1\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium wp-image-9980\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/constitution-burning.jpeg.jpg?resize=300%2C199&#038;ssl=1\" alt=\"\" width=\"300\" height=\"199\" srcset=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/constitution-burning.jpeg.jpg?resize=300%2C199&amp;ssl=1 300w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/constitution-burning.jpeg.jpg?resize=150%2C99&amp;ssl=1 150w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/constitution-burning.jpeg.jpg?resize=400%2C265&amp;ssl=1 400w, https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/angry.net\/blog2\/wp-content\/uploads\/2012\/11\/constitution-burning.jpeg.jpg?w=650&amp;ssl=1 650w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>It also looks like that Ken Paxton isn\u2019t the only one looking to send Cornyn into retirement.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>Making Cornyn&#8217;s path to renomination even more difficult is a possible Senate bid by Rep. Wesley Hunt, who represents a Houston area district. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>The third-term 43-year-old Texas Republican and rising MAGA star has made his case to the president&#8217;s political team, sources confirm to Fox News. Hunt&#8217;s argument is that he&#8217;s the only person who can win both a GOP primary and a general election, a source familiar with the discussions confirmed to Fox News. <\/b><\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>An outside group supportive of Hunt is currently spending seven figures to run ads across the Lone Star State to increase the lawmaker&#8217;s name ID. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>I don\u2019t know anything about this man, which isn\u2019t surprising. I wonder if anyone else outside of his district knows who he is.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 40px;\"><b>While Paxton is very popular with the conservative base of the party, it&#8217;s not clear at this point what Trump will do regarding the race. And political strategists note that toppling Cornyn in a GOP primary will likely be a very expensive proposition, and it&#8217;s not clear if Paxton can raise the money needed for victory. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>I think the smartest thing President Trump can do is nothing. Make no endorsements in the primary. Once the decision by the voters has been made, then President Trump can come in and help carpet troll the Democrat opposition.<\/p>\n<p><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-medium\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/i.pinimg.com\/736x\/9d\/9a\/b3\/9d9ab36988dbb8de2cfbf80b0c142a4b.jpg?resize=500%2C375&#038;ssl=1\" width=\"500\" height=\"375\" \/><\/p>\n<p>Now as to who I will hope wins? It\u2019s not for me to say. I don\u2019t live in Texas and I really don\u2019t know the players although I am leaning towards Paxton. I do know that Cornyn has been in office since Santana was in charge. He needs to go. He\u2019s completely out of touch with the Republican base, Texas and anything outside of Washington.
