Good day all. I\u2019ve written a few time about ActBlue<\/a>, the Democrats dark money slush fund. This group collects \u201cDonations\u201d and distributes it to Democrat candidates. They are well known for their shady dealings and recently, Congress called on the Bondi DoJ<\/a> to investigate ActBlue. It now appears that this is going to happen.<\/p>\n

\n<\/p>\n

This is worrying to the Democrats since ActBlue is one of their main sources of untraceable funding. Now they are bracing for the worst. Here are the details from Politico<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n

Democrats on Thursday, April 24th<\/sup>, were bracing for a sustained attack on their fundraising operation by Republicans, as President Donald Trump targets ActBlue. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Trump plans to direct Attorney General Pam Bondi to investigate the major online donation platform for what the administration cast as \u201cunlawful \u2018straw donor\u2019 and foreign contributions to American elections\u201d in a presidential memorandum on Thursday. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cPresident Trump is taking action to address malign actors and foreign nationals who seek to illegally influence American elections, undermining the integrity of our electoral process,\u201d a fact sheet detailing the memo obtained by POLITICO states. \u201cActBlue has become notorious for its lax standards that enable unverified and fraudulent donations.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Lax standards? Try no standards whatsoever. There is plenty of documentation on how they\u2019ve been gaming the system. Investigators have found people living on fixed incomes who were alleged to have donated tens of thousands of dollars to the Democrats through ActBlue. Those donations weren\u2019t lump sums either, but small donations to avoid tripping certain reporting requirements. The problem was, those donations were made in quick succession, as in one $50 donation per minute for a week.<\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Democrats had been preparing for presidential action targeting the platform in recent days, alarmed by the GOP\u2019s growing focus on the platform where they conduct almost all of their fundraising. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cBy targeting ActBlue, Trump is taking direct aim at the infrastructure of Democrats to run campaigns from school board to Congress,\u201d said Kelly Dietrich, the CEO of the National Democratic Training Committee, an organization that prepares Democrats to run for office. <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

I think what she\u2019s really worried about is what the DoJ investigators might actually find. ActBlue was notorious for not using the normal verification systems to ensure that all donations were legally made by American citizens and not from foreign nationals or governments.<\/p>\n

This is not the first time that the right has attacked ActBlue. Trump\u2019s presidential memorandum follows a letter that Rep. Bryan Steil (R-Wis.), chair of the House Committee on Administration, <\/b>sent to ActBlue in October<\/b><\/u><\/a>. Steil asked for documents and information about how the platform verifies donors, suggesting it does not have adequate protections to prevent foreign donations. <\/b><\/p>\n

Now for an aside. Politico is pretty much one of the propaganda mouthpieces for the Democrat Party. You can see this in how the last paragraph was written. They used the word \u201cAttacked\u201d when referring to investigations of how they raised money.<\/p>\n

They also make it seem that the request from Rep. Steil was more of an accusation instead of a question on the verification process. What Politico doesn\u2019t mention, is that it\u2019s confirmed that ActBlue was NOT verifying where the money was coming from and it appears this was intentional.<\/p>\n

In December, Steil <\/b>announced the documents<\/b><\/u><\/a> turned over by ActBlue showed that the company had implemented new policies to \u201cautomatically reject donations that use foreign prepaid\/gift cards, domestic gift cards, are from high-risk\/sanctioned countries, and have the highest level of risk as determined.\u201d At the time, Steil called it a \u201cpositive step forward\u201d but said there \u201cis still more work to be done.\u201d<\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

Now Representative Steil\u2019s comments can be taken two ways. One, that ActBlue found an issue and is moving to correct it, or that ActBlue was caught in a potentially illegal act and is trying to make it seem that is was an accident. Being me, I think it was the latter. They\u2019re trying to cover up their malfeasance. The responses from the usual suspects in the Democrat Party does seem to indicate that they do have something to hide and are engaging in a preemptive attack.<\/p>\n

Kenneth Pennington, a Democratic digital consultant, described the memo as a simple messaging tool, not directly imperiling ActBlue\u2019s ability to function. <\/b><\/p>\n

\u201cTo me it looks like the continuance of peddling this lie that Democratic small-dollar fundraising is actually coming from foreign nationals, which it obviously is not,\u201d he said. <\/b><\/p>\n

Are you willing to bet the farm on that Mr. Pennington?<\/p>\n

Jack Yao, a Democratic strategist and fundraiser, told POLITICO, \u201cThis is the latest in a line of attacks from the far right that tries to basically use lies to affect people\u2019s confidence in ActBlue.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

As usual, the Democrats call anyone who isn\u2019t a Communist, Socialist, Progressive or Democrat \u201cFar Right.\u201d it doesn\u2019t cross their Leftard smooth brains that maybe they might be the \u201cFar Left.\u201d<\/p>\n

But there remains concern in Democratic circles that Trump\u2019s memo is only the beginning of a broader assault on the platform. <\/b><\/p>\n

Well I certainly hope it\u2019s just the beginning.<\/p>\n

Among some Democrats, that fear is centered in large part around the idea that the administration could move to freeze ActBlue accounts, even temporarily. <\/b><\/p>\n

I will be honest and admit that even I would consider that pretty drastic. The only reason to justify something like that is if the investigation actually found something really bad. Perhaps those Democrats who think this could happen know something did happen and continues to happen?<\/p>\n

<\/p>\n

Nothing in the White House fact sheet detailing Trump\u2019s memo suggests that a bank freeze is currently in the works. <\/b><\/p>\n

Unlike the Democrats, the Trump Administration is actually going to follow the book on this investigation. I suspect that they are going to be even more cautious then is required. Why you may ask? It\u2019s simple. If they do find actionable things, the Trump Administration is going to want all their legal ducks in a row and the evidence so overwhelming and easy to understand that even modern day Yellow Dog Democrats<\/a> will be hard put to deny everything.<\/p>\n

It does, though, accuse ActBlue of being a party to fraud, stating, \u201cSpecifically, the Memorandum notes that a congressional investigation revealed significant fraud schemes using ActBlue and, over a 30-day period during the 2024 election cycle, hundreds of ActBlue donations from foreign IP addresses using prepaid cards, despite it being illegal for foreign nationals to contribute to U.S. elections.\u201d <\/b><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a><\/p>\n

If this can be verified, and honestly, I think it will be, ActBlue is finished. One thing the FBI has always been noted for was \u201cFollowing the money.\u201d With Kash Patel and Dan Bongino now in the process of getting rid of FBI agents who saw themselves as Agents of the Democrat Party and the Deep State, the usual tools available to the Democrats to bury this investigation are falling by the wayside.<\/p>\n

I think the Democrat Party operatives know this and deep down understand that the jig is up and they are going to lose one of their main sources of dirty money. They are resorting to their usual name calling and accusing the Trump Administration and the Republican Party of doing what they\u2019ve been doing themselves for decades.<\/p>\n

Normally this would work since way to many Republicans to concerned with their own positions and are terrified of losing them. The problem for both the Never Trump squishes and the Democrats is that many of the new people are emulating President Trump. They were brought in or elected to do a job and that is what they intend to do. The Democrats simply don\u2019t know how to deal with this.<\/p>\n

We shall see if anything comes of this. I think, considering the hubris of the Democrats, they got very sloppy and that the DoJ is going to find some really bad things and nail ActBlue and probably a number of Democrat hides to the proverbial barn door.<\/p>\n
