Recently, Kalifornistan started the process to flat out ban the sale, and not doubt, ownership of cars with internal combustion engines. (Gas and Diesel) Additionally, they were going to ban the \u201cBig Rigs\u201d that shipping companies use to move cargo out of the ports in Kalifornistan.<\/p>\n
To deal with this permanently, the Congress has passed a bill stripping Kalifornistan of the ability to regulate the Auto Industry. Here are the details from Fox News<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n President Donald Trump<\/a> and Republicans in the House and Senate on Thursday finally ended\u00a0California\u2019s outsized authority\u00a0to\u00a0dictate national emissions standards for new\u00a0cars, trucks, RVs and engines.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n The EPA, under President Joe Biden, granted California exemption waivers to the Clean Air Act, handing California the keys to set their own extreme emissions regulations \u2013 including the requirement that nearly all vehicles sold in the state must be electric by 2035. <\/b><\/p>\n Electric vehicles, while nice for short range local travel are a dead end technology. It takes to long to recharge, the range can be affected by the temperature and the lithium batteries have a habit of bursting into flames. Recently, a lithium battery in a car on board a transport ship caught fire<\/a>. Since the crew couldn\u2019t put it out or dump the car over the side, they had no choice but to abandon ship. The ship eventually sank.<\/p>\n Knowing that the people\u2019s representatives in Congress would reject their most extreme policies, the Biden administration<\/a> had\u00a0to\u00a0rely\u00a0on\u00a0these workarounds\u00a0to\u00a0push their Green New Scam agenda.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n Biden\u2019s Clean Air Act\u00a0waiver\u00a0allowed other states\u00a0to\u00a0follow\u00a0California\u2019s lead, creating a patchwork of misguided rules. More than a dozen states and D.C. follow\u00a0California\u2019s standards, drastically changing the dynamics of America\u2019s critical auto and RV manufacturing industry without Congress having a say. <\/b><\/p>\n Some of the states that drank deeply of the New Green Scam and began to ban normal cars have already started pulling back. Kalifornistan isn\u2019t one of them of course.<\/p>\n In practice, this means\u00a0California<\/a>\u00a0effectively set the standards for the automotive industry, and most Americans have been forced\u00a0to\u00a0live under a regulatory framework that none of our representatives ever voted\u00a0on.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n This is where the Republicans finally did what they were elected to. They didn\u2019t wait for President Trump to sing an Executive order that some commie Obama or Biden judge would block. They passed a law.<\/p>\n This ends now. Rep. Yakym, R-Ind., along with House Republicans,\u00a0took action\u00a0to\u00a0end this power grab, passing three disapproval resolutions under the Congressional Review Act (CRA)\u00a0to\u00a0repeal the\u00a0EPA\u00a0waivers. Senate Majority Leader John\u00a0Thune, R-S.D., shepherded these three measures through the Senate, which\u00a0today earned President Trump\u2019s\u00a0signature. <\/b><\/p>\n Republicans across the country knew there was no time\u00a0to\u00a0waste. Beginning this year,\u00a0California\u2019s Advanced Clean Trucks regulations would have started requiring new heavy-duty vehicles, such as trucks and RVs,\u00a0to\u00a0be zero-emission. This regulation threatened the RV supply chain by limiting the availability of chassis for motor homes. <\/b><\/p>\n These \u201cPermissions\u201d to screw over the American car and truck buyer goes back to the 60\u2019s and 70\u2019s. Ib those days, California had a real problem with air pollution. Because of this, they were given permission to force car makers to install extra antipollution systems. At the time, California was a major market for car makers so they decided that instead of just making \u201cSpecial cars\u201d for California, they would force everyone to buy them whether or not they wanted or needed these systems.<\/p>\n Jump forward to the 21st<\/sup> century and the Communists have taken control of the Democrat Party and the state of Kalifornistan. They decided that they would outlaw cars and trucks using internal combustion engines, and this included the diesel engines used in the commercial trucks used to move goods across Kalifornistan and into the United States. Everything would have to be electric.<\/p>\n This would have wrecked not just the car and truck industry, but done critical damage to the American economy. The True Believers of the Church of Global Warming and Climate Change didn\u2019t care. It was for a good cause, enriching the ruling elite and suppressing everyone else. OK, that is a bit over the top, but the Leftards now ruining the state are true believers and can\u2019t see that their \u201cCunning plan\u201d was always doomed to failure, just like every other plan Socialists, Communists and Democrats come up with.<\/p>\n Eleven states and D.C. adopted this mandate, which impacts 25% of the heavy-duty vehicle market in the United States, essentially making it the new national standard.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n Every single one of those states is a \u201cBlue\u201d States. Already a couple of them are walking back these mandates as they begin to realize that the technology just isn\u2019t there yet, and that the power grid simply can\u2019t support tens of millions of electric cars. (Not to mention these things spontaneously combusting and sinking ships)<\/p>\n The stakes couldn\u2019t be higher for the Hoosier State<\/a>, especially Indiana\u2019s Second District, home\u00a0to\u00a0Rep. Yakym and the RV\u00a0Capital of the World, where nearly 90% of America\u2019s RVs are built. This industry directly supports more than 60,000 Hoosier jobs, pays over $4.3 billion in wages, and generates a\u00a0total economic output of $22 billion across the state.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n The answer for your typical Progressive Liberal Democrat to the potential destruction of the industry and resultant job losses? Learn to code dude!<\/p>\n RV production is also critical\u00a0to\u00a0many other states which is why 13 Democrats joined Republicans in the bipartisan, commonsense vote against the Biden\u00a0EPA\u2019s RV\u00a0waiver.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n If this was in the Senate, then I think you just crossed the threshold of breaking the filibuster that the Democrats will use to punish America for voting for President Trump. It looks like a few of the Democrats decided that their own personal political survival was more important that political and religious doctrine.<\/p>\n The Clean Air Act was never intended\u00a0to\u00a0effectively give\u00a0one state the power\u00a0to\u00a0dictate emissions standards<\/a> for entire industries across the country. Congress prohibited states from establishing separate vehicle and engine regulations except under “compelling and extraordinary conditions” that apply specifically\u00a0to\u00a0that state.\u00a0 <\/b><\/p>\n And in the case of Kalifornistan, the Deep State handling the Senile moron that they installed into the White House considered Kalifornistan\u2019s interests in ruling the rest of the country to be just the “compelling and extraordinary conditions” they needed to wreck the auto industry. This is why the Congressional Review Act exists. It allows Congress to kill regulations promulgated by bureaucrats.<\/p>\n Now, we can go into the reasons that this act is needed in the first place. The CRA is a Band-Aid to a major problem. Bureaucrats who basically can do whatever they want to whoever they want with very limited recourse by the victims of their rules and regulations. People have been jailed for using the wrong size labels, never mind that the information on them was accurate.<\/p>\n I have no doubt that once this bill hits President Trump\u2019s desk, he\u2019s going to sign it into law with his usual flourish and panache. I also expect the usual suspect to run to one of their pet Obama or Biden judges to rule it illegal. Good luck with that. What needs to be done now is legislatively killing and gutting the federal bureaucracy. There is only so much President Trump can do by executive order and he is running into said Obama and Biden judges, with a sprinkling of RINO judges, who are usurping power they don\u2019t have.
