The Democrats, of course, claim this is all a conspiracy by racist white conservatives. Then we have something come up that basically proves out the theory. Here are the details from Newsmax<\/b><\/a>:<\/p>\n A coalition of New York City Democrats has begun maneuvering to ensure the state’s nearly 2 million illegal aliens will be counted in the 2030 census, The New York Times reported<\/a> this week. <\/b><\/p>\n So, is this similar to how slaves were counted before the Civil War? Slaves were counted as three fifths of a person<\/a> for the purposes of determining how many house seats a state would have. Considering the history of the Democrats, it doesn\u2019t surprise me that they want noncitizens counted, especially illegal aliens.<\/p>\n In January, Republicans at the state and national level initiated efforts<\/a>\u00a0to stop the counting of illegal migrants when determining a state’s population. If successful, Democrats stand to lose several congressional seats, particularly in states such as California and New York,\u00a0each of which is\u00a0home to millions of illegal aliens. <\/b><\/p>\n Now, several of New York’s elected officials are coming together to figure out how to stop the GOP’s plans. Councilwoman Julie Menin, a Democrat from Manhattan’s East Side, hosted a discussion in April at New York Law School on how to count city\u00a0residents accurately. <\/b><\/p>\n Excuse me Councilwoman. People in the United States illegally are not residents of the state. They have no rights other then to be quickly removed from the United States. What this looks like is that you only want to consider them residents to protect the Democrat Party\u2019s hold on New York.<\/p>\n While the Trump administration has begun its mass deportation\u00a0efforts to first go after primarily illegal aliens who are criminals, critics say putting a citizenship question on the 2030 census could threaten legal immigrants as well. <\/b><\/p>\n How so? Legal resident aliens are, by definition, legal. They obeyed the laws, waited their turn and were given the appropriate visas. Are you saying that they are going to be deported as well?<\/p>\n Jeffrey M. Wice, a census expert and adjunct professor at New York Law School, told the Times that counting a population accurately is critical to obtaining proper funding. <\/b><\/p>\n “It could be very bad,” Wice said. “If you want that hospital, if you want better schools, if you want better streets, it all gets down to representation and funding.”<\/b><\/p>\n Don\u2019t make me laugh. Most of that money is locally generated. What this is all about is protecting the Democrats seats in Congress, nothing more.<\/p>\n In 2020, 62% of New York City households responded to the census, but\u00a0participation was less than half in some neighborhoods. Democrats fear a question asking residents their legal status will further reduce the participation rate. <\/b><\/p>\n That means that a lot of American citizens chose not to respond to the Census. As for illegal aliens? They shouldn\u2019t respond. In fact they shouldn\u2019t even be here to respond.<\/p>\n Previous attempts by Republicans to add a citizenship question have been blocked by the courts, but in January, Rep. Chuck Edwards, R-N.C., reintroduced legislation<\/a>, the Equal Representation Act, that would “require reporting on certain census statistics, and to modify apportionment of Representatives to be based on United States citizens instead of all persons.” <\/b><\/p>\n I looked up the Census in the Constitution. The requirements of who gets counted are fairly specific. Here is the relevant section:<\/p>\n Representatives and direct Taxes shall be apportioned among the several States which may be included within this Union, according to their respective Numbers, which shall be determined by adding to the whole Number of free Persons, including those bound to Service for a Term of Years, and excluding Indians not taxed, three fifths of all other Persons. <\/b><\/p>\n Now to try and break this down. Whole number free persons are, or were at the time, literally free men and women. Of course, back then, women had minimal rights and couldn\u2019t vote. The part that says \u201cincluding those bound to service\u201d was aimed at indentured servants. These were people who basically sold themselves into servitude for a specific period, either to pay of debts or to pay for passage to the New World. Once their term was completed, they became free men and women.<\/p>\n Indians, now referred to as Native Americans\u201d flat out weren\u2019t counted. The 3\/5th<\/sup> people? Those were slaves. A slave was not a free person or an indentured servant and was unlikely to ever be freed. Therefore they didn\u2019t count as a whole person.<\/p>\n Now we have a situation that the founders never considered. People who were in the United States illegally. These are people who legally can\u2019t hold jobs, and can be removed from the United States at any time. The Courts might like to say that they should be counted, however you then run into the issue of these very same people being kicked out a day later.<\/p>\n Theoretically, you could say that illegal aliens were not even considered at the time of the founding of the United States, so the legislature should decide if they should or should not be counted. Technically this is also in Article 1, Section 2.<\/p>\n The actual Enumeration shall be made within three Years after the first Meeting of the Congress of the United States, and within every subsequent Term of ten Years, in such Manner as they shall by Law direct. <\/b><\/p>\n I think this is where Representative Edwards is going to. Congress makes the law on the manner of the count. I suspect some pinhead Obama or Biden judge my decide to throw the 14th<\/sup> Amendment at this, however, there is a section in there that is currently headed for the Supreme Court regarding Birthright citizenship.<\/p>\n All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. <\/b><\/p>\n The key phrase there is \u201cand subject to the jurisdiction thereof.\u201d There is no question that illegal aliens are not subject to the jurisdiction of the United States. They are in the United States illegally. Now personally, I don\u2019t think that legal resident aliens should be counted either and that affects me personally since I am married to a legal resident alien.<\/p>\n Under immigration laws, she is not supposed to collect welfare or be a burden on the treasury. She most certainly isn\u2019t and has been working and paying taxes since she was legally allowed to get a job. Illegal aliens are a burden to the treasury, both federal and states.<\/p>\n This doesn\u2019t matter to the Democrats. They consider the American taxpayers, both citizens and legal resident aliens, as piggy banks that they can rob. As we have been learning from the DOGE audits, the Democrats have been looting the treasury for decades. If they lose seats in the House, then they lose access to that money.
